The auction went on and there were many cases of heavy biddings. So far the most bid went to an ancient sculpture which got auctioned off at a whooping price of hundred million dollars!
Just at that moment, a new display box was dragged to the stage. Malik became solemn.
"Our auction has three main items. And allow me to introduce to you all ladies and gentlemen, the first item!"
The whole auction hall became silent. Everyone stared straight at the display box, curious at what it held.
"The first item was found in a monastary. According to our analysis, it was destroyed single handedly by a powerful expert"
The crowd gasped at the words Malik said. Such an existence who could flatten a monastary wouldn't be an unknown figure.
"We later figured out the culprit's identity. It turns out to be the Zlad family fifth lord"
The crowd erupted into mumurs and heated discussion. The Zlad family was a powerful family made up of Vampires. And the Zlad family fifth lord was nicknamed Hell Bringer.
Apart from humans, there existed other races classified as the Uncannies.
Vampires, Werewolves, Ghouls, etc.
"It was revealed that a monk berated the Zlad family's fifth lord's son for blackmailing a poor mortal girl into his bed. Both parties got into a fight and the Zlad family fifth lord's son got injured"
Drew frowned.
"Isn't this Zlad family too overwhelming and arrogant? how does that warrant a mass genocide of such scale?"
Diane who sat besides him smiled. It was as if this was a normal occurence.
"The Zlad family occupies sixty percent in the hotel market of Delta city. They are a behemoth and nobody tries messing with them. Plus, they are Vampires. Once one of their kind gets killed, the culprit would become enemy number one for all Vampires"
Drew felt shivers upon imagining a scene of pale humanoids with blood red eyes and fangs chasing after him.
Scary!
"Upon inspecting the ruins of the monastary, we found a jade eye ginseng growing at the monk garden" Malik claimed.
"Everyone must be aware just how important a Jade eyed ginseng is. So, we will be auctioning it off at a starting price of one million"
Just after Malik said these words, bids began to fly out.
"2 million!"
"2.5 million!"
"Ah! that jade eyed ginseng is mine! 4 million!"
Staring at those in the hall who bidded frantically, Drew grew curious.
Just what was this jade eyed ginseng that could trigger such a huge commotion.
Although he needed this ingredient to cure Hugo's son, he actually didn't know it's use.
"You don't know what a jade eyed ginseng is?" it was as if Diane read his mind.
"Well.. is it something amazing?"
"Amazing? it's at the peak of that!" Diane's eyes gleamed with passion and desire.
"Once consumed, a deviant or uncanny would face no hurdle. Breaking through the next level would become a hundred percent certain. It dosen't matter how low the possibility was. Plus, it even works on powerful Defiants and Uncannies!"
Drew gulped. Somehow, he felt that it was a waste to use such a precious material to heal a mortal.
However, since he made a promise, he couldn't bring himself to renege on it.
"100 million!" Drew decided to take action.
"Hmph. 105 million" another voice rang.
"106 million!"
"108 million!"
Drew grinned. Want to flaunt your wealth before me? alright, let's play!
"300 million!" his voice echoed throughout the hall.
Everyone gaped at his direction in shock. Increasing his bid by more than three hundred million?!
Did he not know the value of money?
Noticed the shock gazes on him, Drew grinned.
Malik recovered from the shock and grabbed the wooden hammar.
"Jade eyed ginseng selling for three hundred million! going once.. going twice.. sold!" he banged the hammar in finalization.
Drew's eyes lit up. He couldn't wait to make the payments and get his deci points.
How much would his strength increase with such a huge amount of deci points?
He was curious to find out.
Another display show glass was brought up to the podium. Within it was a lump of purple glowing lump of rocky substance.
"The second item is this strange lump of rock. A group adventurer found it in a cave, guarded by a huge serpent on the verge of transforming into a flood dragon. Seven of the eight adventurers sacrificed themselves to tie down the serpent while the last one escaped with the lump of rock"
"Although this strange rock is as light as a feather, it is extremely durable. Even the owner of Red Mist Auction couldn't even leave a crack on it after punching it multiple times!"
"Aren't you going too far with your bluffing?" a displeased voice rang from the crowd.
It was a burly man clad in a designer suit that seemed too tight for him.
"Everyone is aware of how powerful the Boss of Red Mist Auction house is. How could he not make that rock crack? do you take us as fools?"
Since somebody made the example to speak, others followed as well.
"How sure are we that you are not just saying this to make us buy that useless piece of rock?"
"Yeah. I doubt that the useless rock will even survive a punch from me"
Malik's face darkened. He was telling the truth but how come nobody believed him.
Just as he wanted to appease the crowd -
"Shut it! since nobody wants that rock, i'll bid five hundred million on it!"
Naturally, the one who said this was Drew, who had a liesurely expression.
Instantly, he became the center of attention.
Wasn't this the same guy who bid three hundred million on the previous item.
Now he was bidding five hundred million on a useless piece of rock. Did he not know the value of money?!
Diane pinched his arm.
"Ouch! That was painful!"
"Why would you bid so much on a useless junk huh? are you stupid?" Diane stared at Drew like she was looking at a fool.
"I took a fancy of it" Drew replied.
Infact, Drew himself didn't know why he bid so much on the useless rock. It was like he was possessed and the words just came out.
However, his conversation with Diane was heard by all in the audience.
Most of them were Deviants, plus Drew didn't bother keeping his voice down.
"Hah. Boastful brat. How sure are we that you can even pay up. What if you are overbidding beyond your capability?" a man from the audience sneered.
He was flanked by two beauties and had a goatee. His eyes had a sinister glean in them.
"And who are you?" Drew replied calmly.
"Heh. I am Caspian Jace. Now you know who i am, apologize for speaking disrespectfully to me!" Jace raised his chin haughtily.
"Caspian Jace? never heard of you" Drew picked his ear lieusurely.
"WTF!" Jace felt like vomiting blood out of anger.
Who in the whole of Delta city didn't know who is family was?
Yet, he was being ridiculed by a brat! He couldn't accept it.
"Plus trash like you won't amount to something great. I doubt that your family would fare any better" Drew hissed in annoyance.

The audience was left in shock at Drew's words.
Wasn't this guy too ruthless and careless?
He was indirectly saying the Caspian family, one of the top twenty local families in Delta city, were trash!!
