Chapter 156: Chapter 155

[Third Person's PoV]

"The Sun?" Alpha asked in complete surprise.

"The Sun," Cid nodded in confirmation. "If you notice, each pair of divinities complement each other well and are linked to one another. Like Epsilon's Melody and Frequencies, both related to sound, whereas Zeta's Combat and Metal are related to, well, combat."

"How is metal related to combat?" Epsilon asked, confused.

"Metal is connected to weaponry, that's why," Cid briefly explained.

"I see, so the Sun and Fertility are related to life, right?" Alpha asked.

Cid nodded in confirmation. Not long after, they felt a sudden change in mana quality followed by the sound of an explosion. They turned to see who it was and found Eta fast asleep, surrounded by a green aura as she floated in the air.

"Did she really...?" Epsilon was shocked, unable to finish her sentence.

Alpha finished it for her, "Become a goddess while sleeping? It seems so." Even she was equally shocked.

'Eta has her own form of mana rotation; while she sleeps, she developed a technique that allows her to purify the mana inside her core. Although I call it a technique, it's more of a subconscious action,' Cid thought in amusement.

Using his Ruler's Authority, Cid gently lifted Eta from the air and brought her close to his lap, providing her with a pillow. Her lips curled into a small grin as he brushed her hair.

Alpha and Epsilon looked towards Cid, burning with curiosity, wanting to know Eta's titles.

"Let's see here... oh? These are some interesting titles she possesses: Eta, the Goddess of Wisdom and Alchemy; the Dreamer of Eternal Sloth; one of the Seven Deadly Sins; the Poisonous Sage; and the Endless Sleep That Accompanies Death."

Even in her sleep, Eta lifted her head and kissed Cid on the cheek before settling back into his lap.

"Phew, that's only 5. I still have more," Epsilon said, putting a hand to her chest and letting out a sigh of relief.

Alpha rolled her eyes and scoffed, "You only have 1 more than her; don't let it go to your head. Just because you have more titles doesn't make you better."

Epsilon scoffed, pushing her hair back with her hand, "If you're jealous, just say so; no need to be so fussy about it."

Alpha covered her eyes and sighed, 'She has become arrogant since becoming a goddess. I'll have to put her in her place later.'

After a while, it was someone else's turn to become a goddess, and that person turned out to be Beta.

A silver-white aura rose from Beta's body, causing her silver hair to float. The wind picked up, tousling everyone's hair, and dark clouds began to gather in the skies.

'We don't have clouds in the Shadow Realm...' Cid thought with a smile.

When Beta landed, she ran towards Cid with her arms outstretched, "Master~"

Arriving at Cid, she sat on his other lap and leaned her head back towards him.

Cid began to pamper her, and soon all eyes were on him expectantly.

"Beta, the Goddess of the Sky and Archery; the Seductress of Unending Lust; one of the Seven Deadly Sins; the Elven Storyteller; and the Muse Enthralled by Death."

Beta started to pout, "These are good... but they aren't 'The Endless Sleep That Accompanies Death.'"

Cid kissed her cheek and reassured her, "They are perfect as they are. They are all about you, so they must be perfect."

Beta blushed bright red, "You sweet talker."

Cid then turned towards Gamma, noticing her sweating a bit as she concentrated.

After 30 minutes, they felt an aura appearing in the distance where Zeta had once been.

"If I had to guess, I'd say Delta broke through?" Alpha guessed.

Cid nodded before his eyes widened, "Oh wow, she has more than 2 Divinities..."

"WHAT!?" They all exclaimed, looking towards the distance.

They turned back to Cid, gazing at him with impatience. After all, everyone had only two; they were curious what made Delta so special that she had more than two.

Cid began reading out all of Delta's titles, "Delta, Goddess of the Hunt, the Wild, Mountainous Strength, Wolves, and Battle—"

Cid didn't finish as they all shouted, "HUHHHH!?"

They all wore looks of disbelief. Although they didn't fully understand the concept of Divinities, they knew Delta having 5 was a big deal. After all, they all only had 2, so Delta having twice as many was shocking.

"What are the rest of her titles?" Epsilon asked, already feeling uneasy.

