Chapter 49: She Had Not Fully Opened up to Him

Edric had opened up to her about his, hoping that she would tell him about hers too, but she never did. 

She limited what she told him to what was necessary for him to know.

For instance, that Loreen's mother died when she was still a toddler, so she had no memories of her mother. She grew up with her grandparents, but they also died before she could even finish college.

Loreen barely opened up about anything else.

If Edric hadn't asked her, she wouldn't have even told him where her hometown was. 

Edric had once told her he could take a leave so they could visit her hometown, but she refused and told him there was nothing for them to do or see there so there was no use going.

Maybe, today was his chance to finally have a clue about what she was trying to hide from him.
