Chapter 101: Lurking danger

After hearing Karen's side of the story, even though the woman didn't go into details, Lisa was smart enough to piece the puzzle.

"So, you've been doing bad things with Linda all these while because you were scared of what her father might do?"

"Yes, Lisa. I promise you, I can't hurt my niece. I can't hurt you or your father. My sister was the only one who stood by me when our parents abandoned me. She gave up a lot of things for me, so how could I pay her with bad? As for your dad… I love him, Lisa. I can't hurt the man I love."

Lisa stared at her skeptical for a long time. She didn't doubt the fact that Karen loved her father. It would be safe to say that Karen loved that man even when Cassandra was still alive.

"How do I believe you're telling me the truth?" Lisa asked.

"I can't force you to believe me. You've known me for so long and you know–"