"The Berserker of Murderous Wrath; one of the Seven Deadly Sins; the Embodiment of Sins; the Reaper of the Battlefield; the Shadow's Watchdog; the Beast That Bathes in Blood; Kin Slayer; The Prodigy; and the Wolf That Hunts with Death."

"NOOOOOO!" Epsilon shouted in devastation.

Everyone looked at her strangely.

"Why does she have more titles than me!? And why do they sound so much cooler than mine!?" Epsilon asked, with a defeated expression.

Cid rubbed her back, trying to console her, and turned towards Gamma, the only one left who hadn't transformed.

Her eyes were tightly closed, tears gathering at the corners.

Seeing this, Cid sighed and excused himself, walking up to Gamma. He sat in front of her and took her hand, causing her to open her eyes.

Her lips quivered as she lowered her head in shame, "I–" She choked up.

"Gamma… it's okay, take your time," Cid said softly as he held her hand.

"But I don't want to be left behind… Everyone always advances so much quicker than I do. I've never been that good when it comes to magic or fighting. I've had to work twice as hard just to be able to use my magic properly."

Cid continued to speak softly to her, rubbing the back of her hand with his thumb. "Gamma, you're not going to be left behind. I promise you that." He kissed the back of her hand gently. "Here, let me help you. Close your eyes," he advised.

Gamma obeyed, and Cid began controlling his mana, gently guiding it into Gamma.

He helped Gamma guide her mana, slowly purifying it. Cid only assisted slightly, allowing Gamma to purify the rest on her own.

After a few minutes, Gamma's brows began to relax, and moments later, a bluish-purple aura exploded from her.

Everyone started breathing heavily as they felt their bodies pressed towards the ground.

Cid helped Gamma control her new aura and abilities, guiding her to store it inwardly.

When they both opened their eyes, Cid smiled at her. "Congratulations, you are now officially a goddess."

Gamma leapt into his arms, wrapping hers around him. "Thank you, thank you, thank you," she repeated, kissing his cheeks over and over, which made Cid chuckle.

"Alright, alright, let me read you your titles."

Gamma sat back down, looking at him eagerly like a student awaiting test results.

"Gamma: The Goddess of Gravity and Space, The Witch of Excess Greed, One of the Seven Deadly Sins, The Untalented Hard Worker, The One Most Pampered by Death."

Gamma rubbed the back of her head in embarrassment upon hearing her last title.

Cid stood up and offered Gamma his hand. Once she took it, he turned towards everyone and smiled proudly.

"Congratulations, everyone. You have all become goddesses. You should all be proud of yourselves."

Everyone cheered and rushed towards Cid, tackling him in a hug. Zeta and Delta ran over and jumped on the pile as well, while Cid laughed in amusement.

Chapter 157: Chapter 156

1[Third Person's PoV]

As they were all standing up, they suddenly gained two surprising visitors.

"CELESTE, STOP TELEPORTING EVERYWHERE!"

What followed were loud, maniacal baby giggles, filled with mischief.

"Hehehe!"

Hearing the voice from above, they looked up to find Aurora holding Celeste while flying. The bluish-purple aura around Celeste then vanished, causing them to start falling.

"Ahhhh! Catch us, Cid!" Aurora yelled, grabbing onto Celeste protectively and turning her back towards the ground.

Cid had a look of amusement as he held out his arms. Aurora soon landed in his arms while holding Celeste.

Celeste raised her arms in the air and cheered while giggling. Cid chuckled, shook his head, and looked towards Aurora. "How did this even happen?"

Aurora sighed. "Celeste started teleporting all over the room and wouldn't sit still. So, in case she teleported somewhere dangerous, I jumped and grabbed her. But when I grabbed her, she teleported both of us here."

Celeste looked proud as she puffed up her chest.

"Have you not been listening to Mommy?" Cid said, beginning to chastise her.

Seeing that Cid was mad at her, Celeste lowered her head.

Cid then put Aurora down and took Celeste in his arms. "You have to stop worrying Mommy and listen to her when she tells you no, alright?"

With pouted lips, Celeste nodded. Cid smiled and started patting her head.

Aurora looked around. "Where is this place?"

