Chapter 8: Chapter 8: The Shock of the "Giant Tusk Wild Boar" and William (Request for Chase Reading)

A flash of silver light appeared suddenly, and an arrow zipped through the air before flying into the bush.

Inside the bush was a rabbit foraging for food, its light gray fur starkly contrasting with its surroundings.

In the next instant, the grey rabbit seemed to sense something, its fur bristling!

Its gray pupils swirled frantically as if it was about to leap.

But the arrow in the air was faster than its speed.

The sound of cutting through the airflow erupted, and a splash of blood burst forth as the grey rabbit was pinned firmly in place.

Milton Cheney set down the longbow and walked towards where the grey rabbit was.

He reached out to pull out the arrow stuck in the rabbit, its blood gushing out and dripping to the ground.

When the blood had mostly drained, Milton Cheney picked up the rabbit by the ears and then dug up some dirt with his long sword to bury the blood.

"Grey Furry Rabbit, not much value."

Milton Cheney examined the grey rabbit before putting it back in its original place.

The prey from the hunt could be carried with him or left where they were for someone specialized to collect later.

After fifteen days, all the values would be tallied, and the person with the most valuable prey would receive a substantial reward.

The reward was secondary, the person ranked first would gain significant prestige among the young nobles.

Passing by the Grey Furry Rabbit, Milton Cheney proceeded deeper into Sun Mountain.

This hunt was a good experience for him.

Although it couldn't truly test his strengths as a Peak Quasi-Knight.

But it was a simple test of his knight techniques.

Just like the arrow he just shot, which was clearly seen by William following far behind.

He only gave Milton Cheney a brief coaching on archery.

But looking at the arrow Milton Cheney had shot, it was clearly a display of skilled archery!

Although William was surprised, he didn't think too much about it and attributed it to Milton Cheney's highly talented archery skills.

......

Milton Cheney traversed the primeval forest, moving from the outer area of Sun Mountain towards its deeper parts.

Compared to the outer area of Sun Mountain, there were more wild beasts in the deeper parts.

Although it had been cleared once before, there were still lots of wild animals left that posed a threat to humans.

But with William as his guard, Milton Cheney could boldly go deeper.

Even without William, Milton Cheney could have ventured deeper on his own.

His cultivation as a Peak Quasi-Knight meant that very few wild beasts could threaten his safety.

The name Sun Mountain also had its story.

It was said that on a certain day of the year, the Three Sun would appear simultaneously on the peak of Sun Mountain, incredibly splendid and dazzling, thus the Marquis of Dawnstar named it Sun Mountain.

Sun Mountain used to be a seldom-visited place, but since it was designated as the territory of the Marquis of Dawnstar, it had undergone renovations.

The More Castle standing on the mountain peak was very famous throughout the Frostwinter Kingdom.

Even the Marquis of Dawnstar would come here for few days every year.

To think, compared to the castle where the Marquis usually resided, this place was exceedingly remote.

Suddenly, Milton Cheney heard a rustling sound from the bushes ahead.

After entering the deeper parts of Sun Mountain, he stayed constantly alert, always vigilant to the sounds around him.

So, when the sound came from the dense bushes, Milton Cheney quickly reacted.

He agilely stepped aside, his body nearly immediately appearing behind a large tree.

The large tree's robust trunk could perfectly shield his body.

Milton Cheney held his breath and slightly peered out.

He saw an immensely large wild boar appear before him.

The boar was covered with dark brown bristles all over its body, brawn spread across its body, eyes exposed, and the bristles could not conceal the boar's strong and powerful muscles.

Two straight and long tusks extended outward, each one about forty to fifty centimeters long.

Its tusks were conspicuous and sharp, with big pointed ears erect on both sides of its head, and sharp short spines on its tail.

"Giant Tusk Wild Boar!"

Milton Cheney muttered in his mind.

The Giant Tusk Wild Boar could indeed be said to be an extremely ferocious wild beast in the forest, its massive size a nightmare for many.

Milton Cheney had not anticipated encountering such a fierce beast in the cleared parts of Sun Mountain, but he wasn't too worried.

The Giant Tusk Wild Boar loved dwelling in dense bushes excessively.

Its temperament was extremely aggressive, and this type of wild boar had short but stout limbs, so its speed was also extremely fast.

In the next moment, the Giant Tusk Wild Boar's nose twitched slightly, its exposed eyes firmly fixating on the large tree behind which Milton Cheney was hiding.

