Chapter 8: Listen here, you piece of ****!
"You know lying is bad, right?" Edward scolded with his hands on his waist. He's currently standing in front of a badly bruised man, sitting on the ground like an obedient kid.
"Who are you? My mom?" The bruised young man retorted.
"Actually, I'm your Daddy you little shit!" And~ another round of beating start.
(Flashback)
"I am." Edward answered while grinning like an evil bastard.
"So what if I lied? What can you do to me?" Adam taunted. Everything can be solved peacefully if he wanted to. BUT! The System has just issued a mission to him just now.
Mission : Fight or be killed! Or not?
Detail : A mysterious and powerful being has revealed his existence in front of you for reasons untold. Survive this encounter, and be rewarded heavily. Rewards will be decreased greatly once failed.
Reward : 1Billion EXP, Fragment of Arcane Technology, Knowledge Fragments of Being from Beyond
Failure effects : Comatose, Minus 99.99% reward, High chance of dying
"For the sake of 1 Billion EXP points!" Adam bellowed as he attacked Edward.
(Flashback ends)
"Listen here you little shit!" Edward threatened.
"Pfft!" Adam couldn't help but almost broke a laugh as he suddenly recalled a certain meme hearing Edward's words. And another round of beating rain down on Adam.

Adam were beaten black and blue by Edward and he's currently laying down on the dirt ground. His power suit were ripped and destroyed, strewn around him.
Edward dust his hand and smiled in satisfaction.
"Now that's what I call. An art masterpiece." He said as he look at the battered Adam.
"This doesn't hurt at all." Adam said with difficulty.
"Wow! You got guts to still taunt me even in that state." Edward laughed.
"Unfortunately, you have failed your mission." He adds. Adam's eyes widened as a reminder from the system entered his vision, stating that he has indeed failed.
"What the?!" Adam suddenly got the energy to voice his surprise. The System seems to comply with this person's will?! What in the world is happening?!
"Hehehe~ surprised?" Edward cheekily taunt Adam, this time around. However, only silence greets him as Adam has already fainted from the pain, and shock.
"What a bummer." Adam fainting has really disturbed his mood. Well, not much for him to do at this point. Nope, that's a lie. He could treat Adam back to full health using his power instantly. But should he do that? Adam is just a stranger to him at this point after all.
Snap!
Edward snapped his finger and both of them suddenly disappear from the Grand Canyon. Appearing at a hospital in Texas city.
"Help! Help!" A guy rushed into the hospital, carrying a badly bruised person on his back.
Seeing this, several nurse and a doctor approach the man shouting for help after ordering some workers to get a ward bed.

"Ugh..." A pained groan escaped Adam's mouth as he regained his consciousness.
"Where am I?" Adam muttered as he look at the unfamiliar surrounding he's in. The air smell and taste like medicine.
"Hospital?" He said, trying to sit up on the bed.
"You're awake?" Adam heard the voice of a man. He shift his head to the source of the voice and saw a familiar, yet unfamiliar face sitting beside his bed. Peeling an apple using a short knife deftly and skillfully.
"Who are you?" Adam asked vigilantly. The last thing he remember before he passed out, is the notification from the system.
'The System!' His eyes suddenly widen, recalling the identity of the person beside his bed.
"Edward..." Adam spoke in grave tone. He recalled how this guy ragdolled him back in the Grand Canyon. His power suit were ripped off of his body and crushed to pieces in front of him.
"Easy boy. Want some?" Edward said, slightly lifting the apple in his hand. Adam took a deep breath to calm his mind.
"Not hungry." He said. His eyes still trained on Edward.
"Chill out, Mr. Sherlock. Can we talk now?" Edward shrugged. As he put a slice of apple in his mouth, Edward asked Adam if he's open for a conversation.
