85% Jessie’s Pokémon Journey (AU) / Chapter 68: The Truth is Revealed

Chapter 68: The Truth is Revealed

The episode starts with Leaf trying to get out of the she's tied up to, but doesn't get out. "Stupid rope!"

"It's impossible. Trust me, I tried a million times to get out. She must've used the strongest rope in existence." Cassidy says.

Soon Leaf gives up trying to escape, groaning. "Just great…" She looks at Team Rocket who is also tied up in chairs with her. "So how long have you three been kidnapped?"

"About three days," Butch answered.

"And sleeping upright on a chair for three days isn't comfortable at all, trust me," Mondo added.

"Three days?!" Leaf's eyes widened in disbelief. "No wonder I haven't seen you guys trying to steal Jessie's Meowth in a while. I thought you guys finally gave up."

Cassidy laughs. "Gave up?! Trust me, Team Rocket will never give up stealing the twerpette's Meowth!"

Leaf rolls her eyes in response to Cassidy's statement. "Just great…" She sarcastically says.

The door opens and Samantha arrives with her Persian beside her. "Now all of you shut up as I make this call."

Leaf growls and doesn't listen to Samantha. "Samantha! Where's my Eevee and the rest of my Pokémon?!"

Samantha pulls out a gun, aiming it directly at Leaf. "I said shut up or I will shoot you and not just you." She aims her gun directly at the three Team Rocket members. "You three as well. So I would get her to shut up if I was in your shoes."

"Shh!" The Team Rocket trio all shush Leaf at the same time, who remains quiet now but glaring at Samantha.

"Good." Samantha clicks the wrists-wearing object on her wrist and a few seconds later, her boss is projected on the object.

"Samantha, how's your plan coming along?" Her boss asked.

"It's going fantastic, sir. I have one of the trainers who defeated Giovanni right here." Samantha turns her wrist so that her boss can see Leaf and turns it back towards you.

"Very good, Samantha." The boss praises. "You have done M.A.R.S. proud as of right now, but you need to get the other trainer."

"Don't worry sir, I'm facing that specific trainer in my next matchup. I have a plan to take care of these two for good and have huge consequences for me if I fail you and M.A.R.S." Samantha replied, causing Leaf to get worried.

"Okay, I trust you. Remember, Samantha, failure is not an option!" The boss says before ending the call.

The title screen shows.

"The Truth is Revealed"

"So you were working for a different criminal organization called 'M.A.R.S.' all this time?!" Leaf says in shock.

"I don't have to confirm shit with you, but my mission was to hunt the very two trainers that have defeated Giovanni and that's you and Jessie," Samantha says.

Leaf tries to lie her way out. "You must've had some crazy flakes for breakfast. It wasn't me and Jessie."

"There's no need for lying to me, silly girl. The three people tied next to you already told me the whole thing." Samantha chuckles.

Leaf looks at Team Rocket and glares. "Thanks a lot, you idiots!"

"Hey! She was going to hurt my precious Raticate if I didn't tell!" Cassidy defended herself.

"And not feed and give us water too," Butch added.

"Yeah! So we had to spoil the beans, twerp!" Mondo also added.

Samantha pulls out a bomb from her pocket and starts wiring it, causing both Leaf and Team Rocket to widen their eyes. "I-is that a bomb?!" Leaf yells out.

"Aw come on! You said you weren't going to kill us! What bullshit is this?!" Butch asked in disbelief.

"Shush! Unfortunately for you three, you both already served my purposes, so I don't even care anymore. Besides, this is a special bomb, it will not tick and it works a little differently than a regular bomb. So you four don't have to worry… yet." Samantha finishes wiring the bomb. The bomb displays the number six, but it doesn't count down, it just freezes at six. Samantha places the bomb right in the middle of the tied-up victims.

"That bomb is just… freezing at the number six?" Cassidy stated.

Butch laughs. "Ha! Your bomb isn't working!"

"Oh trust me, it will work. You four just have to wait and see!" Samantha laughs. "Now I have to visit the Indigo Stadium." She grabs some equipment and starts to leave.

"Wait! Where's my Pokémon at?!" Leaf shouted out.

Samantha groans, stopping dead in her tracks, and turning around. "Your Pokémon is trapped in the cage along with Team Rocket's Pokémon! Now be quiet!" She turns back around and leaves her apartment.

Leaf and Team Rocket both stare at the bomb displaying the number six on the timer. "So… it just displays six?" Cassidy asked.

"What kind of bomb does that?" Mondo also asked.

