Chapter 9: Chapter 009

Jace's mouth was wide as saucers. He thought he was mishearing things.

A commoner dared label the powerful Caspian family as trash?!

"Hmph. Since you can't refute my words. That means i'm right" Drew sighed, like as if he was helpless over the situation.

"Mr. Drew, i don't think this is a good idea" Diane secretly tugged at his arm.

Her beautiful face was currently sweating profusely and her legs shaking underneath the flowery dress she wore.

What was wrong with this guy? did he eat the gall of a tiger?!

"Don't worry. It's fine" Drew smiled confidently.

With the vast amount of deci points he had, he was pretty confident in himself.

"Maybe i'll just swat whatever Caspian family patriach to death. That would make a pretty good headline, hehe' he thought proudly to himself.

Jace finally found his bearings. He so much wanted to pummel this brat to death, however he was in a public place.

If the media recorded him bullying a commoner, it would sully his family reputation.

He took a deep breath.

"I won't bother wasting a single breath on you"

"Oh? but you just did" Drew taunted.

Jace who was about to sit down almost vomited blood due to outrage.

'If i don't kill this bastard, i am not a Caspian family member!' he swore inwardly.

The audience mood dropped a bit. What a disappointment. They were waiting to see an interesting display.

Malik cleared his throat, an obvious way to gain the audience attention.

"Strange rock going for five hundred million. Going once. Going twice. Sold!"

Malik didn't mince on his words. Five hundred million was a huge sum. Who else could outbid such a huge amount.

Drew's countenance exploded into resplendant smiles.

That was five hundred thousand deci points.

"Hahaha! this is the best day of my life yet!" Drew laughed cynically in his mind.

The auction continued and the last item was sold for ninety seven million.

It was an ancient relic tea pot used by an old powerful deviant. Since it was basically a useless item, Drew didn't bother bidding.

Jace sneered inwardly after Malik announced he was the winner for the last bid.

'Heh. Squandering all your money for a stupid rock. Is that lousy rock worth as much as this teapot?'

However, recalling that Drew insulted his family and bid higher than him, he gnashed his teeth in unconcealed fury.

"Sir, please follow me" a female staff of the auction house walked over to Drew.

She had a brown skin color, hinting that she was a latina for sure. On her face was a breathtaking smile. Drew almost had his breath taken away.

If he were to judge between her and his ex, the former was miles ahed.

Perhaps, only Diane who was besides him was the superior of them.

Speaking of which, after that betrayal, he hadn't heard of Angela.

Seeing the blank expression on Drew's expression, the beautiful female staff was forced to repeat her words.

"Hello sir. Are you okay?"

"Huh?" Drew finally got a grip of himself.

"What were you saying?"

Diane giggled softly.

"Are you perhaps awestrucken by this lady's beauty that you can barely speak"

"Hahah" Drew gave an akward laugh.

"Please follow me to claim the items you bid for" the beautiful female staff explained softly.

"Ohkay" Drew stood up akwardly.

"I'll wait for you outside" Diane flashed a smile at Drew as she followed the crowd exiting the auction house.

Drew quickly followed the beautiful female staff. They passed through a long corridor, lined with portraits of men and women in business suits.

Drew took a closer look at these portraits, surprise flashing in his eyes.

In the past, he always wondered why rich people spent alot buying paintings and portraits. But now he knew!

Just staring at the line of portraits before him, he inwardly praised the artist.

It was so realistic, with zero flaws.

"Those are the past leaders of Red Mist Auction House" the beautiful female staff noticed the curiosity in Drew's eyes.

"Oh? is your auction house that amazing?" Drew asked in wonder.

He had been counting the portraits, and they exceeded ten.

How could a smallscale auction house have such solid roots.

"Oh" the beautiful female staff covered her mouth while giggling.

"Actually, it is public knowledge that we are just a branch. The main Red Mist Auction House is pretty well known in even the Captital State"

Drew could sense the pride in the beautiful female staff's tone.

The duo arrived at a door with a tag that read -

Manager's Office

Pushing open the door, Drew was led into a luxury like office.

The decor screamed of wealth, the atmosphere was pretty cool, and there was an additional beauty.

Yes! a beauty!

She was clad in blazers and A shape skirt. Her brown hair was let loose, causing it to lurch beyond her shoulders.

She had pink lips that could entrance any male despite of age, phoenix eyes that held an endless allure in them and a friendly smile that looked so much seductive at the same time.

'I take back my words. Diane holds no candle before this beauty. Damn!'

Drew gulped.

"Manager, i brought the customer" the beautiful female staff broke the silence.

The gaze she directed at the lady in blazers was filled with endless respect and Admiration.

"Good job Sara. You make take your leave now" Amelia said perfunctionarily, while staring at Drew curiously.

Was this the guy who bid more than half a billion?

Apart from having an handsome face, he didn't have any distinguishable merits.

She even tried inspecting his strength. To her disappointment, he was as weak as an ant to her.

While she was in her own train of thoughts, Drew was in his own too!

Ever since he got into the office, he was studying Amelia intently.

Even though it was just a branch, whoever was able to be the manager would be quite capable right?

Curious, he decided to use 'Analysis' on her.

However, the results blew his mind away.

-[Error! Analysis failed]

Drew felt cold sweat run down his back. This was an expert for sure.

"Please have a seat" Amelia pointed at the only chair opposite her desk.

"Be calm. Be calm. She dosen't bite" Drew tried reassuring himself as he accepted Amelia's gesture.

"My name is Amelia Winters. I am the Manager here. Your bids were off the charts so i was forced to officiate. I hope you don't mind" Amelia flashed the most friendliest smile Drew had ever seen.

She looked just like a regular lady.

However, Drew refused to be swayed by this facade.

"My name is Drew. Is my honour of seeing Manager Amelia in the flesh" Drew replied, trying his best to act calm.

'Oh? He's pretty smart by omitting his surname'
