Chapter 88: Returning Home

Alex and the others were finally returning. They had been through so much—from losing some of their own before even setting foot on land to conquering an entire tribe.

After everything, they were heading back, now accompanied by new faces.

This time, there were no unpleasant surprises. As their tribe came into view, Aurélio was the first to shout.

"Hey! Hey! Hey! Over here, we're back!" Aurélio yelled, waving enthusiastically.

From afar, members of the tribe noticed Alex and the others approaching by boat.

"The Chief is back! Go tell the others!" one of Alex's tribe members called out.

As they disembarked, Alex scanned the group waiting for them and saw his group leaders, his mother, and his sisters.

"Hey, we're back," Alex said with a smile.

"Welcome back, Chief!" everyone shouted in unison.

"Ha! Hey, Chief, what happened to your arm?" Joe yelled in shock.

It wasn't until Joe spoke that everyone noticed Alex's missing arm.

Shock and concern spread quickly. Group leaders Joe, Cornelius, Fred, John, and Abbe gathered around Alex, bombarding him with questions.

"Enough! Everything will be explained soon," Alex said, cutting them off. "Right now, I need to rest. Martins! You're in charge of them. Explain the situation and introduce the newcomers."

Without waiting for a reply, Alex made his way to his tent—only to stop in surprise when he reached the living area.

Instead of tents, there were now primitive houses. They resembled the mudbrick dwellings of the Middle East during biblical times.

"Wait, how is this possible?" Alex muttered, stunned.

"Ah, Chief, we made some discoveries and used them to build these stone shelters," John said proudly.

"Wow, you actually managed to surprise me," Alex said, entering the house designated for him.

Meanwhile, Martins was being overwhelmed with questions.

"Stop! Stop! Let me breathe," Martins said, exasperated. Damn it, Chief, how could you leave me like this?

"One question at a time," Martins demanded, trying to regain control.

"Martins, what happened to the Chief's arm?" Joe asked urgently.

"Our Chief had to fight the leader of another tribe in a competition," Martins explained, his voice heavy with emotion. "The result was that we won, but the Chief lost his arm in the end."

"What? I can't believe it! Wait—does this have something to do with those people who aren't from here? I noticed them as soon as they arrived with you. Were they responsible?" Joe asked, pointing toward the newcomers.

"No," Martins replied firmly. "They're part of our tribe now. Our Chief now leads two tribes. These people came here to introduce themselves. Go and meet them."

Reluctantly, the group turned their attention to the new arrivals.