"I don't know but… I think only one person can save us and that's Jessie." Leaf says.

Cassidy groans at hearing Jessie's name. "Our lives are at stake from the twerpette? I never thought I'd been in this situation."

"If the twerpette does save us, it doesn't mean we're just going to give up stealing her Meowth!" Butch declared.

"You said it guys!… But we will owe her though." Mondo says.

Both Cassidy and Butch growl at Mondo. "Shut it, Mondo!"

Mondo laughs. "You both aren't denying it!"

Leaf has an annoyed look on her face. "No wonder Samantha kidnapped you three. You all are equally annoying."

The scene cuts to where the gang is in the Indigo Plateau. Jessie is training Meowth and Electabuzz, Domino is taking care of Azurill, and James is watching Jessie train. "Electabuzz, use Thunder and Meowth, Thunderbolt with all your power!"

Electabuzz and Meowth both develop electricity around their bodies, sending it directly towards each other, and when moves both collide, Meowth's Thunderbolt holds up towards Electabuzz's more powerful Thunder move, but only a little while as Electabuzz's Thunder overpowers Meowth's Thunderbolt, heading directly towards the talking Pokémon.

"AH!" Meowth quickly side-jumps all the way to avoid getting electrocuted.

"You almost got it Meowth! Which means we just need to train more." Jessie says.

"What's the point of trying to train my Thunderbolt to be as powerful as Thunder? Can't you just teach me the move Thunder?" Meowth asked.

"I would, but this way we could trick our opponents into thinking Thunderbolt isn't as powerful, and then boom, you land a powerful Thunderbolt, knocking out your foe on the battlefield, and surprising your opponent and the crowd! I could just see it now." Jessie explained.

"I have to say, it's a pretty smart strategy," James admits.

Azurill nods and cries out cheerfully. "Azurill! Azurill!"

Domino smiles and pets Azurill. "You think it's a good idea too, Azurill?"

Jessie was about to go back to training when the P.A. announcements came on. "Paging trainer Jessie, can you please come to the Pokémon Center? You have a direct call from someone! Thank you!"

"Someone is trying to call me?" Jessie questioned.

"Maybe someone just wants to congratulate you on making it to the top four?" Domino assumed.

"Well, you should head down to the Pokémon Center and don't miss your call," James says.

Jessie nods before looking at Electabuzz. "Electabuzz, return!" She recalls Electabuzz back in its Poké Ball.

Meowth sighs in relief. "Finally, I can take a break! If you need me, I'll be sleeping in James' backpack."

"No, you're not! My backpack isn't a place to-" James cuts off his sentence after realizing Meowth is already sleeping in his backpack. "Hey! Get out of there!"

Jessie laughs. "Ha! Okay, I'll be heading to the Pokémon Center now." She turns around and starts heading to the Pokémon Center.

It cuts to Jessie entering the Pokémon Center as Nurse Joy bows to her for a welcome. "Welcome, Jessie. Your call is the one phone that's on the base."

Jessie looks over and sees one of the phones isn't hung up but on the base. "Thank you." She walks over to where the phones are and picks up the phone that was on the base. "Hello?"

On the mini screen of the phone, Professor Oak is projected. "Hello, Jessie! Thank goodness you picked up!"

"Hey, Professor! Wait, why are you glad I picked up?" Jessie questioned.

"Well you see, I've been trying to get a hold of my granddaughter Leaf to congratulate her for making it this far and tell her I'm proud of her, but she's not been picking up my calls recently. Which is odd." Professor Oak explained.

"Are you serious? Was she very upset from losing the league tournament to Samantha?" Jessie assumed.

"I guess so. I mean losing a league tournament could be very effective on a trainer. So close to winning, going to face the Elite Four and potentially the Champion. I would too, but I'd never thought the loss could affect her this bad." Professor Oak sighs. "I hope she's alright."

"But that doesn't make any sense, Professor. Leaf looked so happy after saying her goodbyes before leaving for Johto, she sounded so happy to go there." Jessie starts struggling to figure out what's going on.

Professor Oak frowns. "You do have a point, Jessie, but that's the only most likely conclusion I can make of why Leaf isn't responding to my calls."

"I guess so… I'll try calling her later, Professor," Jessie says.

Professor Oak perks up. "Thank you so much, Jessie! The one person that Leaf should answer every time is from you!"

Jessie chuckles embarrassingly, rubbing the back of her head. "Right, yeah, hehe…"

Jessie hears the sound of her mother in the background of the call. "Samuel Oak, can I talk to my Jessie now?"

