My eyes widened but not because she revealed that they have a wish or plan to kill me but because I have never seen Mariya so weak and helpless during the course of my stay here.

Placing my hand on hers softly, I smiled slightly which made her narrow her eyes.

"What are you smiling at? How on earth do you still find this funny? Adira they —".

"I don't know what to do", I cut her off, my words silenced her and her grip loosened a bit.

"I don't know whether to laugh, smile or cry in a situation like this", she looked at me confused as my eyes stung with unshed tears.
