Chapter 85: Bliss

I took a short two-hour ride to Arpin village. I could have flown on top of Griff but I preferred the gators. 

By the time we arrived, it was already super late and there wasn't anyone around. There weren't many halfdead here in the first place but I expected at least one or two to be running around right about now. But here we were.

Late night, no demihuman or half dead around. Just some buzzing from the insects and some rustling in the water in the distance. I definitely wasn't alone. "Summon."

I casually strode closer to the riverside and waited for the Aleamanders to strike. However, they didn't. Cautious bunch.

I still saw some nests and eggs but they were past their prime. By this time, most eggs were half Aleamanders and would soon hatch. So, it was pointless trying to harvest them. But it wasn't pointless to try and take one of their eggs. After all, only then would the damn things come out of the water.