"Right! Right! Oh, and your mother wants to talk to you." Professor Oak hands the phone to Miyamoto.

Miyamoto immediately starts talking to her daughter. "Hey, sweetie! I just want to say that I'm so proud of you for making it this far in the league tournament!"

Jessie bows. "Thank you, mom. To be honest with you, I thought I would never make this far ever."

Miyamoto puts a smile on her face. "Well, I had faith in you from the start, honey bunny!"

Jessie immediately blushes in embarrassment, from the embarrassing nickname. She looks behind her to see some of the crowd giggling at her before turning back to face her mother. "Mom! What did we say about embarrassing names in public?" She says quietly from embarrassment.

Miyamoto realizes and closes her mouth. "Oops! Sorry, sweetie. Your mom sometimes forgets about that rule."

Jessie still has her eyes closed, blushing and gritting her teeth from embarrassment. "Whatever, just remember next time." She opens her eyes and the blush slowly fades away. "Is that all you want to say to me?"

Miyamoto holds up her index finger. "Oh, there's one more thing! What kind of mother would I be if I didn't go and watch my proud daughter's top-four match in the crowd? That's why I'm going to be there cheering you on and Professor Oak will be there too!"

Professor Oak pops on the screen for a bit with a thumbs up. "You betcha!" Before exiting from view.

"Aww! Mom, I-I-I… I'm so grateful that you are." Jessie sheds a tear. "I'll try my best to win for you and for the other people, I know too! I love you, mom!"

"I love you too, sweetie! I hope you see me and Professor Oak in the crowd during your match! Okay, bye, sweetie!" Miyamoto waves her daughter goodbye before ending the call.

After the call ends, Jessie just looks at the phone for a few seconds before she starts dialing Leaf's number. She holds the phone to her ear, expecting her rival to pick up, but gets a recording message. "Dammit!" She immediately hangs up in frustration and looks at the ceiling above her. "Leaf, why are you so upset? What's going on?"

It cuts to Jessie leaving the Pokémon Center and walking on the streets, heading back to where the gang is until a familiar feminine voice makes her stop dead in her tracks. "If it isn't my next opponent!" It was Samantha.

Jessie growls, crossing her arms. "You know Samantha, I thought we were friends until I was told to not trust you and based on what your Persian did to my friend's Eevee, they were right all this time! So we're going into our battle together as enemies, not friends!"

Samantha laughs. "Do you think I care about stupid friendships? I don't need it. All I need to beat you is my Pokémon and I'm going to do that just like I did with Leaf!"

"I-I can't believe you turned out to be a major jerk all this time and I felt bad about your Persian story that you told me when we met. Since you're so blinded by victory, I guess I will shut you up because it's going to be me coming on top!" Jessie stated.

Samantha laughs once more at the statement from Jessie. "Jessie. Jessie. Jessie. You're the one who's so blind from the truth. I'm not doing this because I want to win, I didn't join this stupid league tournament because I'm so 'blinded by victory.'"

"Then why did you join this competition?" Jessie asked.

"All would be revealed in our battle together, but I would say this. Try not to lose, Jessie, that's all I have to say." Samantha walks away out of view.

Jessie looks on at Samantha and growls. "Is she trying to scare me into throwing me off my game? Well, Samantha's got another thing coming because her threats don't scare me! I will beat her if that's the last thing I'll do!"

It cuts to the location where James and Domino are with Meowth still sleeping in James' backpack. "Come on Meowth, I said get out of there, my backpack isn't a bed!"

Meowth continues sleeping and snoring, not hearing James' voice and sleep talking. "I would like some catnip please, Jessie!"

Domino laughs at the amusement. "You know there's most likely only one person who can wake Meowth up."

"Who?" James questioned.

The voice of Jessie is heard. "Alright Meowth break time is over, we got to continue our training!"

Meowth immediately wakes up and jumps back on the ground from James' backpack. "Alright, boss!"

James answers his question earlier. "That's who…"

"Wow Jessie, you sound like you're determined to win your next battle," Domino says.

Azurill cries cheerfully at Jessie's dedication. "Azurill!"

Jessie clutches her fist. "Leaf told me to avenge her loss against Samantha, avenge what her Persian did to Eevee and I'm going to do just that!"

Meowth realizes something after Jessie mentions Persian. "You know what, I got some payback of my own against that stupid Persian after beating me last time. Just say the word, Jess, and I'll train till I'm exhausted!"

Jessie nods and smiles. "I'm glad you're taking this seriously, Meowth."

