In the Tianmeng Continent, beast contracting was also a thing but it isn't widely practiced than beast rearing method because of the possibility of contract backlash when the beast became more powerful than its contractor.

Beast rearing is more conventional because it had less chance for the beast to betray its master in the future.

The most powerful beast to over get contracted was a Tier 7 Lightning Winged Tian Wu (White Tiger) which was under the Tianmeng Emperor.
