CHAPTER FORTY SIX
'Karen! Karen! Karen! Where are you? I can't seem to understand anything. Did you really leave me or is someone trying to mess with me? Did you leave me or someone is yearning for their hearts to be ripped from their bodies? Did you…fuck all these! This isn't me. I finally open up to someone and this person is my chosen mate and this person leaves me, days before her coronation and our mating ceremony? Insane!
You even lied about coming from Lestrange Village. So you had all these in mind, that was why you made yourself available. Those kisses were not real kisses - your lips were only telling me lies. Your touches that I have burnt on my skin were never to show affection, they were only there as a distraction. I remember loving you immediately when I saw you but I was still wary of you. Not having a wolf and not having any means to know I am your mate, you always acted like you wanted to run, I knew. You were smart, I would give you that but I am an Hernandez, I am resilient!"
Kate came to the pack to see what had happened to Dr Connie. She knew there was a ninety percent possibility that she did see Stephan and she had tried to mentally prepare herself. When she got to the mansion, Alpha Ralph was not in and as Dexter told her when they saluted one another at the gate, Aloha Ralph had been spending almost all his nights and part of his days in the cave. He did not look anything like what he used to before. Nanny Freya had told her about Karen's disappearance and how there was a possible chance that Karen had left willingly…that didn't sound good!
Everything sour was happening at the freaking same time…who is going to help the other recover?
"Stephan, would you let Dr Connie go now? He just came to help me get my things and you are detaining him like he walked in here to steal?" asked Karen, her eyes blazing and her hands on her hips.
"I didn't do it for that. I did it to see you" said Stephan in a small voice.
"Are you hurt anywhere or do you need like treatment or something because that might be like the only reason we should be in the presence of each other"
"Kate, can you just listen? Let me…"
"I'm going now and that's final. If you pull such a stunt on me again, I would report to the Alpha to file for a freaking restraining order" said Kate before opening the door and running down the stairs.
All her things were stacked in the vehicle already and she got Alejandro to release Dr Connie, who was super grateful.
"I'm sorry for putting you through this stress Connie"
"No, it's nothing. I would do it again in a heartbeat" said Dr Connie. Well Kate did not buy that, she knew that he would rather die than be in such a place that had such men that looked like they belong to a high cult group or mafia.
"I'm almost done Ms Gwen and I should be with you in like three minutes" said Karen as she hurriedly tried to pack her hair up.
Mrs Gwen worked in a hotel as one of the messengers - as one of those who get supplies for the hotel and she knew that the hotel was in need of more attendants. She told Karen and Karen had agreed to work as an attendant in the hotel.
"I'm done and ready to go!"
"Alright! Grab the box of pizza on the counter on your way out!"
"How was work yesterday? Was it stressful, compared to your first day?"
"I don't think there is anything one wants to do in life that is not stressful. It was cool, nothing I can't handle"
"That's the spirit Karen!" said Ms Gwen.
When they were about to reach the hotel, Ms Gwen parked the lorry some metres away from the hotel. They walked to the hotel and when they reached the gate, with the use of their worker's card, they were able to go in. The day was going well and normal, as Karen worked. She delivered meals to the rooms of the different persons she was assigned to with so much agility.
Ms Gwen began to have cramps on her knees when she was done with the errands she had run with the company's vehicle and all she wanted to do was to lay in bed and relax but Karen was still not done for the day.
Karen noticed how Ms Gwen was, when she went to check up on her during her break and she saw Ms Gwen wasn't feeling really good. She told Ms Gwen to go home and that she did hitch a ride with one of the workers who usually took that route.
Once Ms Gwen agreed, she quickly finished her lunch and went back to her work.
"Nayla, you are to take this to Room 302. Karen, this tray to Room 405" announced Ma Soriya.
"Please Karen, can we exchange assignments?" asked Nayla.
"Why?" asked Karen.
"I ummm, I know who is in that room and I'm kind of avoiding the person," answered Nayla.
"An ex, a hater, a pervert, a rapist, a serial killer, what is this person?" probed Karen.
"He is not not all of that but something you should avoid."
"Alright just give it to me" said Karen and they exchanged"Thanks so much Kay" said Nayla.
"Anything else I am to know?" asked Karen.
"Just drop his tray and rush out. That's all"
"If it's that easy, why aren't you doing it?" teased Karen and Nayla rolled her eyes.
"You did pay for that!" said Karen.
[Knock! Knock!]
[Knock! Knock!
"Room Service!" said Karen.
She waited for a while and when she did not hear any prompting to come in, she was about to knock again when the door suddenly opened and she immediately plastered a big smile on her face and straightened her expression.
