Chapter 453: Old Friend

Emerging from the timeless expanse of the Throne of Heroes, a vortex abruptly unfolded.

Clad in silver armor, a man with black hair and eyes stepped out, taking his place upon his rightful throne.

Sighing, his head tilted slightly downward, fatigue evident in his eyes.

The Singularity was successfully fixed after dealing with Beast VI and the Root Princess.

After bidding farewell to the crew of Chaldea and the Servants, Arkhan accepted the summon from the Counter Force and finally returned to the Throne of Heroes.

In the end, Melusine chose not to leave with him.

She found the fairies hidden by Barghest and decided to take them and Barghest's remains to the Spiritual Tomb of Albion, where a natural sanctuary had formed after its fall, a place where the world rules could not reach, the only shelter for the fairies.

However, she promised to contact him to go to his world together once the fairies settled there.

After eliminating Manaka, the invisible barrier shrouding the world vanished without a trace, allowing his true body to descend freely into it.

Because of this, he left a spatial coordinate with Cosmic Juggernaut on Melusine. Once she activated this coordinate with magical energy, he could lock onto her position and come to pick her up.

It had to be said that this journey through the so-called Singularity was perhaps the most difficult challenge he had faced so far. Even though he appeared as a Grand Servant, he almost bit the dust.

Originally, he thought he only needed to face the Lion King, but who would have thought that behind him, there was Beast VI and Sajyou Manaka, two top entities in the Nasuverse?

If he hadn't sensed the truth of this Singularity in advance and guessed Manaka's true identity, he would have surrendered long ago. Although she eventually summoned Beast VI, with Arthur's assistance, they ultimately won without much trouble.

A mortal king who became a Divine Spirit after being influenced by his holy lance, a girl born omnipotent and omniscient because she was connected to the Root since birth, and a legendary calamity beast originating from the Bible—all these powerful entities gathering in one Singularity made it a difficulty level that even a hell difficulty would find easy.

If anyone wanted to confront them head-on, they would need at least seven Grand Servants to have a slight chance of victory, not to mention the possibility of sacrifices.

It was no wonder the Counter Force tried to stop his descent into this world and even considered abandoning it altogether.

Nevertheless, as the saying goes, the greater the difficulty, the greater the rewards.

After this world-ending battle, his 'Savior' rank was directly promoted from 'B' to 'A++'.

He estimated that if another Singularity like this were to come, he could easily push the 'Savior' to 'EX'.

By then, he would gain the authority of 'Savior' and use it to wield the true Holy Grail, changing Britain's fate of destruction in his world.

Just thinking about it made even him feel excited, dispelling much of his mental and physical fatigue.

However, just as Arkhan was still in the middle of his musing, a strange sensation suddenly surged in his heart, followed by a vortex appearing before him.

"This is... someone summoning me?" Arkhan froze for a moment before a surprised expression appeared on his face.

It was his first time being directly summoned by someone. More importantly, it was a targeted summoning of his Heroic Spirit's form as a Grand Servant—not to some aspect of him, but to him who truly sat on the Throne of Heroes, Arthur Pendragon (The Chosen King).

"Well, isn't this interesting?" Arkhan murmured softly. "It couldn't be Big Sis Morgan messing around, could it?"

It wasn't entirely out of the realm of possibility.

When he faked his death with 'return to heaven', he qualified to become a Heroic Spirit, naturally making him summonable by anyone who had a catalyst related to his Heroic Spirit's concept of existence.

As Arkhan thought about it, the only one capable of summoning him as a Grand Servant and acquiring a catalyst related to him would likely be his elder sister, Morgan.

Although Merlin also possessed such capabilities, that dick wizard wouldn't pull such stunts. In fact, he would probably prefer Arkhan to delay his return a bit longer, just to have a little more time to fool around and slack off.

Arkhan never had much faith in that white-haired scumbag anyway.

Even so, speculation was still speculation.

After pondering for a while, Arkhan decided to first see what the situation was on the other side. In this manner, he directed a thread of his consciousness into the vortex before him.

An ancient and solemn temple.

Demonic beasts flowing like tides.

A turbulent sea.

A dim and gloomy underworld.

A golden-haired king.

After a moment, Arkhan withdrew his consciousness, his black eyes showing a hint of contemplation.

He hadn't expected that the one summoning him wasn't Morgan, but an 'old friend'.

Though this old friend probably wouldn't remember him. After all, in the previous world, he gave this old friend quite a beating.

"Gilgamesh, huh..." Arkhan tapped his fingers lightly on the throne armrest, muttering to himself. "Is it because I've stirred up his clairvoyance? What's it called again...? Sha Naqba Imuru?"

Indeed, at this moment, the one who summoned Arkhan was the man known as the Oldest King and the King of Heroes, Gilgamesh.

But it was not the edgy and arrogant Archer Gilgamesh he encountered in Fuyuki, rather, it was Caster Gilgamesh who had returned from his journey for immortality, underwent a great transformation, and became a wise king.

Judging from the scenes he saw, that place should be the Seventh Singularity, the one continuing from the Singularity he had previously visited.

As for why Gilgamesh knew of his existence, he speculated that it might be because Gilgamesh saw what happened in the previous Singularity through Sha Naqba Imuru and then decided to summon him.

This version of Gilgamesh was as powerful as Merlin in magecraft, who was a candidate for Grand Servant. If Gilgamesh was willing to pay the price, it was not impossible for him to summon a Grand Servant even without a catalyst.

Watching the vortex gradually shrinking in front of him, Arkhan pondered for a moment and decided not to accept the summoning.

Of course, this didn't mean he intended to abandon this Singularity.

In terms of difficulty, dealing with the Goddess of Beginning, Tiamat, in the Seventh Singularity was no easier than the Singularity he had experienced before. If he could successfully overcome it, then his 'Savior' could be directly promoted to 'EX'.

With such an opportunity, Arkhan naturally wouldn't easily give up.
