Chapter 147: Throbbing Head

He woke up in a completely strange room, one filled with a dim lantern, an empty bed, and the coldness of the night seeping in through the open window. It was late, possibly too late for anyone to be awake.

The first thing he felt was his throbbing head, causing him to groan and mutter under his breath.

He sat up, his gaze traveling towards the window. Something seemed off. He didn't feel right; he didn't feel like himself.

"Ahh," he groaned, holding his head.

What had happened? What was happening to him, he wondered, trying to comprehend the event that had unfolded, but no matter how he tried to remember, he couldn't...

Malik took a deep breath. Maybe it was the headache. The headache was making him forget what had happened.

He squinted his eyes around the room. This wasn't his room. He could not remember the little sturdy bed, nor did the table with a few swords on it nudge his senses.
