Jagnar's mind whirled with a torrent of questions, yet before he could voice them, the darkness began to envelop him once more. The figure upon the throne faded into obscurity, its presence lingering as a mere echo.
As he blinked back into consciousness, Jagnar found himself back in the realm he had known, the encounter with the dark figure etched indelibly into his memory. The weight of its words hung heavily upon him, fueling his determination to unlock the depths of his potential and embrace the destiny that awaited him.
Jagnar blinked several times, his vision adjusting to the surroundings as he found himself lying on a bed. Disoriented and still reeling from the encounter with the dark figure, he tried to make sense of his current situation. As his gaze focused, he saw familiar faces gathered around him—Jean Grey, Scott Summers, and Storm.
Their concerned expressions mirrored the questions swirling within Jagnar's mind. He sat up slowly, the sheets slipping from his body as he took in the room and the concerned looks on their faces.
"Jagnar, are you alright?" Jean's voice held a mix of relief and worry, her eyes searching his for any sign of distress.
Scott leaned forward, his voice filled with urgency. "What happened out there? We saw a blinding light, and then you collapsed. Are you hurt?"
Jagnar's head spun with the memories of the intense energy, the explosion, and the encounter in the dark realm. He gathered his thoughts and spoke, his voice still tinged with disbelief and wonder. "I... I'm not sure. Something happened, something beyond my understanding, there was an explosion of energy... but after that, everything went blank."
Storm stepped closer, concern etched across her features. "We tried to reach you, but you were unresponsive. It was as if you were caught in some kind of trance."
Jagnar took a deep breath, attempting to collect his scattered thoughts. "My memories are blurred, and I can't recall what happened out there."
He chose to remain silent on the matter, as it involved him and his other world. And more than that, his intuition told him that the being who talked to him wouldn't like that.
Then Scott asked, "But what were you doing there?"
'Thanks, laser man, I saved your life, and now you are interrogating me," he thought inwardly.
'I was in the woods nearby, and when I saw you, I came rushing in, and that's when I stumbled on you.'
"But you said something to Jean?" he asked. At that time, all he heard was a muffled noise.
That's when Logan came rushing in and saw Jean. "Jean!"
The room fell into a tense silence as Jagnar tried to make sense of the unfolding scene. Storm, sensing his confusion, moved to his side and whispered a gentle reminder to observe quietly.
Meanwhile, Scott positioned himself between Logan and Jean, his stance firm and protective. He spoke with a calm yet authoritative voice, addressing Logan directly. "Logan, we need to talk. Jean has been through a lot, and we're still trying to understand what happened out there."
Logan's gaze flickered from Scott to Jean, his face reflecting a mix of concern and longing. "I know she's been through some tough times, but I can't just stand by and watch. I need to make sure she's alright."
Scott nodded, acknowledging Logan's genuine concern. "We all want what's best for Jean, but we need to proceed cautiously. There's something different about her, something powerful and volatile. We need to figure out how to help her control it."
"I understand, but I can't just walk away. I've been through too much with Jean to abandon her now."
Scott was still standing there, not moving an inch.
Logan then said, "How long are you going to stand, Slim?"
Scott said, "She needs rest."
Logan turned serious and said, "Well if it isn't Mr. All knowing it all summers, Can't you see she's standing perfectly fine back there?"
"Damn it, Logan. I'm already in a body now, so don't agitate more."
"And when have you not?"
Jean cut them both in and said in a loud and firm voice, "Enough."
The chairs and the bed that Jagnar was on moved slightly.
Jean stormed out of the room right after. Scott and Logan followed her.
Storm chuckled and said, "Boys."
"Who does she love exactly?" Jagnar asked.
"I don't know."
"You should rest now, Jagnar."
Jagnar said, "Do you have a boyfriend, Storm?"
Storm turned to him and said in a serious tone, "Jagnar, why do you want to know that?"
"Nothing felt like asking."
"Okay, young man, now rest up." She left the room.
Jagnar lay on the bed, thinking about the dark figure who talked to him. He still can't forget the aura and the words resonating in his ears.
As he was thinking deeply, he slowly fell asleep.
Jagnar woke up at night only to find Jean sitting on the side of his bed, looking at him.
"How did you do that?" she asked, her voice and face indifferent.
"I dont really know what happened."
"Thank you, you are the reason that I was able to avoid it," Jean said, looking into my eyes.
Jagnar then said, "Don't worry, next time I will be ready for you."
