Chapter 60: Devil(Part-2)

Dante's mind raced with speculation. Is he targeting me? The masked Holder had already drawn many assumptions since the system issued the main quest to find Lucius. Yet, the idea that a common enemy of the four families was striking back seemed to make more sense. Him, being the target, also went inside his mind, though it didn't stay long. Hearing what the enemy said, he was now sure that he was the main purpose of the Attendant.

Suddenly, maniacal laughter erupted from the fire and smoke that obscured Dante's vision.

"Hahaha! Who would have thought that my prey would venture into my own lair! Though I suspected the four didn't have it, they served their purpose in providing me with entertainment," the obstruction dwindled, allowing the both of them to see each other clearly.

Was he referring to the system? Dante knew that possessing something, especially if it's unknown and powerful, there is a consequence.