"Meowth does get exhausted easily, so it isn't saying much," Domino says, chuckling and rubbing the backside of her head.

Meowth growls at Domino. "I'm serious this time, Domino! So please be quiet!"

"Okay! Okay! Geez!" Domino crosses her arms and looks away.

Jessie pulls out all of her Pokémon's Poké Balls. "Alright everyone, come on out!"

As Jessie throws them up in the air, all of Jessie's Pokémon materialize and shout out their battle cry. "ELEBUBUBU!" "Blastoise!" "Neigh!" "Scizor!" "Gengar!"

Domino looks over to James. "Wow, Jessie is serious, sending out all of her Pokémon. I guess she's determined to win this specific battle."

"I would too. Honestly, I would treat all of my league battles very important if I were in Jessie's shoes." James replied.

"You're right on that." Domino also replied.

Azurill shouts its cry cheerfully. "Azurill!"

Jessie gathers all of her Pokémon and begins saying a speech. "Alright everyone, we have an important battle coming up soon. We have been in a lot of other important battles before but I don't think any Pokémon battle we had in the past is more important than this specific one. I'm going to train all of you before the battle and let's give it all we got!"

All of Jessie's Pokémon shout out their battle cry with determination, except for Meowth, who just shouts out a word. The scene cuts to the Indigo Stadium where Jessie's battle against Samantha is about to begin. "Wow, look at this crowd! It's huge!" Domino says.

"Yet, there are two empty seats right next to us. I wonder who those seats belong to?" James asked.

"I hope we're not late!" Professor Oak's voice is heard and he arrives with Jessie's mother, Miyamoto, where Domino and James are in the crowd.

"I haven't seen my sweet Jessie on the battlefield yet, so I think we made it!" Miyamoto said cheerfully.

"Professor Oak and Jessie's mother! Are these two seats yours?" Domino asked.

"Yep! We reserved them yesterday, what a coincidence we ended up sitting next to you guys!" Professor Oak chuckles, rubbing the back of his head before taking his seat.

Miyamoto also takes her seat too. "I just can't wait to see my Jessie in action. This is my first time watching one of my daughter's league battles!"

The announcer arrives in the middle of the battlefield and begins announcing the two competitors. "Ladies and gentlemen, before we announce our competitors, as always, please welcome our Elite Four and Champion!"

It shows where every Elite Four member: Will, Lorelei, Bruno, and Agatha, is in the crowd, then the champion, Lance, watches down from the skybox. The crowd explodes in cheers for every member and the champion.

The announcer now starts announcing the competitors. "Now to our competitors! Up first, from Pallet Town, please welcome Jessie!"

Jessie arrives from the locker room, waving at the cheering crowd with smiles alongside Meowth. "Ready to do this, Meowth?"

Meowth nods. "You better believe it!"

The announcer starts announcing the next competitor. "Now for Jessie's opponent! From Viridian City, please welcome Samantha!"

Samantha arrives from her side of the locker room, and right from the gate, she immediately grabs the microphone from the announcer and starts talking. "Everyone, I got a little announcement I want to make that might shock you."

Jessie looks at her Meowth in confusion. "What is this?"

Meowth shrugs. "I don't know. Maybe she's apologizing for the last battle against Leaf?"

"Everyone, please pay attention to the giant screen!" Samantha pulls out a remote and hits a button.

As the giant TV screen above the crowd turns on, everyone's gasped in shock at what they are seeing. The four of Samantha's kidnapped victims, the Team Rocket trio and Leaf, all tied up in a chair.

"Hey guys, look, everyone is watching us!" Leaf pointed out. "Someone, please save us! We're kidnapped, help!"

"LEAF?!" Professor Oak yelled out in shock. "I got to go help her!" He was about to get up, until he heard the yell of Samantha.

"DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT, OLD MAN, OR SHE'S DEAD!" Samantha immediately yelled out, causing Professor Oak to slowly sit down. "You see here, everyone in this stadium is trapped! If I see one person trying to be a hero and save them, I will automatically blow them to bits with that bomb with the button on this remote! If I sense anything suspicious happening, boom! If I see police officers heading in my direction, boom! How could you save them? Well, there's only one person who can save them!" Samantha looks at Jessie and points at her. "And that's you, Jessie!"

Jessie was in disbelief at what she was experiencing. "So that's what happened to Leaf… you… k-kidnapped her?! You monster!"

