Happy with his new pokemon his training began.
"When do you think your pokemon would reach the advanced stage?" Brassius asked after Daniel returned from catching.
"From what I know, when my pokemon evolve to their final stage, they would automatically reach the advanced stage." Daniel replied according to what he knew from his studies.
"Although that's not wrong, your pokemon should ideally reach advanced stage before evolution. This helps them reach elemental stage in the future easily."
"Elemental stage as you may know is a stage where the pokemon fully masters a certain type of energy. To reach this mastery a pokemon can practice move of a certain type repeatedly eventually reaching this stage. However, most trainers never have their pokemon reach this stage since the process is too time consuming. The shortcut to reaching this stage is evolution. Every time a pokemon evolves, it gains a substantial increase in terms of mastery of their own type of energy." Brassius patiently explained.
"How can a pokemon reach advanced stage without evolution?" Daniel was confused about this part, since advanced stage meant that a pokemon has reached a point where only a breakthrough can increase its strength.
"Not all pokemon wish to evolve but they still reach great heights. All you need to do is keep training them and not rush them into evolving. Once their strength and mastery increase to a certain point they would automatically be considered in their advanced stage. Of course, there is nothing wrong with evolving early but make sure the pokemon is strong enough to maximize the benefit of evolution."
Armed with new knowledge, Daniel assigned training routines to his pokemon.
Rowlet needed to learn more moves. His limited move pool held him back a lot. His flying mastery needed to increase since he would lose his flying type and increasing flying mastery would be difficult. Rowlet simply needed to be more versatile.
Rockruff also needed more moves and a battle strategy. Rowlet's aerial advantage worked well against most pokemon, especially at their current stage. He mostly needed ways to close distance between his opponents easily as his strength lied in close combat.
Charcadet and pawmi were new and were given time to adjust. He asked them to perform their moves to understand their battle preferences.
Charcadet was a special attacker with a split evolution. He was originally going to evolve charcadet into a ceruledge. But after giving it a thought he decided against it. Once rowlet evolved into decidueye, he became a ghost type, not to mention all his other pokemon were physical attackers. Armarouge would fill a much needed gap in his team.
He didn't need a lot of attention. He simply needed to grow a bit stronger and get some battle experience.
Finally, for pawmi he had a lot of ideas. This was definitely the best pawmi around. He decided to focus on pawmi's physical attack and speed. His current move pool was already quite good and Daniel believed with a physical electric move this pawmi was ready to defeat most rookie pokemon.
With a routine of almost constant battling and training, along with occasional pointers from Brassius, Daniel and his pokemon went through a phase of rapid development. Daniel even occasionally battled some trainers with rookie pokemon, having his win rate increase as time passed. Daniel could now be called a proper trainer, ready for his journey.