"The Shadow Realm, a different dimension that exists in my shadow. It appears Celeste's abilities are becoming stronger as time goes on; she was able to enter my dimension on her own," Cid praised.

Celeste went back to puffing her chest with pride upon hearing Cid's compliment.

Epsilon then looked towards Celeste before picking her up from Cid's arms. "You mentioned Monarchs having titles before. What are yours?" Epsilon asked curiously.

Cid saw all of them turn to him, their eyes burning with curiosity.

"You guys really want to know, huh?" Cid asked.

The girls all nodded, except for Celeste and Aurora, who looked at Cid in confusion. Cid reached into the air and pulled out a scroll from nowhere. As he undid the scroll, it fell to the ground, continuing to expand with no sign of stopping.

The girls looked at the scroll with wide eyes and mouths agape.

Cid cleared his throat while lifting up the scroll as if prepared to read it. "You girls ready? Buckle up, this may take a while."

Cid chuckled, threw the scroll to the side, and turned into particles of light, revealing it was only an illusion. "I'm just kidding."

Celeste covered her mouth as she giggled cutely.

Bellion then appeared next to Cid. "My lord, I think it would be better if I announced your titles to them."

"Go ahead, Bellion," Cid nodded.

Bellion smirked before loudly pronouncing: "My lord is Monarch of Shadows, The Emperor of Death, The King of Black, The Greatest Fragment of Brilliant Light, The Owner of The Seven Deadly Sins, The Husband of Many, The Sovereign of Mana, The Manifestation of Willpower, The One without Limit…"

As Bellion started announcing Cid's titles, all of his shadow soldiers began appearing and surrounding the area. They went on one knee, put a fist to the ground, and bowed their heads.

Bellion then quickly followed he walked towards everyone that was kneeling down and knelt down with them as well as they all faced Cid,

"OUR LORD IS THE EMINENCE OF A TRUE MONARCH OF THE SHADOWS!"

Alpha and the others had looks of worship, while Aurora looked deeply impressed. Celeste's eyes shone like stars upon hearing all of her father's titles and seeing everyone show him great respect.

'He's the coolest… I'm so glad he's my daddy.'

In the real world…

Rose was twisting and turning in her bed, tears in her eyes as she muttered in her sleep, "I'm sorry… forgive me, Father…"

In her dreams, she held a sword deeply embedded in her father's chest, blood staining her hands and flowing from his mouth.

"I won't forgive you," he said in a raspy voice, holding out his bloodied hands. "I won't forgive you, Rose!"

He wrapped his hands around her throat, looked her in the eyes, and screamed in her face, "I WON'T EVER FORGIVE YOU!!"

"I'm sorry!" she yelled as she woke up, realizing her own hands were wrapped around her throat.

She sat up in bed, catching her breath, and buried her face in her hands as she muttered, "That same dream again… It happens again and again."

Suddenly, she heard the sound of knocking on the door, followed by Sherry's voice from the other side.

"Rose? Are you okay? I heard screaming."

"I'm okay… just a dream…"

"...Okay… Well, I came to inform you that we have a mission set up. Please get ready quickly."

"Alright, I'll be there in a few," Rose answered as she walked towards the mirror and let out a sigh as she examined her body.

She lifted her neck, exposing the red markings she had created. She ran her fingers over them before using magic to heal them.

"That's the third night in a row I've woken up with self-inflicted wounds. One of these days, I'm going to wake up dead by my own hands…"

"..."

"Can I wake up dead? Is that a thing?" Rose pondered before shaking her head, She summoned black slime and applied it to her whole body, creating the Shadow Garden's main outfit.

'This slime is really amazing. As expected of Cid, he's really a genius,' Rose praised as she examined herself. Nodding, she walked out of the room.

She found Alexia leaning against a wall with Sherry standing next to her, waiting.

"Are you really okay?" Sherry asked with a hint of worry in her gaze.

Rose smiled and nodded. "I'm okay, really. Like I said, it's only nightmares. Sorry for worrying you guys."

They both nodded and began to follow Sherry.

"If you ever feel like you need to talk to someone, just know we will always be by your side. We are a team now, after all," Alexia said, looking at Rose with a serious expression.

Rose nodded. "Thank you."
