Chapter 107: His Tree

Shea's brow twitched with rage. After tracing the coordinates of the old nymph's teleportation spell, she was met with nothing but a corpse laying beside a decrepit tree. He had actually gone and killed himself! She scrutinized his body with narrowed blue eyes, irritation bubbling in her chest.

He had not only taken his own life, he had shattered the essence that could have been collected. Xanithe's dedication was commendable, but it ran a huge hole through Shea's plans.

"You're certain that Nazmi has no other family?" The sorceress asked one of the subordinates that the Council had lent her for the task.

The nameless man shook his head. "From what the Council gave us, she has no more living relatives – adopted or otherwise. Apparently, she doesn't even have friends from childhood, either."