"Thank you for the compliment!" Samantha laughs. "You see that bomb that displays the number six? That number represents the amount of Pokémon that is in your party during this battle. Every time one of your Pokémon faints in battle, that number on the bomb drops, and when it reaches zero." Samantha makes an explosion noise. "It's bye-bye to your little friend Leaf and the others."

"Twerpette!" A familiar nickname and feminine voice were heard on the screen for Jessie as she looked at the screen, seeing Cassidy looking directly at her. "I never thought I'd be in a situation where you have my life in your hands, but please don't disappoint us and lose after every single time you beat us!"

"Yeah! You better save all of us here, twerpette!" Butch added.

"We're rooting for you, twerpette! I know you can do it, we believe in you!" Mondo also added.

"That's enough of them!" Samantha turns off the giant TV screen with her remote.

It quickly cuts outside the stadium where Lawson is, he is looking at the giant TV screen with a serious expression on his face, before leaving as it cuts back to inside the stadium.

Jessie was slowly clutching her fist in anger while looking at Samantha. "If I'm the only person who can save Leaf and Team Rocket, then that's what I'm going to do! I will beat you Samantha and save them!"

Samantha chuckles. "How touching!" She throws Jessie a first aid kit, before pulling out her own. "You might need this."

Jessie catches the first aid kit and looks at Samantha in confusion. "Why do I need a first aid kit?"

"Oh, you will see." Samantha chuckles evilly before pulling out a Poké Ball. "Now are you ready to battle or not?"

Jessie grits her teeth before pulling out a Poké Ball of her own and she starts thinking in her thoughts. "Okay Jessie, I have to win this battle, people's lives are on the line!"

Samantha looks over at the referee, not wanting to call the match at all. "Hey, stupid ref, call the match, now!"

The referee quickly holds up the green and red flag, sweating in fear a lot. "The battle between Jessie and Samantha may now begin!"

Jessie sends her first Pokémon out first on the battlefield. "Gengar, I choose you!"

Gengar materializes on the battlefield. "Gengar!"

Then Samantha sends her first Pokémon out. "Golbat, I choose you!"

Golbat materializes and screeches to Gengar.

Samantha commands the first move of the battle. "Golbat, use Wing Attack!"

Golbat starts flying towards Gengar while its wings start glowing white.

"I don't think so! Gengar, use Hypnosis!" Jessie countered.

"Close your eyes, Golbat!" Samantha counters back.

Gengar's eyes glow red while staring directly at Golbat, but the bat Pokémon closes its eyes while flying and strikes Gengar with its wings while having its eyes closed to avoid being hypnotized to sleep.

"Gengar!" Gengar cries in pain from getting hit by Golbat's Wing Attack, floating down to the ground.

"Gengar, are you alright?!" Jessie exclaimed from being worried.

Gengar floats back up, still able to battle. "Gengar!"

"Golbat, now use Haze!" Samantha commanded.

Golbat screeches and releases a thick, black smoke from its mouth, surrounding the entire battlefield with smoke.

Gengar starts looking around, trying to find Golbat, and scratches its head. "Gengar?"

"Use Shadow Ball, Gengar! That move should follow Golbat no matter what!" Jessie commanded.

"Gengar!" Gengar's hands spark with blue electricity. It then puts its hands together, forms a black ball of energy, and shoots it. The black ball of energy starts heading towards the direction where Golbat is in the smoke.

"Golbat, fly away from that Shadow Ball!" Samantha countered.

Golbat sees Gengar's Shadow Ball heading towards it, screeching in fear, and starts flying away as the Shadow Ball starts following the bat Pokémon around the battlefield.

Jessie smirks. "Samantha, it's impossible for you to avoid Shadow Ball! It'll keep following your precious Golbat till the end of time!"

Samantha growls before getting an idea. "Golbat, fly towards Gengar!"

Golbat screeches and flies directly towards Gengar.

"Gengar, use Night Shade!" Jessie commanded.

"Use Confuse Ray, quickly!" Samantha countered.

Golbat's eyes glow blue and Gengar becomes confused before it can use Night Shade, Golbat proceeds to fly past Gengar, which causes the Shadow Ball to hit the shadow Pokémon, and Gengar officially faints from the battle.

The referee hesitates before holding up the red flag. "Gengar is unable to battle, which means the winner of this round is the red corner!"

It cuts to the room where Samantha's kidnapped victims are and the bomb right next to them goes down to the number five after one of Jessie's Pokémon faints. "We're going to die, are we?" Cassidy rhetorically says.

"It's just one Pokémon, I know Jessie, she's going to fight till the end," Leaf says.

