Chapter 35: Repairing Carlos Artifact (Part 1)

The young man's words undoubtedly dealt a heavy blow to Daniel. He couldn't help but feel that everyone's gazes on him were full of ridicule, as if they were mocking his lack of knowledge.

Daniel felt a sense of unwillingness deep within. Once this mark was placed on him, how could he continue to fit into this circle?

"It's just a basic level Artifact. Even if it has an intermediate grade inscription, it doesn't prove much, after all, the limit is already set," Daniel said.

The young man gave him a sidelong glance. "Who are you?"

"Young Master Sabate. He is Daniel," Yannis approached and explained at the right moment.

As soon as he heard the name of Sabate, Daniel's expression turned paler. Although the Sabate surname was common in the country, the only person whom Yannis would address as "Young Master Sabate" was from the big family in that place.

Mikel Sabate didn't care about who Daniel was. Upon hearing Yannis's words, he let out a cold snort, "Narrow-minded. Not only does this basic level Amulet have an intermediate grade inscription, but its power rivals that of a Intermediate level Amulet. Just the fact that this person managed to create such a weapon that exceeds its grade, who's to say he can't create a Intermediate level Artifact with an advanced grade inscription in the future? And nothing's impossible for him."

With each word, Daniel's complexion turned a shade whiter. In the end, he almost turned into an ashen color, retreating into the crowd, too embarrassed to show his face again.

"How did you obtain this Artifact?" Mikel was more curious about the person who crafted the Artifact, such potential was exceedingly rare.

Everyone's attention focused on Samuel. The person praised by Mikel must be a talented Artificer, and quite a few had already become interested.

"I purchased the Artifact on the Red Espiritual Net. The shop is called 'World's Number One Artificer,' and the shopkeeper is named Ashe," Samuel reported truthfully.

Everyone secretly noted this name.

Mikel nodded, returned the Artifact to Samuel, and walked away.

Yannis immediately caught up to him and asked the young man, who was nearly seven or eight years his junior, "Young Master Sabate, you mentioned this is the second basic level Artifact you've seen with an intermediate grade inscription. Who was the first?"

"Who else could it be? I have other matters to attend to. You handle your own business," Mikel replied.

While Mikel didn't provide a clear answer, Yannis's steps came to a halt.

His heart raced, and the only person he could think of was that guy from Heavenly Path University.

Could it be an unkwon shopkeeper who had suddenly emerged on Red Espiritual Net had possess the same potential as the guy from Heavenly Path University when he was young?

He had his doubts, but he believed Mikel wouldn't lie.

Narrowing his eyes, Yannis realized that if he could win over this person, his position within the his family would rise, and he would gain access to more resources.

With this in mind, he immediately signaled to his steward.

"What can I do for you, Young Master?"

"Go and fetch Samuel, tell him I need to speak with him," Yannis instructed his family's steward.

Samuel had a pretty good idea of what this was about when he heard Yannis wanted to meet with him.

As expected, when they met, Yannis got straight to the point.

"Samuel, you're a clever person. I assume you know what I want to ask."

Samuel wore a wry smile. "Young Master Yannis, it's not that I don't want to tell you, but I genuinely don't know anything. I was introduced to that person by an acquaintance. They bought a weapon on the Red Espiritual Net and found it impressive, so they introduced it to me." He deliberately skipped mentioning Carlos, not wanting to implicate him.

Yannis furrowed his brow, understanding that Samuel was unlikely to lie. After Samuel left, he immediately dispatched someone to investigate.

After the gathering ended and he saw off Mikel, Yannis instructed his servants not to disturb him while he returned to his room and logged into the Red Espiritual Net.

He found the shop "World's Number One Artificer" that Samuel had mentioned and discovered that someone had reserved two intermediate level Artifacts, which were of a higher level than the basic level Artifacts Samuel had mentioned earlier.

Because someone had already reserved the Artifacts, others couldn't view the information about the weapons anymore. Yannis had some influence on the Red Espiritual Net and quickly found out by asking around.

Chapter 36: Repairing Carlos Artifact (Part 2)

"The items from this shop don't have a fixed restocking schedule. If you want to purchase something, you can send the shopkeeper a private message, but don't expect a prompt reply," he was informed.

Yannis was somewhat skeptical about this explanation. Running a business, it seemed unlikely that the shop owner wouldn't keep a constant eye on their shop. They usually linked their communication devices to receive notifications. However, to his surprise, it had been an hour with no response.

Yannis frowned and, displeased, closed the Red Espiritual Net.

...

Amalia logged into the Red Espiritual Net, but before she could check her messages, she received a message from Carlos. They had also exchanged real-world contact numbers.

Carlos sent a series of crying emojis in a single message.

"What's wrong?" Amalia inquired.

"Big Sister, my... my Artifact is broken again," Carlos replied from the other end of the communication device, near tears.

He had spent 1.5 million on that Artifact, and it had barely lasted half a month. He hadn't even paid off the debts he had accrued.

"How could your Artifact break? Did you get into a fight?" Amalia knew how robust her own Artifact was; it was impervious to most physical attacks.

Carlos hesitated as he explained what had happened.

Carlos had borrowed one million from his parents to buy this Artifact, and it had barely been in his possession for a few days before his cousin took an interest in it.

He wanted to trade his own Artifact for Carlos's, but he naturally refused.

After being rejected, his cousin, out of jealousy, started scheming against him in secret, aiming to destroy Carlos's Artifact.

Carlos, in a moment of carelessness, noticed a crack on the surface of his Artifact, severely reducing its power.

His cousin, having achieved his goal, immediately taunted Carlos, even saying that things he couldn't obtain, no one else should hope to get it either.

Carlos complained to the elder at home, but not only did his uncle and aunt not reprimand his cousin, they also sided with him, criticizing Carlos for not understanding how to care for and accommodate his younger sibling.

Carlos was filled with anger but realized his parents couldn't help him either. The more he thought about it, the more frustrated he became, leading to the scene where he sought Amalia's help.

"You can send me the Artifact, and I'll see if I can repair it," Amalia said after a moment of contemplation.

Carlos's eyes lit up. "Big Sister, you can repair Artifacts?"

"Yeah, I've helped other people with repairs before," Amalia said, referring to her previous life's experiences.

Carlos was eager to send his Artifact to Amalia.
