"No!" Clara screamed in shock, her heart aching. Tears streamed down her face. "Stop it! Mateo..." It was all her fault! Mateo could be killed. As the two wolves continued their assault, Mateo struggled more and more.

Another wolf was taken down by Mateo, and its tail was cruelly torn off. At this point, Mateo's face was covered in blood. His brothers were also injured.
