Chapter 485: Chapter 485: John Wick's Premiere

The Lincoln Center for the Arts in New York was bustling with excitement, with movie enthusiasts crowding both sides of the vibrant red carpet. Many donned red cultural shirts, while a few mimicked Jonathan from the trailer in sharp black suits. But what unified them all was the striking Joker face paint adorning many of their faces.

To maintain order amidst recent clown impersonations leading to crimes, the NYPD dispatched several officers to the event. Amidst the buzz, the crew members like Mene, Tiger Chen, Marcus, and Alexandra Daddario strolled down the red carpet, one after another. Taylor Swift, the voice behind the theme song, made a stunning appearance that captivated everyone's attention.

Director Chad, accompanied by his pet dog Daisy, made his way onto the carpet. Yet, it was the protagonist of the movie, embroiled in a notorious murder within the storyline, who seized the spotlight as the crowd's focus.

Martin, the male lead, stepped out for his final appearance, drawing all eyes upon himself. Dressed impeccably in a sleek black Brioni couture suit, adorned with a shiny Cartier gold watch, and carrying the latest Nokia N95 mobile phone, he sported a red cultural shirt. Grabbing a Coca-Cola, he raised a glass in solidarity with the fans, sparking a thunderous cheer.

As the Coke vanished, a chant erupted: "Coke God of War! Coke God of War!"

Lamelas, one of the sponsors, beamed with delight. Martin's presence on the red carpet proved to be an extraordinary promotion for Coca-Cola, with sales of commemorative Cokes soaring daily.

Amidst the media frenzy, Martin whistled and called out to Chad while Daisy, his dog, bounded toward him, swirling around in joy. He offered Daisy a dog biscuit, and the reporters eagerly captured the heartwarming exchange between man and dog.

Approaching for an interview, the host inquired about Daisy. Martin fondly shared, "Chad adopted Daisy back in Atlanta during his time on 'Wanted.' I used to be around her a lot on set when she was a pup. She's a playful one."

Then came the prepared question: "Many wonder why you don't own a dog despite Daisy's popularity?"

With earnestness, Martin explained, "I've always wanted to raise a child, but work keeps me occupied. Choosing scripts, preparing for roles, locking myself in for character immersion, and traveling for shoots, it's hard to give the time a dog deserves. They're family, and I can't provide that care right now."

The brief interview concluded, and Martin joined the creative team for a group photo. Alexandra's playful wink prompted Mene to shift away from Martin. Alexandra then linked her arm with Martin's, catching him by surprise with her soft and weighty presence.

On his other side, Taylor Swift cast a glance at herself, a hint of despair flickering in her eyes: "There's no comparison, there's really no comparison!"

In the midst of countless cameras, Taylor leaned in close to Martin, covering his mouth, and whispered, "I've finished your song. After the premiere, want to hear it? I'm at the Hilton Hotel."

Eager to hear the song Taylor composed for him, Martin reciprocated, "Wait for me tonight. I'll come to your room."

Taylor beamed, "This song's set to be my chart-topper from the upcoming album. I said it's dedicated to you. What do you think?"

Their conversation halted as the photos concluded. Martin whispered back, "As a friend, I'd love your songwriting for me. I'll write one for you."

Taylor grinned, envisioning this song as a potential Billboard No. 1 single.

Together, the group entered the theater. Alexandra, dressed in an eye-catching waist-strap evening dress, stood out like Everest. She sidelong glanced at Martin, her eyes as winsome as a young husky's. How could anyone refuse?

Martin, compassionate and not wanting to hurt feelings, especially of a beautiful lady, replied, "Tomorrow night? Let's savor Central Park's night view and wine."

Alexandra smiled, "Call me tomorrow; my place is nearby."

Not far off, Mene and Bruce walked together. Mene observed Taylor's height in front and Alexandra's towering presence behind, musing, "Boss will have to work hard these days."

Bruce nodded, "He even dreams of vacationing in New York. Naive!"

"Let's grab a drink tonight?" Mene suggested.

Bruce declined, "I've got plans with a friend."

"Girlfriend?" Mene asked, feeling desolate when Bruce nodded. "You embarrassed to leave me solo?"

Before Bruce could respond, a text pinged on his phone.

Quickly checking his phone, Mene received a message from Celine Dion, pausing to call her back.

Celine invited, "I saw you on TV. We're both in New York. Come to the Waldorf Astoria Hotel after the premiere?"

With a smile, Mene promised, "Tonight, no matter how late, I'll be there."

Switching to vibrate, Mene announced to Bruce, "I've got plans with Celine tonight."

Bruce exclaimed, "No loyalty!"

Humming a tune, Mene strutted into the theater hall, heading straight to the front row.

As he strolled, he noted the packed Metropolitan Theater, filled with over 4,000 spectators donning black suits or red cultural shirts.

Following Martin was the right path, even when Martin didn't say much, Mene understood.

For instance, when director Nolan's project initially offered Mane a supporting role, Martin's chat with Nolan led to an upgrade to the second male lead.

A role second only to Martin.

Despite political correctness, Mene recognized Martin's significance, something he no longer verbalized.

Fame taught Mene to keep certain secrets, burying the 'nuclear weapons' talk from his past.

The crew and creative staff gathered at the front, waving to thunderous applause from the Met audience.

"Martin, we love you!"

"Coke God of War forever!"

Endless cheers echoed through the theater.

Ted and his friends perched high, enjoying a vantage point to spot Martin amidst the tumultuous fans, their shouts echoing fervently.

Observing the chaos, Makara, a newcomer to premiere frenzy, remarked, "The movie hasn't even started."

Not a Martin enthusiast, Makara's intrigue stemmed from the Santa Monica Pier incident. She'd tagged along with friends, drawn by the dog-related storyline.

Ted raised his voice, "Haven't you seen the test screening reviews? They aren't that great!" He proclaimed, "Martin's the film's ace!" Others around him joined in, amplifying the chant.

"Coke God of War! Coke God of War..."

Even though not a Martin fan, Makara found herself caught up in the fervor, shouting along with the crowd.

In the front row, Taylor absorbed the thunderous clamor, feeling that it all justified the anticipation. Martin's star power promised discourse, likely boosting attention to her upcoming single!

Observing the chaos, Chad, in his directorial debut, teetered on the edge of tears. Amidst countless Hollywood dreamers, only a select few get the chance to direct a film, and even fewer see it reach theaters.

As the clamor settled, the crew took their seats, the screen ignited, and the theater plunged into darkness.

"John Wick" premiered.

It was a film more about fights and killings than intricate plotlines. Every twist and turn led the protagonist, Jonathan, on a violent path.

The slain dog and stolen car compelled retired killer Jonathan back into the fray, igniting a relentless vendetta.

Martin's action sequences dominated, with extended shots showcasing intense gun battles, thrilling chases, and visceral hand-to-hand combat.

Director Chad employed lengthy action takes, each punch or gunshot fueling the audience's fervor.

Martin's portrayal of a lethal yet stylish thug captivated audiences. Despite the sparse script, his nuanced performance granted insight into the character's humanity and emotional depth.

Ted, Makara, and other moviegoers were captivated by Martin's immersive portrayal, feeling drawn into the perilous world of John Wick.

It was as if Martin became Jonathan, relentless until avenging Daisy's death and confronting the Russian gangster father.
