With a curious smirk I watched from the back seat as the rookies got their introductions to the cars or I guess I should call them Shops as named by their TO's and all of them were treating it differently.

Nolan's playfulness in contrast to his years was throwing Bishop off-guard. Chole seemed prepared, making Lopez's job easier while Bradford was getting strict with Chen, who was understandably nervous.

Nolan was finally done with his procedures and got into the car, Bishop following him after. Both of them glanced at me before the senior continued her course about the vehicle.

"Log in to the computer, put our serial numbers, test lights, sirens and finally check yourself." She commanded the last bit sternly. "You're about to hit the street with a loaded handgun and no idea what happens next."

Just as she finished her words, the dispatch bursted through with a call.

"7-Adam-19, family dispute, 1401 west sycamore, address has history of domestic calls." Bishop picked up the radio and called it in.

"7-Adam-19, Roger." And just as she kept the radio back, her eyes darted my way with a tired sigh seeping into them.

"So Robert, what's the deal here?" She asked, clasping her hands together and her brows raised.

"It's actually quite simple." I explained in detail. "The footage from your body cams and dashboards will be used to portray the circumstances of the cases in the show, your face will be obviously blurred as that's your private stuff but your batch number and names if ever came up will still be there."

She gave me a look that hinted that she was slightly impressed by the arrangement.

"The editor will give you the portions of the scenes if you are in the episode and you have the power to make him drop it or cut off certain parts, you would have a 3 day time period for that but if you miss to give a reply, he will go through it."

Nolan seemed to be intrigued about what I explained while Bishop slightly nodded and stepped on the gas, already wasting too much time neglecting their call.

"I just want to say it's very interesting to be filmed for a show." Nolan chuckled like a nervous little kid having show jitters. "Feels like I'm a character but how do you feel Robert? Considering you are literally the protagonist?"

I smiled at his enthusiasm.

"I don't really feel all that different, I mean I use my powers like they are a part of me and now, I'm just going to be in front of a camera explaining how I did that and I have long since shed my shyness to be in front of a camera." I answered. "By the way, please call me Tek, I prefer that."

"Sure, Rob-, I mean Tek." His eyes moved back to the road before darting back to me. "What are your powers again?"

"You'll see."

John was a fun guy to be around, he was a bit of an over-sharer, talked about his whole life through the drive and Bishop was constantly giving him a stinking side eye.

But he was polite and tried to make small talk with Bishop once he found I didn't answer any personal questions, but Bishop wasn't too interested in answering him either and that didn't seem to stop him, he didn't stop until the car came into the neighborhood.

"-And Henry was an absolute menace in highschool, you would love to-." His words were stopped as Bishop sharply halted.

"We are here, boot."

"Yes, how do you want to do this?" Nolan asked with a hip in his step as he walked out of the shop. I followed behind them casually.

"Show me what you got?" Bishop replied challengingly.

John quietly walked up to the calm house, maskaeding his nervousness with a confident face, he knocked on the door.

"Police, open up." He instructed.

I watched them take a stance waiting patiently.

I heard two footsteps inside but three heartbeats, one fainter than the others, possibly an infant while another heart was beating faster than the other.

Panic? Anger? Fear? Could be anything, all three perhaps.

I wasn't picking any pheromones in the air other than the cops.

The door creaked open and all the new scents hit me like a bus.

A big bald guy stepped forward, hidden behind him was a innocent faced short ginger woman with a kid in her hand, a year or two old, babbling and cooing at baby language.

"Sir…we've got a call about a disturbance." Nolan stepped back, clearly intimidated by the huge figure in front. "You alright, ma'am?"

"She's fine." The guy answered for her. "So you should leave."

I noticed their scents and expressions excluding their facades. She was angry, grinding her teeth and he was nervous, sweating profoundly.

My eyes glanced over the chest plate sticking out of his shirt, the scratches over his arms and pinkish patches over her palm.

Hmm. That's interesting.

"Trying to make weight?" Nolan asked picking on the plastic plate.

"What?" The man asked, not understanding.

"I used to wrestle a bit in college." He proudly mentioned. "I see plastic sticking out of your shirt, nothing my girlfriend hated more than when I was trying to make fighting weight."

The man looked doubtful wondering where Nolan was going with it but I understood it.

He was trying to separate him from the woman while giving his TO more time to take a look inside the house to see if something sticks out.

"Like my misery was contagious, you know what I mean?" He continued with a chuckle, unbothered by the weird look he gained from the guy.

"Yeah, I can give you a few tips if you'd like, probably better though, if the wife doesn't hear, right?" He gestured to step out for a moment.

The guy seemed to pick on the hint and walked out. Nolan led him to the lawn while Bishop walked into the house with the woman and I went in with her.

As soon as she stepped in, Bishop gave the place a look around, trying to gauge any signs if the guy was harassing or assaulting the woman.

I didn't need to do too much and just had to peek over towards their kitchen to find all I needed to know.

"Look, I've had this conversation more times than I can count, and the result is always the same." She mentioned. "When he hits you, press charges, if you don't, eventually, he'll kill you."

The woman shook her head with a smile.

"You got it wrong. Cole just looks aggro." She replied. "Most of the time, he's a block of wood, emotionally speaking, I push his buttons, just to rile him up."

And that's all I had to hear before getting out.

"You can't take things out on her, no matter how much she pushes your buttons." I heard Nolan advise him as I moved towards them.

"She's the one that throws down a tantrum." He scoffed, locking his arms over. "Hell, that girl's got a crazy temper."

John blinked in confusion.

"Meaning what? That she hits you?"

He licked his lips, gulping the words that bolted up and shaking his head slowly.

"No, no, she knows better than that." He refused, fooling absolutely no one.

"Yeah, she just stabs you."

Their heads darted my way, Cole's so fast it might have just snapped.

"Wha-What are you talking about?" He mumbled.

"It was easy to deduce, the chest plate, the knives placed in the kitchen counter with plastic sticking out in their blunt spots and she literally calling you a block of wood." I explained while Nolan looked between me and Cole.

"What- No, I, she-." He tried to come up with something but in the end, let out a sigh and shook his head sadly.

"I'm not going to press charges, please let's drop it at that." He said, almost pleading to Nolan to let it go.

"Well, I-." John tried to speak but I cut him off.

"See, let's just put a scenario." I started earning his attention once again. "You are not around, she gets mad, who do you think she's going to turn it upon?"

He blinked before his mind registered where I was going.

"No! No, never, she loves Nick too much to even think about doing anything to him." Cole strongly refused.

"Looking at the kid, I would say she once loved you too, doesn't stop her from poking knives at you, does it?" I asked with a smirk.

Cole seemed to take in everything slowly and silently when Nolan stepped forward.

"You do understand, stabbing doesn't come under attempt to murder and not assault right?"

"Nolan, not helping." I mentioned but Cole seemed to have made his mind at that.

"I can't, I'm sorry." He shook his head once more.

"Fine, don't say I didn't warn you." I sang the words and walked back to the shop as I noticed Bishop coming out of the house.

"You good out here?" She asked them.

Nolan gave him a pleading eye and Cole silently shook his head.

"Yeah." Cole replied.

She let out a sigh and reluctantly walked out of the property.

"7-Adam-19, show us clear." She called it in.

"What do you think?" Nolan asked following behind her.

Just before she could answer, I did in her stead.

"He's gonna confront her about her short fuse, she isn't going to take it nice, words will be thrown, he would try to defuse it but she won't have any of it, he would use the kid in defense, which would actually just make her more angry, some knife knife, stabby stabby."

I casually answered as I got into the car.

"So I guess you guys will be back here in no time."
