Chapter 111: Plan Failed

Lu Yuxi's voice trembled as she dialed Mei Xing's number. Her mind raced with several emotions as she stared at her phone screen.

Unlike in the past when she was faced with similar situations as Mei Xing, Luo Yuxi couldn't do anything and became a chip for their parents' business.

Still, the hope they had from their marriage faded.

Now, Mei Xing had been the first to confront their parents, to stand up for what she wanted. When that occurred, Luo Yuxi joined her parents in scolding Mei Xing, thinking she was bringing doom to their family.

And now, Luo Yuxi felt a mix of guilt and gratitude towards Mei Xing.

She placed a hand on her chest. Her thoughts had only spiralled making her heart beat faster.

"Pick up please." Luo Yuxi chewed on her bottom lip. "Just…"

"Hello?" Mei Xing's voice cackled through the phone's speaker.