"I've been noticed!"

The moment he was targeted, Milton Cheney didn't hesitate and quickly reached behind him to grab an arrow from his quiver.

The next moment, his body slightly leaned back, and his shoulders tensed up.

The tense bowstring was instantly pulled taut by Milton Cheney. His knuckles bulged and turned slightly pale due to the excessive force.

It was just a moment; he released the bowstring.

A sharp sound rang out as the arrow shot like lightning towards the side of the boar's belly.

Milton Cheney had aimed for one of the softer parts of the Giant Tusk Wild Boar's body.

The arrow that pierced through the air was lethal!

Not only did the Giant Tusk Wild Boar in front of him fail to react.

Even William, who was prepared to intervene from not far away, was stunned.

As expected, accompanied by a screeching and impact sound, the arrow plunged straight into the side of the boar's body.

The Giant Tusk Wild Boar struggled to escape, but the arrow that had penetrated its body allowed it only to stagger a few steps before it collapsed on the spot, unable to move.

Bright red blood gushed out like a fountain.

With its intense struggling and twitching, fresh blood soaked the surrounding soil red.

The painful roar was its last sound in this world.

With his skilled-level archery combined with the strength of a Peak Quasi-Knight, Milton Cheney had slain a Giant Tusk Wild Boar, a creature comparable to a Quasi-Knight, with a single arrow.

"How could this be? Your strength!"

Milton Cheney felt a breeze pass by, and William appeared in front of him, his face full of shock and disbelief.

At that moment, he couldn't care less whether it was Hunting Day or not; the Young Master's strength was clearly abnormal.

He was afraid that Milton Cheney had taken some Secret Medicine to enhance his strength, which could have serious side effects.

Such Secret Medicines should never be taken lightly.

Most Secret Medicines that didn't match with specific Breathing Techniques had severe repercussions.

The next moment, William quickly removed Milton Cheney's vambrace, grabbed his wrist, and felt the bones, his face growing even more shocked.

"Peak Quasi-Knight bone density, how is this possible? Tell me, have you taken any Secret Medicine?"

William spoke with a grave tone, his hand still clutching Milton Cheney's wrist, which he couldn't break free from.

However, Milton Cheney wasn't surprised; he had anticipated this reaction when he displayed his strength.

He had mentally prepared for this moment.

Thus, Milton Cheney couldn't help but laugh:

"Sir William, no need to worry too much, you can think of it as 'Innate Divine Strength'.

My strength has always been great, but I never showed it.

It was only recently, after I started following the Path of the Knight, that I realized my strength was far greater than that of ordinary people!"

Hearing this, William released Milton Cheney's wrist.

He frowned in thought, seemingly recalling something in his eyes with a hint of surprise as he looked at Milton Cheney.

William instinctively believed Milton Cheney's words.

Because he felt there was no reason for Milton Cheney to lie to him about this.

He felt he had perhaps been a bit too impulsive. Secret Medicines were not easy to come by.

He had just been too worried about Milton Cheney and had subconsciously overlooked that Milton Cheney had no access to such medicines.

In Frostwinter Kingdom, Secret Medicines were contraband.

"I'm not sure whether to say you're lucky or unlucky, Young Master. Innate Giant Strength isn't very rare; there have been many cases in the history of Frostwinter Kingdom."

William hesitated in his tone, but then he continued:

"But as far as I know, it's very difficult for those with Innate Giant Strength to activate the Life Seed and become Knights. Out of the hundreds known in the Kingdom, only one became a Knight."

After saying this, William subconsciously looked at Milton Cheney's face, presumably hoping to see a look of disappointment.

But to his surprise, there was no disappointment on Milton Cheney's face; it was serene and calm.

Milton Cheney's expression did not change, but his mind was slightly startled.

He knew his own situation; he had just made up the 'Divine Power' part.

He had thought William wouldn't believe it, but it turned out that such a concept really existed.

Of course, he wasn't disappointed because he wasn't truly born with Divine Power.

He was simply less talented, but with the Simulator, his future would undoubtedly be strong.

Still curious, he asked:

"Sir William, do you know that one person who was born with Giant Strength yet became a Knight?"

Hearing this, William thought Milton Cheney was confident that he could emulate that one similar figure who had become a Knight.

So he nodded gently:

"Knight of the Earth, Terrence Mosley! One of the Kingdom's Epic Knights!"
