I told Sophie about my call with Georgie and she didn't seem surprised.
'It appears that my rate of interest in your story is falling.' She says dryly.
'Oh come on. You always like this.' I roll my eyes.
'No. I don't!' Sophie yelled at me. She's never done that before.
'You startled me. What's going on?' I'm surprised at her rude behaviour.
'Are you dumb? I told you to stay away from George. What's wrong with you?' She's yelling again.
'What's wrong with me? What's wrong with you? Why are you yelling at me? Why don't you want me to date George?' Now, I'm yelling back.
I hear her scoff. 'That's it? He doesn't talk to you for months and the moment he appears, you wanna date him? Is that it, Charlotte Melbourne?!'
'Yeah. That's it, Sophia Blackburn. I want to date George!' I yell again.
'Fine. Have a nice life then. And I swear to God, our friendship is over.'
'Fine.' I threw my phone to the floor and broke into sobs. It wasn't supposed to end like that. Why does she not want me to be happy? She's my best friend.
Someone throws my door ajar. It's dad. 'Queen, would you be such a darling and put your brother to sleep? He's making such a fuss and I'm really knackered. So is Mum.'
I wipe my eyes and sniffle quietly. 'Okay.'
'Are you alright?' He asked with concern.
'Yeah. I'm perfect.' I answer without looking at him.
'I won't leave till you look at me, Queen.' Dad's stubborness appear out of nowhere and I sigh. Now, I know who I got it from.
I lifted my face slowly to meet his.
'Been crying?' He asked.
'No. Just allergies.' I lied.
'Be careful next time. And if you need anything, I'm one yell away.' Dad smiled. 'Come here.'
I buried my face in his chest and let him pat my hair. 'You're going to pull through whatever it is you're going through.'
'Thanks, dad.' I said quietly.
He kissed my forehead. 'Good night, love.'
'Good night, dad.' I watch him leave then exhale softly. 'Now, it's time to put that little monster to bed.'
It took him a millenia to answer the door. What the hell was he doing in there?
Finally the door was opened.
'What the hell were you doing?' I gritted my teeth.
'Making a private call.' He lets me in.
'Private call? With who?' I asked. Who does this shorty talk to?
'Some girl in my class begging me to be her boyfriend.' Johnny crosses one leg over the other, pointing at his unmade bed.
I roll my eyes and motion to straighten the rumpled sheets. 'Human girls actually like you?'
He scoffed. 'Don't be mean. They do. In fact, I rejected 6 of them today.'
I'm done dressing the bed and I sit on it. 'Why would you reject them?'
He inches to the bed and lies beneath the covers. 'They were not in the least pretty, not in any conventional sense.'
'Jeez. That's cold.' If anyone told me that, I'd be heart broken. Speaking of heart breaks, I remember Sophie's words and my eyes blur with tears. I blink them away.
'Put me to bed. I command thee.' He points the Hogwart's wand he got from a Harry Porter fair we went to last year. He laughs but I don't return it.
'What a party pooper.' He put the wand away and I get to my feet.
'No goodnight kiss?' He pouts.
'You mind me putting you to bed with a backhand?' I ask.
'No.' He replied immediately.
'Goodnight, loser.' I turn on the starry light and leave the room.
Insomnia sank in so I decided watching Shakespeare's ROMEO AND JULIET in Spanish subtitle and it worked. I slept my ass off.
Thursday
07 : 43 am
I wish mum wouldn't drive me to school. I wish Sophie would pick up my call. I wish I would skip school.
'Stay safe, darling.' She beams a smile at me and I return it.
I turn to the school building. If only I could run away.
'Charlotte!' Two voices yell. Now, it's three. What's going on? I whip around only to see Gracie, Scott and Matty running towards me.
'Are you okay?' Matt asked as he jumped into my arms.
I'm taken aback but I reply. 'I'm fine.'
He pulled away. 'Any injury? Lemme see.'
'No. I'm fine. Seriously.' I wish I didn't smile. It wasn't genuine.
Just as Gracie is about to talk, we hear squeals.
Lin is being carried in Levi's arms as though she was the bride and he was the groom. Jacob and the rest of Alan Queens follow them. The sight irritated me. They approached us.
'They're coming this way. Act natural.' Scott ran his hand through his hair.
'Babe, please put me down.' Lin tells Levi and I struggle not to roll my eyes.
'No. You can't walk.' Levi cooed. That P.D.A was disgusting for my eyes. And I'm not saying it out of jealousy.
After displaying PDA's that attracted aww's and camera shots from the audience, the couple finally reached an agreement. Levi put Lin down and she links arms with me.
'Charlotte, I'm sorry.' She begins to tear up.
If I told this wench "No", I'd look like the bad guy. Everyone was looking at us. I pat her arms and whisper. 'I forgive you.'
She put her arms around me and we hugged.
This scene erupted an applause from te students crowding us. Before she pulled away, I completed my sentence in a whisper. 'I forgive you. Not yet.'

(Jacob's POV)
Charlotte joined us for lunch when I asked. Frankly, I thought she wouldn't. Seeing that I failed to protect her at the previous H. A. S. Everyone was eating but she wasn't. Was the food not to her taste? What could've gotten her so upset? Then I noticed she was watching - watching, irritated, as Levi appeared so enamored with what Lin was saying that she looked as though she would slap him any moment from now.
'Charlotte, you okay?' Scottie asked and everyone looked at her.
The corner of her lips turned up in a smile that made her beautifully attractive. 'I'm fine. Excuse me.'
She gathered up her tray of untouched food and left.
'Excuse me.' I took up my tray and followed her.
She was hurt and I want to know why. Was it Levi's fault? Was it Lin's? Or both?
Before I could find her, she was gone.
(Charlotte's POV)
'Hey, Melbourne.' Josie approached me.
'Hi.' I reply softly.
She took one look at me and shook her head. 'You're not okay. Come with me.'
We went to the roof. It was emptied of students thankfully. There was a picnic set on the floor. Did she plan this?
'I wanted to get away too. I needed a partner. Glad I found you. Now, I can tell you all my problems.' She took off her shoe and sat on the blanket. 'Come on.'
I joined her on the blankets. It was rich and soft. The cozy fabric brought a certain warmth I craved and I couldn't help but pat it. Josie offered me a biscuit and I took it.
'Thanks.' I reply awaiting her "problems."
It started. 'My boyfriend broke up with me.'
Oh. 'I'm sorry.'
'Eat up. I'm just getting started.' She smiled through tears.
Hearing Josie's story connected all the dots. Now I know why she was upset when I asked her about competitive dance. Her boyfriend had been her dancing partner and both of them had been arguing alot since then. It was indeed difficult to console her when I was hurt too. And she could tell.
'My bestfriend broke things off with me.' I told her and she sobbed more.
'I'm so sorry.' She dropped her biscuit and pulled me into a hug.
'It's not your fault.' I pat her back.
'I know' She sniffled as she cried. 'We both need mending.'
I sniffled quietly till the waterworks came along.
