So after a lot of convincing and everything we agreed that I should pay him a visit They dropped me to his apartment
"We will be waiting to hear from you " Alice said I got out goes to the last floor since that's where it's located he took the whole floor for himself since I knew he was inside and he knew I was coming I judged knocked
"Hey why bother knocking when you have a key" he said kissing me on the cheek pulling me inside
"Why are you like that are you sick" James asked me sitting down pulling me with him that am sitting on his laps I stare into his face
"I need to tell you something but please promise you won't get mad" I said to him holding his face in my hands
"Sweetheart what is it you know you can tell me anything" he encourages me to continue
"James " I didn't know it was this hard where am I going to start from he didn't push me he just waits for me patiently to continue tears started forming in my eyes I hugged him and he hugged me tight
"Please talk to me " he said still hugging me
"James am pregnant " I sigh mummers in a very low voice tears falling down I thought he did hear me byt I can tell he did from the way his body tightened
He puts me to the side and stand up "what did you say" he ask me standing by the window
"Am pregnant " now saying it am realizing how my life is going to turn
"And who is the father " James asked me being so serious I've never seen him like that before
"James I've never cheated on you " I said being angry how can he even thing of that
"Leila you know very sure that I was so careful not to get you pregnant "
"I don't know how things happened but I've never cheated on you in ma whole life James please believe me " I cried out for him but he ignores it
" then start explaining this"he yelled at me
I just sit there crying looking at him how am I supposed to explain something I don't understand myself
We sit there in silence until James breaks it "Leila who is the father of that bastard" he asks me again
"Don't you dare call my child like that James " I warned him
"Get out of my house Leila " he said being all serious
"James please let's talk about this please " I stand up when I was about to touch him he took a step back as if am some kinda of dirty that really hurts
" James please don't do this"
"I said get out Leila "
I didn't say anything I just took my handbag and left his apartment in tears I grab a taxi and goes home
Palma finds me in my room I was laying down on the floor in a dark room all alone I know wondering how I was going to support my baby " Leila what happened " she asked taking a sit on the floor beside my feet
" Palma I don't know what to do " I just sigh " I can't believe what am going to say to mom " I add turning on my back
" what do you mean am not getting you at all" Palma ask me
We kept silence for a few a minutes just lost in our thoughts
"Leila there is something I need to tell you but please don't be mad I just didn't know how to tell you "
"What's is it Palma " I wasn't really interested in it I had alot on my mind
"Mom is sick " I sit up giving her all my attention
"What " I can tell that this was serious Palma never take anything serious she doesn't even visit people in the hospital whether you are her friend or not she never take anything serious
" she is having bone marrow cancer " she whispered and I just stare at her shocked
" how "
" she didn't want to tell us and I just found out when I went in her things in her room "
" why didn't you inform me as soon as you found out "
" I was scared I tried to ask her but she told me it's not true not to tell you and she warned me not going into her things ever again "
Mom comes in the house I felt her opening the front door I was laying on bed not sleeping I heard a lot on my mind I jump out of the bed finding her in the kitchen drinking water
" are you really having cancer " I ask it even feels bitter on my mouth she stops drinking
" no I don't " she denies going back to taking her water
" mom stop laying and tell us the truth " Palma said behind me
"Why did you even took it as a big deal it's nothing am not going anywhere " she shouts
" yes it is a big deal do you even care that your daughter are about to be orphans " I yelled at her
" Leila am not going anywhere " she tries to convince us but I can tell she is trying to convince herself more
" is it true " I asked trying to confirm She first didn't say anything she sigh taking my hand and Palma took us to the Living room we sit down and waits for her to say anything I can tell that she was having a hard time to say anything we gave her all the time she needed in the world we patiently waits for her
" I first I thought it was due to working for long hours i was planning on giving up my night shifts but the it got worse " she was trying to explain to us
" mom " Palma said tears forming in her eyes we both could tell where all these were going oh God u can't believe this day how am I going to do this
She holds our hands tight looking in my eyes
" it is true am having leukemia " she low whispered
