Chapter 2: I'm back(chapter 2)
"We can arrange a meeting when and where to meet sir" she replied feeling excited it's not easy to get an appointment with the minister,she felt a little proud of herself.He stretch his hand and touched her hand "why don't we have the discussion now, let's get a room and talk you know like adults" he said with a smile which he thought was seductive.Jennie was surprised by his gesture she well knew what the minister meant when he said they should talk like adults and she felt disgusted.Do people still do this she thought,she used force to break from his hold."Am sorry sir but I have to decline your offer I do business to business not body to business we are good at what we do and I don't think this is necessary, I wont sell my body in order to get a contract" she replied forcing a smile on her face .She still didn't want to give up so it's better to be polite in case the minister changed his mind.
The man didn't stop smiling which was alarming "miss do you know how many construction companies have approached me to get the contract?I turned them down,they were willing to do anything for me to get the contract" he said feeling proud."I know sir but am not that desperate to sale my body for a contract that's not how we work,we are honest and we don't use dispecable means to get contracts" she explained angrily."Miss you should feel honoured to have encountered me,just one night and the contract is yours I hear your parents don't like you that much so maybe if they favoured you I might have considered but you're not their favourite because you're nothing special just a pretty face with nothing of her own,I like you and have decided to give you the contract so you should be grateful" he said with a smug look on his face.
Jennie couldn't take more insults and slapped him hard on the face.The minister was wasn't expecting that he was taken by surprise the smugness was completely wiped of his face "how dare you slap me" he asked angrily.His eyes turned red with viciousness and furry . Jennie was scared but decided to hold her ground,"you little bitch how dare you slap this minister,I'll make you regret ever meeting me, no one messes with me" he said."I'm not scared of you, instead of being morally upright you are corrupted to the bone you should be ashamed of yourself"she said and left.Though she looked brave while facing the minister she was literally shaking because of fear this won't be good for her she had offended the minister.
Jennie left the party,she stood at the entrance of royal hotel she was deep in thoughts she didn't want to go home.She knew her father won't be happy about what she had done even though she was not at fault.Tears rolled down her face,"why is my life this hard?"she said to no one in particular.She is always unlucky,her parents preferred her half brother and now the only thing that could have made his father proud of her was the contact but she had failed to get the contract and even ended up offending the minister.Jennie wiped her tears and took a cab back home,she knew her parents were still at the party so she won't be punished tonight.
They arrived at her parents mansion,she paid the taxi driver and walked into the mansion she entered the passcode and opened the door.She was surprised the lights were still on, that never happened before she heard some movements in the kitchen she tiptoed toward the kitchen thats when she saw someone she hated the most it was her half brother Jacob.She turned around to leave but she heard him clear his throat,"where are you going?" he asked with a not so friendly smile on his face.She was surprised she thought he hadn't heard her she turned back and smiled "brother you're back" she said."Yes " he replied with a menacing look on his face,"I'm back,did you miss your brother" he asked.He took a few steps towards her,Jennie took three steps back she was scared of her own brother no one except for her knew that behind this friendly and handsome appearance lied a heartless and ferocious dark beast who wouldn't even spare his own sister.
" Did you miss your brother?" he asked intimidatingly."Yes" she replied, "I heard that dad allowed you to go to a party is that true?" he asked seriously the was no smile on his face."Yes" she replied she was intimitaded she felt like a cornered prey with no where to escape."So you forgot about our deal do you need me to remind you?" he asked harshly.Jennie felt her heart beat faster she began sweating she knew what would happen to her if she ever broke their deal."I didn't want to go but father forced me to go" she replied quickly,"why couldn't you not come up with an excuse so as not to attend the party" he asked."I tried but dad didn't buy my excuse but don't worry I didn't interact with the elites " she replied.
"What about the contract father told you to get" he asked.Jennie was surprised she didn't know that her brother was well informed about her." I didn't get it" she replied.Jacob laughed for a minute he seemed satisfied with her response he enjoyed seeing his sister suffer it brought him immerse joy."Why didn't you get the contract" he asked, Jennie explained everything to him and he couldn't stop smiling."That's my sister you even managed to catch the ministers eyes" he said "when dad asks you about your meeting with the minister you know what to say" he added."Yes" she replied Jacob patted her back "good" he said and left.Jennie watched as her brother left with tears on her eyes.
