Chapter 2: Meeting Gilbert
One day, while Violet was shopping at the city's luxurious mall, she saw a man who was different from anyone she had ever met. His name was Gilbert, a man dressed modestly and wearing a genuine smile. He didn't seem entranced by the opulence of the mall. Instead, he walked calmly, admiring everything with wonder.
"Excuse me, are you having trouble finding something?" Violet asked, curiosity in her voice.
Gilbert replied humbly, "Oh, no, I'm just enjoying looking around."
Violet was intrigued by Gilbert's stark contrast. She couldn't take her eyes off him. Eventually, she decided to approach him. "Hi, I'm Violet," she said with her sweet smile.
Gilbert responded warmly, "I'm Gilbert. Nice to meet you."
They began to talk, and Violet learned that Gilbert was a simple-living artist. He didn't have much wealth, but he was incredibly content with his life. They continued to exchange stories, and Violet felt that she could be herself when she was with Gilbert. She didn't need to pretend or hide her unhappiness.
