“Crown Prince, please wait.” Faolan stepped forward, halting us in our tracks. 

“What do you want, Pa?” Lowe asked.

“Why the hell are you talking to him, Faolan?” Queen Marama said through gritted teeth as the maids helped her up. “His power comes from the fact that he is mated with the Velunore Lycan.”

“You are wrong. Kloud does not need my powers. My Velunore Lycan recognized him as our mate the minute he walked into the royal court hall,” Ulysses explained. “I am thankful to you, Faolan, for pushing me into this marriage.”

Faolan took a step back and shook his head. “Impossible,” he repeated. “What are you, Crown Prince?”

“None of your business,” I snapped.

“You can't be real? It's impossible.” Faolan continued to shake his head.
