Adam Jones's eyes darkened, and the hand that was originally grabbing her ankle suddenly loosened, covering her hand instead. His body spun, causing them both to tumble to the ground.

A muffled groan of pain escaped from Adam's mouth, or more precisely, it was Adam who fell to the ground, with Elly Campbell shielded by him, her whole body landing squarely on top of him.

Her elbow just happened to jab into Adam's chest, causing him so much pain that his expression turned somewhat ugly.
