Chapter 118: Driving me crazy

Amara's eyes flew open as he hovered over her, leaning closer until she could feel his breath on her skin. From this angle, she had a clear view of his face, his full lips coming into focus.

He was breathing heavily.

"Princess," he drawled, watching her intently, "You drive me crazy," he whispered, then leaned even closer, his lips almost brushing against hers, but not quite touching.

Her chest heaved up and down. She had never been this close to a man before, never known what it would feel like to be in such proximity. Yet, she found herself yearning for his touch, wanting him to envelop her completely.

"Sala-"

"Hmm," he didn't wait for her to finish calling his name. His gaze was fixed on her lips, and Amara sensed his attraction, although she could only guess at his feelings.
