Through their friendship, Gilbert helped Violet see the world in a different light. He taught Violet that true happiness couldn't be found in material possessions or physical appearance. Instead, genuine happiness came from within, from sincere relationships and being honest with oneself.
Violet pondered her life and realized she had been living a charade for a long time. She began to question the true values in her life and what she really wanted.
Gilbert also introduced Violet to the beauty of nature. They often went for walks in the woods, hiked up mountains, and enjoyed sunsets together.
"Violet, look at how beautiful this is," Gilbert said, pointing to the colorful sunset.
"Yes, I've never seen anything this beautiful before," Violet replied, her blue eyes shining.
