Chapter 2: Rebirth (Part 2)

Every ten years, the Rodriguez's main family would required each of their branch family to send their young family member to them.

This member had to be from the younger generation and would supposedly bring honor to the family.

However, it was also a method for the Rodriguez's main family to select promising members, and this selection process would often led to casualties.

Otherwise, Arthur Rodriguez wouldn't have had the original owner to become a stand in for Alex Rodriguez.

The Rodriguez's main family didn't require the representative to have the Rodriguez family surname; any relative from the branch was eligible.

In Alex Rodriguez generation, aside from him, only the original owner remained.

If Arthur didn't choose the original owner, who else could he choose?

He knew best about Alex Rodriguez capabilities as his father.

Sending Alex Rodriguez to the Rodriguez's main family was the same sending him to his death.

Arthur Rodriguez nurtured the original owner like a delicate flower, and causing her to have unwavering faith in him.

She never doubted the reasons the Rodriguez family had for bringing her there.

However, Grace Rodriguez and Alex Rodriguez didn't like her.

Although the original owner was sent to represent Alex Rodriguez at the Rodriguez's main family, it was also an opportunity to stand out.

In the minds of the siblings, the original owner seemed to have gained a significant advantage, and they often targeted her behind Arthur Rodriguez back.

Although their intentions only being to make things difficult for the original owner, they were oblivious to the fact that their jests, in her eyes, would ultimately cost her life.

The original owner only learned this truth before her death.

In the restroom of the club, she overheard a conversation between Grace Rodriguez and Alex Rodriguez.

she knew that the Rodriguez siblings disliked her and even looked down on her.

Their words weren't kind.

The one year familial warmth turned out to be just a deception.

The original owner treasured family bonds deeply, and upon hearing those hurtful words, her heart was struck with anguish.

Coupled with Grace Rodriguez's deception in tearing a page from her cultivation technique, the situation grew even graver.

That cultivation technique was a gift from Arthur Rodriguez to the original owner, and it was delivered through Grace Rodriguez.

However, as Grace Rodriguez disliked the original owner, she tore out a crucial page from the cultivation technique, unbeknownst to her.

With the original owner cultivated in the wrong order and her body harboring hidden dangers.

All it took was a trigger before catastrophic outbreak, and that trigger was the revelation of Arthur Rodriguez's true intentions.

Although the original owner soul had vanished, the pain of betrayal still lingered in her memories.

Amalia face twisted for a moment as she suppressed the lingering pain of the original owner.

The original owner's experience actually quiet similar to hers.

She also had once enjoyed a blissful family, but later her family was destroyed, and she become an orphan.

However, unlike the original owner, she was less fortunate, since she doesn't have the loving foster parents like she had.

She had to fend for herself from a young age, and not expecting anything from others or hoping for kindness, as those gestures might be a honeyed traps that was concealing a poison – similar to Arthur Rodroguez gestures towards the original owner.

Amalia wiped away the involuntary tears that had welled up on her face and left the neon-lit club, and come to the Rodriguez's residence, which was also brigthly lit.

Chapter 3: Rebirth (Part 3)

Arthur Rodriguez and his wife were in the living room watching the news.

The heartwarming scene of the couple made Amalia's mind recalling the images of their family of four having fun together.

those heartwarming scene didn't belong to the original owner; it was an atmosphere she couldn't fit into no matter how hard she tried, as she had been rejected from the very beginning.

"Amalia, why are you back? Weren't you out having fun with Alex and Grace?" Arthur Rodriguez turned his head upon hearing footsteps, and seeing Amalia returning alone.

Mrs. Rodriguez cast a faint glance at her, her lack of expression revealing that while they were on the same side as her children, she privately held no affection for Amalia, mainly because Arthur Rodriguez had cautioned her.

"They're still at the club, playing with friends. I came back early because I wanted to talk to you about something, Uncle." Amalia tugged at her tightly buttoned collar gently.

The clothes she was wearing didn't quite fit the original owner's physique; they were all sent by Mrs. Rodriguez.

They were either a size too big or a size too small, but the original owner never made complained about it.

Arthur Rodriguez raised an eyebrow, not because of Amalia words, but due to her attitude and tone.

It was as if she had suddenly gained confidence, and her gaze became firmer, with a touch less warmth.

"What are you going to say to me?"

Arthur Rodriguez always felt that his niece's temperament had changed after she went out for a trip.

"I want to move out from this house."

Amalia's understatement was like throwing a bomb into the seemingly calm water of the Rodriguez family.

"Why did you suddenly have this thought? Did someone say something to you?"

Arthur Rodriguez's gaze shifted to Mrs. Rodriguez as he spoke.

Having been a couple for decades, Mrs. Rodriguez immediately understood his husband gaze.

She then stood up to make a call, and summoning Alex Rodriguez and Grace Rodriguez to go home.

"No one said anything to me. It's just that my parents taught me from a young age to live up to my conscience. Uncle has treated me very well, but I can't keep bothering you like this. In fact, I've been working and saving some money for a year. I can totally stand on my own now." Amalia got straight to the point, and caught Arthur Rodriguez off guard.

"Are you working? Doesn't your aunt give you pocket money every month? If it's not enough, you can talk to your uncle. There's no need to move out," Arthur Rodriguez didn't want her to move out; he wasn't accustomed if things were slipping out from his control.

"The pocket money from my aunt is being kept in an account, and it was untouched. Due to my parents' teachings, I can't use others' money without a clear conscience. Thank you, Uncle, but my decision is final," Amalia said calmly.

She was just informing, not asking.

"How could your uncle be considered 'others'..." Arthur Rodriguez saw a stubbornness in her eyes, which reminding him of his late sister who had run away from home.

She had been just as determined as her.

She wouldn't chage her decision once it was made.
