Chapter 41: Chapter Fourty-One

Soren and Amelia now walked side by side. He was pleased to see her expression return to one of peace as they walked. If being outside brought her such contentment, then he would have to accompany her on strolls more often.

"So, Soren," Amelia started. Hearing his name on her lips made Soren feel happier than it should have. "If we're to come to an understanding, I think we need to clear the air on a few things."

"I agree. Is there anything specific you wish to discuss?" 

Amelia was quiet for a moment, weighing her words carefully. "When did you know we were fated partners?"

That was not the question Soren had expected. He wasn't sure why she wanted to know something so trivial, but he answered regardless. "From the moment I first laid eyes on you."
