Chapter 60: Saved

Inside the ethereal realm of black and white, reminiscent of ancient Greek architecture, Selena sat on one side of the table, her form regal on the throne. Opposite her, Lucian appeared untouched, devoid of any bruises or burn marks as he was in his spirit form.

Her voice carried a weight of admiration as she spoke, "You've managed to suppress it. Good job."

Lucian met her gaze unwaveringly, replying, "Thank you. I doubt I could repeat it at Pact 5. I might lose control there."

Her whispered response, though soft, resonated loudly, "I know."

The realm began to crumble, fracturing before transporting Lucian back to the real world where he remained unconscious.

As he slowly opened his eyes, he was surprised to find himself not on the street but in a room illuminated by the warm glow of a gas lamp.

Lying on a bed, he adjusted his position to take in his surroundings.

"Where am I..." he whispered.
