Chapter 2: 2 Forest of Doors

Thomas agreed to the deal given to him from the Great Fairy. He was able to accept his circumstances and understand he had very few options.

He wanted to find a way home, but he was also feeling excited at the thought of exploring other worlds. Couldn't he aquire power, wealth, and even women like the protagonists of all those stories?

If he plays his cards right he could even become a god. After all there are many worlds that one can achieve god like power or even get immortality.

Now that Thomas thinks about it... isn't getting lost in the woods and ending up here actually a good thing?

After he accepted, she had him step into the water of the Great Fairy Fountain. She then cast a spell and the water rose and surrounded him. Gently hugging in a vortex that made changes to him.

Once the water died down, Thomas stood there observing himself in the reflection of the water.

He was now wearing a black tunic that looked similar to the pot smasher hero, and his body seemed to be in shape. He had lost his flab and his muscles now had definition, and his looks went from average to above average. His pale blonde hair framed his now somewhat handsome face.

"You are now a fairy hero. The tunic is a legendary treasure from our world, only worn by few heroes of the past, known as the [Shadow Tunic]. It allows you to hide in the shadows and darkness and erase your presence. It also allows you to see in the dark as if you were in the light. Dark based attacks are severely weakened when used against you to the point they are nearly nullified.

[A/N: The Shadow Tunic looks the same as the Dark Set from Breath of the Wild. The abilities of the tunic are changed completely to have an ability to meld into the shadows, provide night vision, and resist dark attribute attacks by 90 percent.]

"You also received a blessing, the spell [Nayru's Love]. When used, the Spell surrounds the user's or an ally's body with a diamond-shaped barrier, which lasts for exactly one minute, with a cooldown of 1 hour. [Nayru's Love] prevents all damage, but does not stop recoil from enemy attacks. It can be activated instantly on command, but only deactivates when it wears off. The effect of [Nayru's Love] wearing off is signaled by the barrier flickering while the noise that accompanies it falters. It drains a small amount of Magic Power when used. While activated, the user inside cannot use any other spells that use Magic Power or the effect will end instantly."

[A/N: I made some small changes from what the description on the wiki said about Nayru's Love. My version can be used on an ally target. But also gets dispelled if magic is used inside. And since it's an indestructible barrier, I gave it a 1 hour cooldown to balance it.]

As the Great Fairy finished explaining all Thomas had received, a fairy with a royal purple glow flew towards Thomas and began circling around him.

"This is Savi. She will be your partner from now on. Of the fairies, she is especially adept at finding treasures that hold power. When you are unsure of your path, she can help guide you in the right direction."

The Great Fairy spun in the air before diving towards the water. Before she disappeared below the water's surface she said one last thing, "Good luck, our hero. Return here if you need to rest or are injured. The waters of the Great Fairy Fountain shall rejuvenate you. Once you've expanded the fairies territory, I can bestow upon you more rewards. Good luck!"

And with a soft splash, she vanished into the fountain.

Thomas stood there for a moment. Everything that's happened so far has left him bewildered.

His companion, Savi, took the chance to greet him using what he thought might be telepathy.

(Hello master. I'm Savi! It's a pleasure to work with you.)

Thomas eyed the fluttering purple ball of light and said, "It's nice to meet you Savi. Let's get along well from now on. Um... Do you have any ideas of what we should do next?" He honestly had no clue where to start.

(Master. I think before taking on any worlds outside our control, we should visit one within, so that you can gain more strength. You currently lack offensive means. And I know just the world to visit to get you a quick power up. Follow me!)

Savi flew into the forest with Thomas following behind. With the Night Vision provided by [Shadow Tunic], Thomas was now able to see things in the forest clearly.

Massive trees as far as the eye could see. Each one similar to a redwood tree, but with one difference. Each one had a door attached to the trunk of each tree. They held designs that gave clues as to which worlds the doors lead to.

After walking for a few minutes, Savi finally stopped before a tree. Thomas noticed the door on the tree had 4 quadrants with card suits on each quadrant. Clover, Diamond, Heart, and Club.

"Which world does this lead to? Is it a world revolving around card games or something?"

(Silly master! This is a world of magic. Come on! Let's go!)

Thomas nodded and then grabbed the doors handle and pulled. He and Savi were suddenly pulled through the door and disappeared from the forest. Afterward the door slammed closed and silence returned to the area.

In a different forest, the sunlight created beams that illuminated the forest floor despite the thick canopy.

One large tree suddenly popped into existence that held a door on its trunk. The door swung open and a purple fluttering ball appeared followed by a young man wearing a jet black tunic with a hood.

The young man, Thomas looked around wondered what world they were in.

"Savi. Which way should we go?"

The purple ball fluttered left and right before spinning in circles and then flying off.

(This way! It's definitely this way!)

Thomas followed after her and eventually came out of the forest.

"Well, I think I know where I am now..."

Before the pair was a giant demon skeleton with a third eye socket in it forehead and tall horns that pointed to the sky, with one of them being broken at the tip.

On top of the skull was a statue of a person, but from the distance it was hard to see the details.

A small distance away was a village. It is mostly undeveloped with several houses randomly located within a wide grassy plain.

There was also a church there as well as a tower.

"Yeah... This is definitely the world of Black Clover."
