Chapter 138: She's Crazy

"My mother doesn't like that we are together."

Mei Xing's stomach churned at Lu Aotian's words. Simply put, his mother doesn't like her.

Her countenance fell.

"Oh." Her voice came out in a whisper. "I..."

No matter how hard she tried, Mei Xing couldn't bring herself to say anything. She was too shocked and yet confused about the information.

Lu Aotian watched her expression. His heart ached, seeing her face go from worried to shock to confusion and something akin to pain. He didn't like that he was the cause of that.

Mei Xing attempted to stand once more but Lu Aotian wouldn't let her. Instead, he pulled her closer to his bare chest.

"Look at me, love," he urged with a gentle voice. Seeing as Mei Xing refused, he hooked his finger under her chin and tilted her head up.

"Fuck, baby. Don't cry." He cupped her cheeks, resting his forehead against hers.
