Chapter 006

Just as the two were about to grab Drew and throw him out, a voice halted their actions.

 "Stop!"

A lady in blood red cocktail party dress hurriedly descended the stairs.

Although she wore heels, she was pretty fast when she moved.

"Miss. Diane!" the two bouncers gasped in shock when they saw this lady. Even those audiences waiting for a good show to play were gobsmacked.

 Why was she here?!

"Tory and Bryan, how many times have i told you to respect the wants and needs of the customers huh?" Diane chastised the two bouncers.

"But he clearly dosen't look like someon rich" Tory could only grumble this words in his stomach, whilst nodding like a male lizard.

"Sir, i am sorry for the bad performance these two did. I hope you don't take it to heart" Diane probed Drew.

"It was just a misunderstanding" Drew replied blankly.

The previous charade made him lose his appetite. But he wasn't one to run away from what he started

"But i am curious" his expression became one of amusement.

"What's so special about the upper floor that these two bufoons won't let me pass? but just now, a guy passed without an hitch.

Although Tory and Bryan didn't like called as buffons, they did their best to remain calm.

 Their jobs were at stake.

"The upper floor is indeed special. The first floor cannot be compared to it wether in terms of decoration, food quality or evironmental hygiene"

"Plus it is less noisy. However, only registered customers can acess the second floor"

'Such a thing happens?' Drew was shellshocked.

It was no wonder why the two bouncers blocked his way.

"How does one become a registered customer?" Drew asked.

"Well.. it's pretty expensive" Diane coughed embarrassedly.

 "Let me hear it"

"To be a registered member, you must pay a deposit of one million dollars. A special card would be given to you. So when you want to use the second floor, just flash it at the bouncers" Diane explained.

"Plus, registered customers get a thirty percent discount when they buy a meal" Diane was too busy explained that she failed to notice the excitement on Drew's face.

'Deci points! Deci points! Deci points!'

He could hardly contain his excitement. A million bucks would give him a thousand deci points. By then, his strength would improve by leaps and bounds.

"Miss. Diane, how do i go about the procedures for becoming a registered customer?" Drew asked anxiously.

 "Huh?" Diane thought she misheard.

 "What did you say?"

Before Drew could reply, Hugo who stood silently behind, beat him to it.

"Mr. Drew wants to become a registered customer"

The news felt like a bomb, landing on the listeners ears.

Some couldn't help but burst into laughter filled with mockery.

"You must be deaf huh? didn't you hear the prequisite? a million mulas! have you seen that huge sum in your life huh?" Bryan sneered.

"Sir, are you sure?" Diane felt uncertain.

Judging from Drew's clothes, he was worth only eighty dollars.

How could such a person fork out a million dollars.

"This man is sick in the head"

"He looks perfectly fine to me. I'd say, he's a deaf. Maybe he has hearing disorder?"

"Maybe he's doing this to impress miss Diane"

The customers in the first floor erupted into a flurry of discussion.

"You have to sign some legal papers and send your deposit to the resturant's bank account"

"Tell me the account number" Drew brought out his small java phone.

 Pft!

Ninety nine percent of all in the first floor burst into laughter. They were completely sure Drew was a clown here to waste their time.

Luckily, Diane was a lady who took work ethics serious. Although she had a feeling Drew was here to waste her time, she didn't turn him down.

She called out the resturant bank account number and keenly watched Drew, who punched some buttons on the java phone.

 "Done!"

Just as Drew's words rang, the phone in Diane's phone rang.

 "Father?" she answered the call.

"Ah my daughter. You did well" an old voice rang from the other end.

"What are you talking about father?" Diane's temples crumpled up in confusion.

"Are you not the one who conducted the registered customer deal? i just recieved a credit alert of two million from the resturant's bank"

Hearing her father's words, Diane opened her mouth agape. She didn't even know when she unconsciously let go of her phone.

 CRASH!

"Ah! the shattering noise of the phone screen brought her back to reality.

"Are you okay?" Drew asked in concern.

"Yes" Diane replied with a trembling voice.

"I have sent the money. Have you recieved it?"

Diane nodded hurriedly, like a greddy hen pecking rice grain.

"Then we can go and finalize the signing of the papers now right?" Drew beamed.

 "A-After you, Mr. Drew!"

Green liquid droplets slid down a bunsen on a lab table. Apart from it, there were other laboqatory apparatus.

Dr. Collins in his lab coat stood over another table.

Tied around the table was a man wearing only shorts.

The man's eyes were blindfolded and his mouth gagged.

Also, from the furious struggles, it was quite evident that it was a living being.

"Fret not. For if this should work, you would be opening a door to an array of endless possibilities" Dr. Collins flicked the syringe containing green liquid.

Grabbing the head of the blindfolded man, he sank the syringe into the flesh of his neck, emptying the contents of the syringe.

 Chomp!

The gag tore off, revealing rows of sharp fangs. The muscles of the man began to expand, going from lean to muscular as an athlete.

The man grabbed the blind fold and tore it off, revealing a pair of red bloody eyes.

 Snarl!

The man lunged at Dr. Collins, intent on tearing him into pieces of meat with his sharp claws.

 BANG!

A force threw the man backward, smashing against a wall. A huge hole on his chest. If one looked closely, they would be able to make out a black puddle in the location where the heart was supposed to be.

Dr. Collins looked behind him. A lady in lab coat leaned against the wall, resting a sophisticated looking gun on her shoulder.

"You destroyed my equipments in the aftermaths Meg" Dr. Collins frowned.

"What? you can just replace them with new ones. It's not as if you are doing this from your own pocket" Megan rolled her eyes.

"I won't split hairs with you. Have you done that job?"

"Yes. But aren't you taking things overboard? they a kids" Megan pouted.

"Who are also the leaders of tomorrow- Dr. Collins replied bluntly.

"Eighty percent of them won't survive this. Don't tell me you feel nothing at all"

"That little bit is a grain of sand, compared to many that lost their lives in the war. They died serving their nation. Plus, last time i checked, the government promised to support the family of the deceased"

"Forget it, i can't get through you" Megan sighed.

"That reminds me, i have a new job for you. It's relatively easy and doesn't go against your principles" Dr. Collins said.

Megan became disinterested.

"That's what you say always. Currently, your words hold no grounds"

"I just need you to monitor a person and maybe bring him to me. He has the potential. I know it" Dr. Collins passed a picture of Drew over to Megan.
