Chapter Seven : The ring unlocks

The next day after his morning routine Joe decided to go to the market for some purchases for his coming expedition. He had a long list of items to purchase like potions and supplies.

The sun was high in the sky as Joe stepped into the bustling market of Coastfield. The air was filled with the aroma of spices and the chatter of vendors hawking their wares. John was on a mission, an expedition to the eastern forest, a place known for its dense vegetation and exotic wildlife.

His first stop was at an old alchemist workshop, a small shop filled with shelves of potions and herbs. The shopkeeper, an elderly woman with a kind smile, handed him a basket. "Healing potions, antibiotics…you're preparing for a journey, aren't you?" she asked. John nodded, picking up vials of glowing liquid and packets of powdered herbs.

Next, he visited the blacksmith's shop. Amidst the clanging of metal and the heat of the forge, he purchased traps designed for catching animals. They were sturdy and compact, perfect for his expedition.

As he moved through the market, he spotted a familiar face. It was Amy, his friend from the guild, standing with her party members. They were hunters like him.

"Joe" Amy called out, waving him over. He walked towards them, the items he purchased in his bag.

"Preparing for another adventure?" she asked with curiosity.

"No the same one as before I'm heading to the eastern forest."

Amy's eyes widened in surprise. "Oh yeah you said it last time," she said. "How's the preparation going, I see your hands are full."

They chatted about some past adventures. Despite being in different groups they always stayed in touch, keeping their friendship solid.

As the sun began to set, they bid each other farewell. "Stay safe," Amy said as Joe turned to leave.

With his supplies secured and he was done with the purchase, Joe was ready for his expedition.

As Joe walked away from the bustling market, he felt something was missing. His bag was filled with supplies for his upcoming expedition, and he was ready for whatever lay ahead in the forest. But as he walked, he noticed something unusual. The ring on his finger, a simple silver-colored ring was glowing with golden light.

A sense of unease washed over him. "Now it's coming out I need to reach my place. They contained a special gift that would help Joe to be more powerful. He glanced around, ensuring no one else had noticed the strange phenomenon. Swiftly, he slipped the ring off his finger and tucked it into his pocket, hiding its mysterious glow from prying eyes.

With a newfound urgency, Joe quickened his ran, passing through the crowd of people toward the inn where he was staying. His mind was filled with questions.

'What will be inside it ?' 'Will it be a Pokemon or something? maybe it's Mjolnir or Storm Breaker?' 'Oh god, that will be so cool'. Joe couldn't contain his excitement the fan boy who was sleeping inside his woke up and made a chaotic mess in his mind.

Upon reaching his room, he closed the door behind him and exhaled a sigh of relief. He reached into his pocket and pulled out the ring.

"O my god this is it. It's really happening" Joe said to himself.

Joe checked the ring it was glowing in a golden shine.

"Wait how should I open this ring ?" Joe asked out loud.

'Come on dude you have read many manhwa to know that' and then he passed some of his mana to the ring.

And surely the ring shined more any a box came out of it.

Joe stared at the box in disbelief. It was intricately carved with symbols he didn't recognize. With excitement in his mind, he reached out and lifted the lid.

Inside the box was a fruit unlike any he had seen before. It was large and oddly shaped, with swirls and yellow in color. It was a devil fruit - a mythical fruit that would grant powers to those who consumed it.

"F#ck yeah" Joe shouted. He took the devil fruit out of the box and jumped with joy, it was a comical scene.

He examined the fruit closely, trying to identify it. Each devil fruit was unique and granted different abilities. But without knowing its type or power, consuming it would be a gamble.

Joe sat back in his chair, holding the mysterious devil fruit in his hands. His mind raced with questions.

"Which devil fruit is it, is it a Logia, a Zoan type, or a Paramecia" He wondered.

'Well whatever it is I should eat it, God please don't be jacket fruit' Praying to god he ate the whole fruit quickly.

"Ewww this thing is disgusting what the hell is this, Owww God why, why" After shouting some nonsense he regained his cool.

'This is it I'm gonna try it' After preparing himself he went out of the Inn to the nearest training ground, after confirming there was nobody around Joe aimed his hands in the air and tried to release something.

Suddenly a bright golden beam went to the skies from his hands and disappeared into the night sky.

Joe was shocked and delighted to find out he had just eaten one of the logia devil fruit the glint-glint fruit.
