Jaylene originally thought that Joseph Thompson would drive straight back to Bay City. Still upset about not lending her money, she lowered the seat and closed her eyes to sleep, ignoring the man driving.

It wasn't a short drive from Brook to City G; it took about five to six hours. Leaving at two in the afternoon and taking the highway, Joseph, the entertainment reporter, could make it to City G by seven or eight in the evening.
