Chapter 45

Several minutes later, within the vast hall, only Ron and Bicky remained. Ron instructed his associates to leave, leaving the two of them facing each other across a small, white round table adorned with various appetizers and aperitifs.

Bicky held a piece of sponge cake, but her appetite seemed absent as she sipped her drink.

"Is it true? How did you manage to achieve the rank of a Level 1 Magus so quickly?" she inquired, her gaze distant.

"Congratulations, Ron! And thank you for coming to assist me," she added.

"Don't mention it. After all, you're my friend," Ron replied with a smile.

Bicky echoed, "You are a good friend."

Observing Bicky's perplexed behavior, Ron probed, "What are your plans from here on?"

"In the future?" Bicky lowered her head in contemplation. "I don't intend to return to the academy. I plan to travel and perhaps, someday, return to my family."

She then gazed at Ron with eagerness. "Maybe I could become your follower?"

In the world of Magi, once an individual advanced to an official Magus, they could typically take a few followers and establish a soul contract. In exchange for their loyalty, the master would provide knowledge and resources. Followers also represented their master to some extent in the outside world.

Leylin hesitated momentarily, taking a bite of cake before responding, "I can take you in, but I'll need to assess your abilities."

Ron understood that granting something valuable to someone without them earning it often resulted in a lack of appreciation. He had specific plans for Bicky, and while he held affection for her, she needed to prove her worth. The task he would assign her in the future would be challenging.

"I'll do anything you want," Bicky said timidly. "Truly?"

"We'll see about that," Ron responded, observing her closely and retrieving a book from his clothing, placing it on the table. "I want you to kill Fayle," he declared, a peculiar glint in his eyes.

"Kill him?" Bicky remained silent, her breathing and heartbeat revealing her emotions. After a while, she spoke, "He has joined the Purple-Gold Flower family and possesses both Grine Water and the Rainbow Potion. He might have already become an official Magus. What can I do?"

"Don't worry about the Purple-Gold Flower Family. I'll handle that. I'll ensure you can escape their retribution," Ron assured her confidently. The most powerful member of the family was only a Rank 1 Magus, which Ron could easily handle, especially with his Fallen Star Pendant.

"Still, how can I kill Fayle when I'm just a Level 2 Acolyte?" Bicky asked, her eyes glistening with tears.

"What about it?" Ron inquired, raising an eyebrow.

"If you agree to bear my seal and become my follower, I'll help you become strong enough to seek your revenge," Ron declared.

Bicky was excited and confused. Leylin's offer defied common practices in the Magus world, but she eagerly accepted.

"I want you to swear your loyalty," Ron requested. Bicky agreed, and he marked her with the 'Seal of Lucifer.'

Ron pushed the book toward her and added, "Here are some Spiritual Potions and an advanced meditation technique."

These were the same items he obtained through his dealings with Bosain. He didn't concern himself with any potential consequences from the Lilytell family.

"Thank you, Leylin!" Bicky exclaimed as she hugged him, her eyes welling with tears.

With her embrace, Leylin subtly performed a gesture with his right hand, extracting a greyish-black gas from Bicky's body, unnoticed by her.

Several hours later, Ron left Tyler Fort, refusing Johnson's invitation to stay. He left most of his guards with Bicky, knowing that their combined strength was more than sufficient to ensure her safety. He had other plans for her, and the next step was transporting her to Teljose City, the Light Magi Domain.

As he looked back at Tyler Fort, Ron had mixed emotions, hoping that Bicky had chosen her own path for a better future.

Leylin prepared a trail for her, understanding that it could lead to either success or failure. He had contingency plans to ensure his success, and it was up to Bicky to seize this opportunity.

"We'll meet again when destiny calls," Ron murmured to himself, a smile on his face.

The Poolfield Kingdom was part of Abyssal Bone Forest Academy territory, with the region to the north teeming with dangers. Ron's path led westward through the Zither Moon Mountain Plains and into the vicinity of Sage Gotham Hut.

The two forces had recently been at war, and they were bitter rivals. Abyssal Bone Forest Academy and Sage Gotham Hut were remote, rural regions in the eastern part of the south coast.

Ron's journey continued, and he passed through several kingdoms before reaching the central area of the south coast. Here, Light Magi held the most power and coexisted with regular humans, resulting in fewer conflicts and battles.

His plan was to advance his strength further in this region, as he still required resources, especially for Elemental Essence Conversion and more rapid meditation. Ron intended to trade for the necessary resources but was aware that he needed to be discreet.

Ron could never underestimate the intelligence of other Magi when making his trades, and he always conducted his business in disguise.

After advancing, Ron spent significant time and effort to optimize his shapeshifting abilities with the A.I. Chip. The effect was even more pronounced than before, offering him new opportunities.

He chuckled, realizing that this journey would not be as dull as he had initially thought.