It cuts back to the battle as the Haze clears. Jessie recalls Gengar back into its Poké Ball. "Gengar, return!" But before Jessie could pull out a different Poké Ball, the sound of a gunshot was heard. "OW!" Jessie immediately falls to the ground from the crowd's shock.

Meowth immediately checks up on his trainer. "Jessie, are you okay?!"

"Yeah, I'm alright." Jessie looks at her left leg and it's bleeding. "I think I've been shot in the leg!"

"WHAT?!" Meowth yells out in shock.

Samantha laughs. "Congratulations, you just figured out the use of those first aid kits!"

Meowth hisses directly at Samantha. "What did you do?!"

Samantha starts explaining. "I rigged this battlefield to where if one of the trainers loses their Pokémon, they get shot directly at one of their specific body parts. Lose two Pokémon, and both of your legs get shot! Lose four and then both of your arms get shot! Lose five and then your stomach gets shot! And finally, losing six Pokémon and losing the battle in general will result in getting shot directly in the head and it's game over! It's like reverse Hangman!"

In the crowd, Miyamoto starts worrying about her daughter. "I-I have to save my daughter! I can't watch this!" Miyamoto was about to get up from her seat before being interrupted by Domino, James, and Professor Oak altogether.

"Miyamoto, you can't interfere in the battle! If you do, then Leaf is gone!" Domino explained.

"Yeah! Think about the lives you're endangering if you try that!" James added.

"Do you all expect me to just sit here and just watch my daughter after being shot?!" Miyamoto yelled out in disbelief.

Professor Oak sadly nods. "I'm afraid there's no other choice we can do… Jessie's the only person who can save Leaf now."

Back to the battle with Samantha's explanation. "That's where our first aid kits come in. We can bandage our bullet wounds up to stop the bleeding so that we don't die from blood loss."

Jessie immediately opens her first aid kit and bandages up the bullet wound on her leg before standing back up. "'We?' You rigged it to shoot you too when you lose a Pokémon?"

Samantha shrugs. "Hey, I might be a criminal, but I'm fair. This isn't going to be some original boring Pokémon battle, this is a Pokémon battle where the stakes are higher than the clouds! No matter what the outcome is, someone's life is ending no matter what!"

"Wait, even if you win, you're still going to end up behind bars! So what's the point, Samantha?" Jessie pointed out.

Samantha explains more. "It doesn't matter Jessie. If I win, I will finally get rid of the two trainers that beat the powerful leader of Giovanni, you and Leaf! That was my mission from the start from my boss and I would have done my part. If I fail then I don't deserve to breathe in another piece of oxygen anymore, knowing that I failed my boss, my leader, which isn't going to happen!"

Jessie grits her teeth. "Who are you working for?!"

Samantha scoffs. "Like I would tell you! I might be a blonde, but I'm not stupid! Now send out your next Pokémon and let's continue this battle already!"

Jessie pulls out a Safari Ball. "Scizor, I choose you!" She sends out Scizor to battle against Golbat.

Scizor materializes. "Scizor!"

Jessie commands the first move of this round. "Use Swords Dance!"

Yellow swords appear next to Scizor, spinning around the pincer Pokémon as Scizor crosses its claws against its chest. Scizor's attack boosts.

"Golbat, Wing Attack!" Samantha commanded.

Golbat screeches toward Scizor, flying towards the pincher Pokémon as its wings glow white.

"Use Double Team, Scizor!" Jessie countered.

"Scizor!" Scizor creates illusions of itself around the air. Golbat stops dead in its tracks, looking around the illusions, and screeches in confusion. Golbat dashes at one of the Scizor, attacking it, but it appears it is just an illusion.

Jessie immediately calls out her next move. "Metal Claw, now!"

All the illusions disappear as one of Scizor's claws glows metallic and strikes Golbat from behind. Golbat screeches in pain, falling downwards to the ground, and faints from the battle.

The referee immediately held up the green flag as soon as they saw Golbat with swirling eyes. "Golbat is unable to battle, which means the winner of this round is the green corner!"

A gunshot is heard and the bullet strikes Samantha's left leg as she falls to the ground in pain. "AH, FUCK!"

Jessie crosses her arms. "Yeah, it hurts, right?"

Samantha opens up her first aid kit, patching her left leg up with bandages before standing back up and growling. "You'll pay for that!" She recalls Golbat. "Golbat, return!" Samantha pulls out a different Poké Ball. "Mr. Mime, I choose you!"

Mr. Mime materializes. "Mr. Mime!"

Samantha commands the first move this time. "Mr. Mime, use Psybeam!"

