Chapter 5: Chapter 5: The Odd Job
Late in the middle of the night, Luna snuck out quietly from her room at the Pokemon Center and down towards the lobby. She headed to a PC in the corner that hid the screen from most of the lobby, got online, and looked around making sure that nobody else was around before searching up "Human and Pokemon relationships".
Back when Luna was younger and still in Pokemon school, she remembered learning about cases a few hundred years ago about Humans marrying Pokemon. And how Pokemon and Human relationships used to be the norm. In recent years Humans and Pokemon in relationships, let alone being married, were disapproved of by many people. While it wasn't necessarily illegal, it was still something that was shunned by society as a whole. After Luna's recent encounters with Pokemon in such lewd and sexual manners, it had sparked a fire in both her soul and her loins.

She found that most Marriages done from fifty years ago to the present day were done for estranged religious reasons and not because of an actual relationship. Though there were some cases involving Pokemon that were granted the title of King or Queen, this was because Human Kings and Queens at the time were still in romantic relationships with Pokemon.
Luna went back and clicked on another link, "Is Pokephilia taboo?". Luna scanned the page nervously but calmed down as she read it.
'Pokemon and Human relationships, sexual or otherwise may be shunned upon many members of our society but, it may shock you to find that more people than you can imagine having relationships with their Pokemon!'

'Relationships between our species have existed since our beginnings and aren't going anywhere any time soon! Many people find love and comfort, emotionally and sexually, in the Pokemon that they are close to in their lives. Pokemon Trainers are especially involved in this statistic making up 30% of reported Interspecies relationships.'
Luna gulped as she looked around the lobby once more, making sure nobody was around as she read.
'The benefits of being in a relationship far outweigh the bad! It helps grow closer to your Pokemon and strengthen your bond with them! It helps build trust and show how much you care for them! Most people who are single and have anxieties with the public tend to have Pokemon for emotional support. Many of those people find being in a relationship with humans too hard for them and lean on their Pokemon for Emotional and Sexual needs!'
Luna scanned the educational piece a bit further.
'However, it is very important to remember consent on both sides of the relationship. Many Scientists and professors who have spoken publicly about Pokemon and Human relationships point towards the Harkness Test as the best working Guidelines for interspecies relationships. The Harkness Test is three basic rules to lead to a morally and legally healthy relationship with a Pokemon. First, does the creature have human intelligence or higher? Secondly, can the creature talk or communicate in a meaningful and truly comprehensible manner? Third, is the creature of sexual maturity for its species? And Luckily, Consenting Pokemon that are of age is perfectly fine to have relationships with Morally and Legally!'
Luna smiled as she thought about this. She went back to the search engine and looked at one last site that read, "Our Interspecies Relationship."
The site was a blog written by a couple including a Female in her twenties and a Male Gardevoir. In a vlog uploaded to the site recently, the Female Human and the Gardevoir sat on a couch facing the camera while holding hands. Luna skipped to the middle of the video.
"We were just so lucky to find each other!" Said the short black-haired woman, "I just feel that he truly understands me!"

