Chapter 127: Remnants of Poison II

I sniffled, my tears welling up at Nicole's words as I recalled Blaise's tender expressions as he gazed at me, and how eager he was to please me in bed. He was so vigorous, so healthy! To think every minute he spent with me was killing him inside, and we didn't know it.

 If I thought about it, it was Blaise's love for me that led him to this state. I should have insisted on resting after the first round― hell, I should have dragged him to Nicole to begin with, just to get her to examine him again. Perhaps she would have caught the poison before it coursed through his system.

I realized that I wasn't thinking realistically, and I was slowly descending into blaming myself for Blaise's state, but what else could I do? Why was Blaise always suffering when he was me? I gingerly clutched at his hand, rubbing it carefully. The cold clammy feel of his skin was so unlike him that it caused my anxiety to spike.
