By the time Joseph Thompson drove back to Star Ocean City, it was already past 5 a.m.

The sky was just beginning to lighten, and the whitish belly of the fish in the east reminded him that a new day was about to begin.

He raised his hand and softened his brow, looking at the scattered underwear on the floor. When he found a light pink little cutie amongst them, his heart inexplicably tightened. Then, he carefully picked it up and put it in his drawer with his other men's shorts.
