Chapter 104: Chapter 103: Grandson Vs Grandpa (1)
After forming the reconciliation seal, both Hiruzen and Ken backflipped while forming hand signs.
'Lava Style: Lava Blanket jutsu'
The blanket of liquid lava enveloped Hiruzen who took a massive breath before exhaling a large amount of wind at a very high pressure.
'Wind Style: Infinite Breakthrough Jutsu'
The wind blew off the liquid lava in different directions and away from Hiruzen. Ken also flew back as he slammed into a tree.
Ken groaned as he went back to his feet.
'Damn, He knew that I was going to use that specific jutsu. Did he know it by just seeing my hand signs? But to think that a wind-style jutsu can just blow off my liquid lava just like that. To be fair, the wind style jutsu was too strong for a mere C rank jutsu.' Ken thought
"You are too predictable with that jutsu. I have not sparred with you for a while but I knew what jutsu you would use up first. You need to change up things so that your opponent is always on his toes and always thinks what your next move will be." Hiruzen said as he schooled his grandson who nodded at his words.
'Easier said than done. While he is right about me being predictable, lava blanket jutsu is the best opening move that I can think of but it's not that I have thousands of jutsus to choose from like him. Well, since he wants to see something new, Let's give him the taste of my magma fists. But before that, I need some shadow clones to make me a little unpredictable.' Ken created three shadow clones before his arms and hands got covered in massive amounts of magma.
The temperature also started rising due to the heat of the magma such that some of the fallen leaves near Ken turned to ashes despite not being in contact with the magma.
Ken launched himself towards Hiruzen who formed a single handsign that stopped Ken in his tracks.
Ken slowly looked down below as he mumbled 'You got to be kidding me!'
Hiruzen had used the Nara clan's shadow possession jutsu to stop Ken in his tracks.
Ken channeled a large amount of chakra through his feet to try to dispel the shadow possession and it worked. It would not have worked if Hiruzen truly wanted to keep Ken from moving but then there would be no point for this spar if Hiruzen started exerting much more power than Ken could handle.
Ken again rushed towards Hiruzen but this time in a zig-zag manner to avoid any more of those shadow attacks as Hiruzen just watched him amused.
As soon as he reached in front of Hiruzen, he punched with his massive magma fist while he kept his other hand ready to attack Hiruzen when he tried to dodge.
But to his surprise, his grandpa just stood there and reciprocated with a punch of his own.
It was comical to see Hiruzen's small fist which was covered by little chakra collide with Ken's massive magma fist. Hiruzen's sleeves burned in an instead but the same could not be said about his chakra-coated skin.
To Ken's shock, It was him that was sent flying.
Hiruzen had used senjutsu in that one instant which multiplied his physical strength and endurance which was the strong point of the monkey clans sage mode.
Hiruzen looked at his fist where only a small burn mark was present.
'To think he was still able to burn me even if just a little. That magma of his, is definitely hotter than the normal lava. If he manages to increase the temperature a little more and then he might be able to start giving me serious burns even if I use senjutsu chakra to empower my skin.' Hiruzen thought
While at the same time, Ken's expression was heartbroken. He had prided himself in creating that jutsu and Hiruzen had just shrugged it off just like that. If he knew that Hiruzen had used senjutsu, he might have been able to accept the fact.
Ken realized that he was still too weak in the grand scheme of things. But that did not mean he would give up. He had more tricks up his sleeves.
Ken looked at his shadow clones that had dispersed themselves in three directions and gave them a nod.
All three of them made hand signs as they enveloped the entire area with rubber which would make it difficult for Hiruzen to move. Ken too made hand signs while Hiruzen did the hand signs for the same jutsu as Ken. The only difference was that he needed fewer hand seals than Ken to use the jutsu.
Hiruzen amusedly looked at his grandson make hand signs before releasing the flames from his mouth at the same time as his grandson.
"Katon: Karyū Endan"
Both of them blew up huge amounts of flames that clashed against each other. Thankfully for Ken, Hiruzen had controlled the temperature and power of his flames to match Ken's or he would have been turned to ashes already.
As both the near A rank jutsu collided, a huge flaming explosion took place.