"Double Team!" Jessie countered.

Scizor makes illusions of itself in the air as Mr. Mime points directly at a Scizor, firing a multicolored beam from its index finger, but ends up hitting an illusion.

Jessie immediately commands her next move. "Now use Fury Cutter, Scizor!"

"Scizor!" All the Scizor illusions disappear, as the pincher Pokémon starts flying downwards toward Mr. Mime, getting ready to strike the barrier Pokémon multiple times with its claws.

"Mr. Mime, use Fire Punch!" Samantha countered.

"Mr. Mime!" One of Mr. Mime's fists began to be surrounded by red-orange flames and then proceeded to punch Scizor right in the face as the pincher Pokémon was getting closer.

"SCIZOR!" Scizor cries out in extreme pain from getting hit by a super-effective move and crashes down to the ground.

"SCIZOR, ARE YOU OKAY?!" Jessie shouted out.

Samantha looks at the referee and points at Scizor while they are on the ground and not moving a muscle. "Hey ref, do you see Scizor not moving?! You immediately called Golbat was unable to battle as soon as it hit the ground, now do the same with Scizor!"

The referee looks at Scizor, hesitating to call the round in Samantha's favor. Before they could do it though, Scizor springs back up from the ground, still able to battle. "Scizor!"

Samantha growls in response. "Stupid referee!"

Jessie clutches her fist in excitement. "Nice one, Scizor, I know you weren't going down that easily! Use Swords Dance!"

Once more, yellow swords appear next to Scizor, spinning around the pincer Pokémon as Scizor crosses its claws against its chest. Scizor's attack boosts even more than before.

"Mr. Mime, use Encore!" Samantha quickly commanded.

Mr. Mime begins clapping for Scizor. "Mr. Mime! Mr. Mime! Mr. Mime!" Causing the pincer Pokémon to blush.

Jessie grits her teeth. "Great, now I can only use Swords Dance for a couple of turns, but at least Scizor's attack power will be boosted up to the max. Scizor, Swords Dance!"

More yellow swords begin to appear next to Scizor, spinning around the pincer Pokémon as Scizor crosses its claws for the third time and its attack boosts up even more.

"Psybeam!" Samantha commanded.

Mr. Mime aims its index finger towards Scizor, shooting a multicolored beam from it, and hits Scizor.

"Scizor!" Scizor cries out in pain from taking the hit but is still flying.

"That's it Scizor, keep taking those attacks! Use Swords Dance again!" Jessie commanded for the second time in a row.

As always, yellow swords appear next to Scizor, spinning around the pincer Pokémon as Scizor crosses its claws, boosting its attack once more.

Samantha starts thinking inside her thoughts. "I can only use Psybeam since it's the only move that can reach Scizor as it's flying." She stares directly at Scizor's wings. "Until now!" Samantha shouts her next move out loud. "Mr. Mime, aim for Scizor's wings and use Psybeam!"

"Mr. Mime!" Mr. Mime shoots a multicolored beam from its index finger right toward Scizor's wings and strikes them.

"Scizor!" Scizor cries out in pain and starts falling towards the ground, hitting it.

Samantha uses the opportunity and immediately commands her next move. "Double Slap!"

Mr. Mime dashes toward Scizor and tries to hit the pincher Pokémon with its hand, but Scizor catches Mr. Mime's hand midway and starts staring directly down at Mr. Mime. "Mr. Mime…"

"Fury Cutter!" Jessie commanded.

Scizor's other claws began to glow white and Mr. Mime started sweating in fear, struggling to get out of the pincher's Pokémon grasp, but it was too late as Scizor started slashing Mr. Mime over and over with each strike getting powerful. After Scizor is done, it throws a fainted Mr. Mime to its side of the battlefield.

The referee holds up the green flag. "Mr. Mime is unable to battle! The winner of this round goes to the green corner!"

Meowth smiles and praises Jessie for her round victories. "That's it, Jess! Show that blonde cheerleader who's the boss!"

The sound of a gunshot is heard, striking Samantha in the right leg this time, making her fall to the ground again. "DAMMIT!"

"Look at Jessie! She's so determined to win this battle!" Domino says.

Azurill starts clapping for Jessie, cheering for her too. "Azurill! Azurill! Azurill!"

"She better be determined. Remember, not only Leaf's life is on the line, but hers too." James says.

Professor Oak nods. "Right. This battle is a very must-win for Jessie."

Miyamoto starts crying, seeing her daughter in this situation. "C-come on Jessie, you can do it, please win!"