Luna was a bit shocked to see a talking Pokemon again, the first and only time she had seen one was when she took a field trip to visit a famous lab in Spire Town in the north where the class was introduced to a talking Arcanine. She learned that Pokemon do have the ability to learn and speak human language, but most find it just as to communicate the way they do normally and choose not to learn.
Luna watched the loving couple explain how they met and how they try to keep their public affection a bit hidden while in major cities due to heavy prejudice. Luna finished the video and turned off the PC, satisfied with the info she had learned.
After heading back to her room, Luna laid back down in bed. She closed her eyes as she tried to fall asleep. But that feeling between her legs still wouldn't go away. Luna raised her brow, making a mental note in her head as she entered the building. As she stepped in, the smell of public pools filled the air. The walls were painted like the scenery of the beach, with many windows curved to the shape of the shell-like building that looked out upon the nearby beach. In front of her, a middle-aged man wearing swim trunks and a Hawaiian shirt greeted her.
"Hello, miss! Are you here to challenge Gym Leader Pisces or attend to our advanced training sessions?"
"H-hello!" Luna smiled, "I was just here to scope out the Gym today but, what exactly are your advanced training sessions?"
"Well, you see some trainers looking to challenge the Gym have a hard time finding other trainers at their own skill level. So we here at the Pisces Gym help trainers prepare for their Gym Battles by having our hired-on trainers help give out tips and battle trainers."
Luna put her finger to her lips as she leaned on her right leg, "Hmm. I'm down to try it out if that's alright?"
"Sure thing miss, we have an open spot right now if you'd follow me!"
The man led Luna down a row of battle arenas, all of the arenas were covered by an inch of water on their surface. On the boundaries of the arena, was a five-foot-wide pool surrounding the entire arena.
"Our training grounds allow the less experienced trainers to get used to fighting in a new environment, leaning towards the favor of water type pokemon."
"Very cool!" Luna enjoyed the view of a Pokemon battle going down as she walked by, still paying attention to the man in front of her.
"Very cool, indeed!" The man led her to an empty arena and walked out to the opposite side. "Alright miss, what is your name? My name is Fish!"
"F-Fish!?" Luna giggled before stopping herself, afraid that she'd upset Fish.
"It's a weird name, I know!" The man laughed as well.
"It's a unique name though! Mine is Luna!" she took out a Pokeball from her belt and tossed it forward, releasing Slither onto the field.
"Very well miss Luna, let us have a respectable battle!" Fish threw a Pokeball of his own, releasing a Chinchou onto the wet field.
The referee on the side of the field raised a flag and swung it downwards, signaling the start of the battle.
Without skipping a beat, Luna shouted, "Slither go get 'em! Use scratch!"
The dark-skinned lizard jolted forward rushing after the Chinchou, scratching it across its front before Fish could even get out a response.
"H-Hey, that was fast! Chinchou use SuperSonic!" The Chinchou waved its antennae as rays of sound waves hit Slither dead-on, confusing it.
The lizard stumbled, splashing the area around it as it scratched at random. The Chinchou, backed up a bit, staying safe and out of range of the Salandit's attack.
"Slither, use Ember!" The Pokemon heeded its trainer's words and shot off small fireballs from its mouth in random directions as it spun in a circle, both fire and water were kicked up into the air.
"Watergun!" shouted Fish. The Chinchou blasted the confused Pokemon with its jet of water, sending it flying backward.
Slither landed hard, skipping across the wet floor. It used its claws to hold its ground and get back up.
"Good boy, Slither! Use Ember once more!"
Slither seemed to knock off the confusion as it let loose another Ember attack aimed at the enemy Pokemon.
"Electro Ball!" Fish smirked as he spoke.
The Chinchou charged up a ball of energy as it took the brunt of the hit from ember, fazed only just a bit as it shot out the attack towards Slither.
"Dodge it!" Luna shouted desperately.
Slither got ready to dodge the attack, but the Electro Ball was shot upwards at an angle and was landing nearby. As the Electro Ball landed next to Slither, the water surrounding him fried him with the brunt of the attack. Slither fell slump into the water.
The referee raised her flag, "Slither is unconscious, Fish and Chinchou are the winners!"
Luna sighed as she went and picked Slither up in her arms, kissing his forehead and returning him to his Pokeball. "You did your best, buddy."
Fish pet his Pokemon proudly before returning him to his ball as well, "Well Played Luna!" he approached the bummed Trainer.
"Don't be discouraged, miss! All things considered, you did well. I do however recommend not using a fire-type Pokemon when fighting Miss Pisces, you will be at a severe disadvantage."
"Y-yeah, I only have two Pokemon, and he's gonna be essential to our battle..." Luna scratched her head.
Fish pat her on the shoulder, "Worry not, I've seen many a trainer come into the arena and defeat Pisces with only Fire-type Pokemon at their disposal!"
"Really!?" Luna looked a bit hopeful.
"They sure did!"
"Could you tell me some other things about Pisces?"
"Just a few things, Luna! I can't give you a step-by-step on how to defeat her."
"R-right!"
"The basics are that Pisces uses two water-type Pokemon in her battles and that her arena uses much more water than our practice arena here."
"Even more water!?"
"Think more like a swimming pool, and you'll be close to the comparison."
"Geez... I'm going to have to train a bit more before Slither is ready for something like that..."
"That's quite alright, there are plenty of trainers here willing to help so long as you have the money to provide it!"
Luna raised a brow, "W-Wait, it costs money to train here?"
Fish looked confused, "You didn't see the giant sign by the front counter?"
"N-no...?" Luna said awkwardly.
Fish sighed, "Alright then, this one is a freebie I suppose." Fish led Luna back out to the main entrance, "Next time if you have the cash, we'd be more than happy to assist you, miss."
"Sorry about that! I will when my budget is a bit more stable! S-speaking of, do you know anywhere that I can make some cash outside of Pokemon battles? My luck hasn't been the best lately!"
Fish cocked his head and scratched his stubble, "Well, downtown has that one place... B-But, never mind that! The local Pokemon Center should have a message board up for odd jobs that trainers can take up!"
Luna shook his hand, Thanks! That sounds great, you're a lifesaver!"

Luna's eyes lit up, "Perfect!" she smiled as she accepted the job and the info was downloaded on her phone/Pokedex. Luna spoke with the customer who issued the commission and was approved by them, being won over by her bubbly personality.
Later that night, Luna headed toward the Customer's residence, it was in a seemingly wealthy neighborhood, which sparked interest in Luna who hoped for a big payout.
Luna knocked on the door and a few moments later an older woman with gray hair, wearing a lavish blue dress opened the door.
"Oh! Hello Darling! You must be Luna!" The woman abruptly hugged Luna.
"Yes Ma'am!" Luna smiled, "It's nice to meet you, Miss Holly!"
Holly pinched her cheek, "You are just too sweet! Please, come inside!"
