Chapter 231: Chapter 231: You Are My Son

Superman's red and blue figure returned in an instant from the atmosphere, arriving below the broken Morgan building, gently holding up the broken upper half of the Morgan building with both hands, stabilizing the bio-force field to ensure the safety of the people inside.

"The earthquake stopped?"

"Are we saved?"

"Who is it?"

"It's Superman, the Kryptonian."

"How dare he show up?"

Some of the Morgan building's staff, dressed in business attire, leaned against the floor-to-ceiling windows, seeing the upper half of the Morgan building being held up by a red and blue figure, with a black cape fluttering gently.

With the crimson cape billowing behind him, Superman flew slowly with the Morgan building in tow, arriving at the widened intersection of the avenue, gently lowering the Morgan building, heaving a sigh of relief and looking at the surrounding crowd.

However, Superman's face showed confusion, his chin turned to look at the surrounding crowd, his deep black eyes revealing bewilderment.

What greeted him was no longer the applause and approval of the past, nor the desperate attempts of the crowd to touch his body, nor the grateful and admiring expressions.

Instead, it was the whispered conversations and strange glances of the crowd covering their mouths at a distance.

"Why is he still showing up?"

"Keep your voice down, he's also an alien of that race."

"It's all because of him, he brought everything to Earth."

"He might be the vanguard of the aliens."

"It's really scary."

"Did you see that?"

"It was him who broke the Morgan building just now, and it was him who pretended to be a good guy."

"Saw it, saw it. It seems that it's always been this kind of trickery, deceiving the world."

The strange looks and whispered conversations from a hundred meters away made Superman feel a sense of alienation.

He was no longer the beloved Superman of the past.

What happened?

"Why do you still come back here to pretend to be a good guy! Superman." A bold citizen shouted at Superman, attracting attention at this moment.

"This country has been destroyed by your people. What are you doing here at this time?" Someone shouted angrily at Superman, unable to tolerate him appearing here now and continuing to perform rescue actions as if nothing had happened.

"Go back to your country! You're like a robber, you've already expelled Australia and occupied their land to establish New Krypton, haven't you?" Seeing Superman's lack of response and his apparent confusion, people's words became more and more intense.

They already regarded Superman as a disaster, believing that all of this was brought about because of Superman.

Maybe Superman was just the vanguard of the Kryptonians coming to Earth.

Now they had succeeded.

They had a new country established.

Our country has been destroyed.

"What happened?" Superman's puzzled eyes continued to scan around, his brows lightly furrowed. He truly didn't know what had happened during his unconsciousness, causing such a drastic change in everyone's attitude towards him.

"Superman, open your super eyes and take a look at this devastated land where even its name cannot be mentioned." An old man, seeing Superman's confusion, suggested sorrowfully.

Superman's bewildered eyes opened their telescopic and penetrating vision, looking into the distance. He saw military bases turned into ruins, with radiation spreading continuously from the aftermath of nuclear explosions, making the outskirts unsafe.

The administrative center of this country had no one governing it anymore; the government had disappeared, and cities in various states became independent and self-governing.

Some cities in certain states started manufacturing clean nuclear radiation machines provided by Luthor to clean up the radiation, while some corporations controlled cities and began to harbor ambitions. Instead of cleaning up the radiation, they allowed it to spread, gathering all the people in the cities and letting the radiation surround them, exploiting the people.

With the capitalists high above, no one to restrict them, people were treated like animals, restoring slavery, trading and buying, establishing their own city-states, reverting to feudal times.

In the blink of an eye, Superman saw countless human remains, the plight of his compatriots, heard their painful cries, as well as various discussions and cheers for the establishment of New Krypton. Gathering these fragments of information made him understand the dire situation that had occurred during his unconsciousness.

This country was annihilated, nuclear bombs exploded in military bases, and New Krypton was officially established on Earth...

All of this had happened while he was unconscious.

Suddenly!

At this broad intersection, the cement ground suddenly cracked open, revealing brown mud and sand, something was emerging from underground.

The many people who were about to angrily rebuke Superman had their expressions change drastically, one by one starting to turn and run away.

They hadn't forgotten that Superman had just emerged like this, breaking the Morgan building in half.

"Leave this place!" Ignoring his confusion about how so much had happened in such a short time during his unconsciousness, Superman quickly shouted to the crowd.

He swiftly flew to the surface above the cracked ground.

A grey figure, just like when he was struck by H'el earlier, scattered soil as it emerged from the cracked ground.

Superman caught this grey figure in his arms, buffering the impact by retreating hundreds of meters before coming to a stop.

Looking down, he realized it was his father who had just knocked him away.

"Father, why...?" Superman's eyes showed even more confusion.

He was puzzled by his father's actions, the position of Kryptonians, the establishment of New Krypton, and why his father would knock him away. It all left Superman as confused as a blank sheet of paper.

"You are not my son!!!" Hearing Superman call him father, Jor-El, held in Superman's arms, his face twisted into madness, eyes bulging, turned heavily and threw a punch directly at the S emblem on Superman's chest.

A massive sonic boom echoed in the sky, shockwaves spreading outward, shattering the glass of surrounding buildings, and terrified screams filled the air as people hid in corners.

Superman's figure crashed into the ground like a cannonball, smashing the entire road and creating a crater tens of meters deep. Fire hydrants burst open, continuously spraying water four meters high.

"It's not what you told me! You are my father, my true name is Kal-El, the S emblem on my chest is our family crest, a symbol of hope, isn't it?" Emerging from the dust and moist ground in the pit, enduring slight pain in his chest, Superman raised his head, looked at Jor-El in the sky, with a serious expression, questioning him.

He hadn't spent much time with Jor-El, and all this lineage was what Jor-El had told him when he appeared at the Fortress of Solitude.

And now, to say he wasn't his son, directly confused Superman.

"I am not your son?"

Whose son am I?

Then why did you say I was your son in the first place?

A big hand rested on Superman's shoulder and said, "You are my son."