After Samantha bandaged her right leg up, she stood up and recalled Mr. Mime. "Mr. Mime, return!" She looks at the Poké Ball in disgust. "Stupid worthless Pokémon!" Samantha proceeds to throw Mr. Mime's Poké Ball in the crowd, getting rid of it for sure.

Miyamoto's eyes were blurry from her tears and didn't see the Poké Ball coming and it smacked her across the face. "Ow!" She was able to catch it in her hands. "A Poké Ball?"

"Now why did you do that?!" Jessie questioned in disbelief.

"Mr. Mime was a worthless Pokémon that I don't need anymore!" Samantha pulls out a different Poké Ball. "Hitmonlee, you're next!" She sends Hitmonlee out to battle against Scizor.

Hitmonlee materializes. "Hitmonlee!"

"Scizor, are you still able to continue, despite your wings being damaged?" Jessie asked.

Scizor looks back at its trainer, nodding. "Scizor!"

Jessie nods back and commands the first move. "Alright, use Metal Claw then!"

One of Scizor's claws glows metallic and dashes towards Hitmonlee.

"Hitmonlee, use Double Kick!" Samantha countered.

One of Hitmonlee's legs begins to glow white and both Scizor's claw and Hitmonlee's leg clash, but Hitmonlee uses its other leg to kick Scizor in the gut, flinging the pincher Pokémon to its side of the battlefield.

Jessie starts getting worried from her sweating in fear. "Scizor, are you okay?!"

Scizor gets up, still able to battle despite all the hits it took. "Scizor!"

Samantha starts becoming frustrated. "How is that Scizor still able to battle?!"

"Because Scizor knows how much this battle is important to me!" Jessie answered. "Use Double Team!"

Scizor creates illusions of itself surrounding the entire battlefield and confusing Hitmonlee.

"I don't think so! Hitmonlee, use Foresight!" Samantha countered.

"Foresight?" Jessie questioned.

Hitmonlee's eyes begin to glow red and start analyzing all of the Scizor on the battlefield until they come across one of them and stare directly at it.

Samantha smirks. "Bingo! Now use Double Kick!"

"Hitmonlee!" Hitmonlee dashes towards the one Scizor it has its glowing red eyes on and kicks it not once, but twice and it turns out it was the right Scizor as the illusions disappear.

Jessie grits her teeth. "Lucky guess! Scizor, use Double Team again!"

"Scizor!" Scizor creates even more illusions around the battlefield.

Samantha shakes her head and laughs. "Hitmonlee, use Foresight and then Mega Kick!"

Hitmonlee's eyes begin to glow red again, looking through the illusions until coming across one of the Scizor, and then one of Hitmonlee's feet glows metallic light blue and he kicks the Scizor with great force.

"SCIZOR!" Scizor cries out in pain, turning out that Hitmonlee got the right Scizor again. The pincer Pokémon drops down to the ground and officially faints from the battle.

The referee holds up the red flag in the air. "Scizor is unable to battle, which means the winner of this round is the red corner!"

The scene quickly cuts to the bomb in the room where Leaf and Team Rocket are tied up, it goes down to the number four.

Back on the battlefield, the sound of a gunshot is heard once more, hitting Jessie in the right leg, and taking her down to the ground once more. "AH!"

Samantha chuckles. "You should've known that the move Foresight makes Hitmonlee able to see right through your Double Team and spot the right Scizor!"

"Should've known!" Jessie growls as she patches her right leg up with bandages. She weakly stood up after taking two shots to both of her legs.

"Jessie, are you sure you can stand?" Meowth asked.

"Yeah, I can stand, I'm fine, Meowth." She recalls her Scizor back in its Safari Ball. "Scizor, return!"

Jessie and Samantha both have an intense stare-down with each other before the narrator starts talking. "Well, this battle dial the degrees to the max! Will Jessie be able to beat Samantha, saving not just Leaf and Team Rocket but herself too, or will this be the end of Jessie, Leaf, and Team Rocket forever? Find out as the journey continues!"

It fades to black, but before the episode could end, the scene shows outside of the hotel where Lawson is standing. "I have to find those hostages before that bomb reaches zero!" Before Lawson could enter the hotel, he heard a masculine voice behind him.

"You think you can do this by yourself, Lawson?" The masculine voice said.

Lawson looked behind him and the person standing there was none other than the Indigo Champion, Lance, with a smirk across his face. Lawson chuckles in response. "It's been a long time, Lance. I never thought I would be teaming up with you in all my life."
