Chapter 1: Prologue: The Beginning Of Hell

The sound of fingers tapping relentlessly against the keyboard echoed throughout the room as Tora typed away her suggestions and replies to all the incoming queries that she had received as an agent. This suggested that she was one of the highly sought-after editors and agents in the publishing industry.

"People really need to stop sending me romance." Her fingers were busy typing polite declines but her mouth was constantly complaining at the amount of dumb queries she's been getting. "Not a single interesting one today either."

"I-apologize-for-just-getting-back-to-you. I-have-read-your-query-… Blah blah blah. Seriously! Why is there no end to these emails!?" Leaning back in her chair, Tora felt completely defeated. Her head was pounding like crazy and her lower body felt the tingly sensation of numbness as she walked to the fridge for a drink. She was currently working from home waiting for the reconstruction of her office to be finish.

After the tremendous success of her client's novel a few months ago, she's been getting twenty times as many queries as she did before. The publishing company she's currently working for, Esperaunce, has pushed her for another successful find like her previous one. Anxious to get their hands on a new gold mine, they gave her a deadline that was about to be met next week, yet she hasn't found one that stood out.

After a few gulps of warmed milk, she walked back to her computer. Browsing through the countless unopened emails, one caught her eye. It was a name she was familiar with. Tora opened the email and read the greetings the sender wrote along with the query for the novel this person was working on. The more she read, the more intrigued she became.

The story presented was about a young person being thrown into different worlds, playing as different characters, and under different stories and situations. The more she read, the more she was interested.

This was it! Thought Tora as she quickly wrote a reply.

Every second was excruciating but luckily, she didn't have to wait too long for a reply from Asier, the one on the other end. She had asked for the novel as well as a meet-up in person. Tora felt a sense of relief as she clicked on the email.

"I'm glad you liked it. Have a safe trip," it was a short reply. Before Tora could process what it meant, she was hit with extreme drowsiness and quickly fell asleep.
