Chapter 10: Souls

Daimos had never seen anything like this before, or rather he had never seen anything like what he was seeing right now when he still had his minds eye intact.

Looking through Likyl's eyes, the world appeared different than what he usually saw with his minds eye. When he still had his minds eye, looking at living people was like looking at bundles of ropes taking the form of the person. The color of the world was black and white, the living beings varied in color. Some where red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple; Almost like the spectrum of light.

But looking through Likyl's eyes was different. They were not bundles ropes like before but souls. Yes souls, as a Cthulhu descent with almost 80% of his blood in him, Daimos had interected with souls before and had actually entered the soul realm once using his minds eye, but that was it, a single glance nearly killed him.

Now he was seeing the same thing again, but this time he was seeing the souls still in their respective bodies, but unlike the white jellyfish like souls he saw in the soul realm. These ones were like lumps sewage or was it mud moving, some of the mud looked like they were dripping down falling into an endless abyss.

He kept looking around and still kept seeing those dirty sludges moving about, the ones that were behind him were different. As Thusixla killed them, the mud slowly falls off and those pure white jellyfish souls would emerge from the sludge and float up to the sky and slowly disappear into the darkness above. Maybe because they were still inside the hall, Daimos realised that the length he could see with the minds eye was limited and he could tell that even though he could see through the walls, he was still feeling limited in this hall for some reason.

Daimos then shut his conciousness in Likyl and used his body to move to the door of the hall. He noticed that his blue rings light were doing their job, and Thusixla was having an easy time killing those white robed men.

Daimos focused on the door and summoned more tentacles from his back. Even though his conciousness in Likyl was shut down, it did not mean he still could not use it.

Slowly, the summoned tentacles started glowing from their grayish white to blood red, Daimos then took some steps back as he also brought Likyl behind him and used some of his Tentacles to cover her.

Suddenly the air infront of the red tentacles became hot and Daimos directed his tentacles to the edges of the door and slowly melted of the hindges, even the protection magic on the door got burnt up by the heat and there was a sudden boom, the door fell down and due to it's massive size and weight, the force created a mini eartquake followed by the explosion of the magic circles inscripted on the door.

This generated alot of dust that rushed out covering what was happening at the enterance of the hall, hiding the massacre happening in the hall, as Daimos slowly came out of the hall.

Daimos looked through Likyl's eyes and noticed a soul that was not as dirty as the rest, but it was still dirty. The tentacles of the soul were covered in that mud, but the rest of it's body was still free.

He was about to disconnect from Likyl's mind but saw the book open.

[Fragment Detected>>>> Fragment of Ancient one Sedmelluq]

Daimos or rather Likyl looked at the book surprised. 'Was it that easy?, But how would I know what a fragment looks like.'

Inside Likyl's mind space.

"We meet again." A voice said.

Likyl opened her eyes and saw that she was back inside the room that she usually appears in when Daimos takes control of her mind.

She looked at the ceiling and saw the being she saw before, the first time she entered the minds space. But she did not see the being the other times that Daimos connected with her. Something was not right and she knew it, this being was not a helper at all.

"It seems my helpm the other time was not satisfactory enough" The being said, it's voice sounding hurt and betrayed.

"What are you?" Likyl finally asked.

The being went quite and looked at her. "Do you want to know?". She did not know how, but she imagined that the being was smiling at her. It gave her the feeling like it never took anything serious in it's life.

"Yes"

"Okay... But first, let me ask you a question." She 'saw' the being move a little. "What do you call manipulation?"

"..." Likyl was not expecting a question like that. She looked at the being and still felt that smiling and uncaring vibe from it.

"Manipulation is basically deceit, telling people the wrong information or hiding certain things from them to either earn their trust or control them to do something for you" She answered.

"Hmm... so what would you call magician who uses tricks and manipulations to please people and make them happy? Based on what you said, that means this joy bringers are also manipulators" Likyl was stuned, the beings words were correct, based on her answer, these party magicians are then liers, but their lies bring happiness... Wait, how did this turn into a talk about magicians?.

LIkyl looked at the being. "Why are we even talking about this?".

"Ohh, am sorry, you see, staying in this place for so long would make you cherish the little talks you have with other intelligent beings" The being said. "I thought I would die alone in this room...*sob*sob*... But then you came and I found someone to talk to... so back to the topic~" The being said playfully. "What do you call manipulators... if you get it right this time, I would show you a very intersting sight~"

Likyl did not know why, but she felt she was losing something from talking to this being. As she thought of an answer, she was not aware of that a tentacle was slowly making it's way towards her.

"I will give you a hint... Think of yourself." The being said.

Likyl was really deep ini thought about it. What would you call a manipulator? could it be politicians?, actors?, or even the same magicians?. No, it can't be that easy. The hint alone is even more confusing, 'Think of yourself?'. What did he mean, that am a manipulator?.

Likyl was so engrossed in her thoughts that she did not notice that a small tentacle the size of a hair had landed and made itself comfortable on her head.

The being smiled and continued looking at Likyl. 'The other girl was right, she does think a lot, but who cares, it gave me an opportunity~'.

"I think a manipulator is every living thing" Likyl finally answered, unawares of what was on her head, she knew something was not right about this being, aside from the fact that she could not even describe it, she felt like she was being used as a puppet.

"Oh, why do you say that, I am intrigued to here it" The being said with some irritation in his tone, but Likyl did not notice it.

"That is because everyone has lied, hidden or tricked someone close or unknown before, and when they do this, it's to gain something from them they want" She said, looking pleased with herself.

"..." The being looked at her and smiled. "Correct, but I would give you half-marks for the analogy." Likyl felt the light in the room dim a little and that ment that Daimos was disconnecting from her.

"It seems our time is up, but not to worry, when we see again, I would tell you who I am~ goodbye~"

"No wai-!!" Likyl opened her eyes and saw alot of debris and dead bodies and just looked at Daimos who was looking at her srangely and Thusixla who smilling foolishly with some blood over her body.

"I guess we are done?" Likyl asked after she got full control of her body.

"Yes we are... and I found a fragment" Daimos said with a smile still looking at Likyl. Likyl felt uncomfortable under his gaze and shirked back into her wheelchair.

[Fragment Collected >>>> Sedmelluq the manipulator]

[1/7]

[Fragments Detected in this Dimension]

[Rhagarthua the father of winds]

[Amon-Gorloth the creator of the nile]

[???]

[???]

[???]

[???]

[The ancient ones are calling]

Daimos did not know how, but as soon as he disconnected from Likyl, the book instantly sent him that message and he realised that somehow, Likyl was with the Fragment. And the most annoying thing... He still does not know what a Fragment looks like.

______________________________

Somewhere in between the dimension where Daimos and his gang where.

Several humanoid beings were looking at the dimension and were all salivating.

"We won't go hungry this millennia" The beings said in unison, as they looked at the dimension, or rather at the jelly like beings flying out of the dimension.

"We are lucky to have been nearby, or these souls would have passed us by, quicly brothers before the primordials arrive to guide them away."

Hearing this, the beings worked fast and started capturing the souls. The souls were not much, but it was better than going hungry, till another bearer of the ancient blood crosses their paths again.

After they were done, the beings quicly left the space in a hurry, not knowing that in one of the souls, something was dwelling there.

'I was lucky enough to have escaped from what ever that thing was, but now, I only have enough strength to move in between only three dimensions, who would have thought that I would meet Byagoonas in this dimensions space.' Sedmellq thought as he. 'But still, what is that book?, it was able to capture me and even knew who I was, it needs to be checked, I just hope I see Sheb-Teth... he loves souls like this.'
