Uneasiness

As soon as 'Beast' was mentioned by Arkhan, a bone-chilling coldness instantly erupted from Manaka's body, then slowly dissipated.

"Seems like you know quite a bit..." Manaka said coldly, her light blue eyes stared coldly at him.

"I never go into a battle unprepared after all. Since I dare stand before you, it means I at least have some confidence." Arkhan smiled lightly.

"Is that so?" Manaka squinted her eyes, her gaze became somewhat uncertain.

At first, this man sounded like he was bluffing, and the confidence he exuded seemed somewhat forced. No matter how she looked at it, it seemed like a facade of strength covering up some weakness.

But for some reason, she had a feeling of foreboding deep down, as if she was standing in front of an abyss with no end in sight, and if she took one step forward, she would immediately plummet into it, consumed by endless darkness.

In order to find the source of this foreboding feeling, she even harnessed her long-unused omnipotent power and tried to use it to investigate this feeling, and yet, she couldn't find any clues.

All traces ended with this man with black hair and eyes, the only one whom even the power of Root couldn't see through.

Where did this outsider come from in the first place?

Arkhan looked at Manaka calmly, who remained silent and hadn't made any moves yet. Although there was no change on the surface of his face, he couldn't help but sigh inwardly.

Manaka truly lived up to her name as the Root Princess. Her alertness to danger was indeed remarkably sharp.

Without a doubt, among the characters of the Nasuverse, Sajyou Manaka could easily be considered a top-tier character, alongside Ryougi Shiki, who could connect to the Root.

Her power needed no further explanation.

She could create a Singularity and effortlessly control Arthur, who was a top-tier Heroic Spirit.

Just those two aspects alone hint at her terrifying capabilities.

What was even more terrifying was that she wielded such immense power without any restraint of conscience.

Even though she was born omniscient and omnipotent, she couldn't comprehend the emotions, feelings, or hearts of others. Whether it was parental love or sibling love, she felt nothing. This meant she had no qualms about abusing her power, which was the most disturbing aspect of her.

Truthfully, even as a Grand Servant, Arkhan couldn't be sure of defeating Manaka.

This Root Princess suffered defeat only at the hands of one person—her beloved prince, Arthur Pendragon. However, it was not because Arthur was stronger and overpowered her, but because she offered no resistance whatsoever as he stabbed her.

Fortunately, despite Manaka being incredibly unreasonable with her strength, she had weaknesses.

Her frail body was her biggest vulnerability.

If she was rendered unable to wield her power, even with just a small knife, it was enough to take the life of this Root Princess.

And luckily, Arkhan happened to possess just the thing for this.

The Eleventh Divine Key, Oath of Judah, was capable of nullifying any power within its specified radius with its Zeroth Power, 'Elysion Pedion'.

However, due to the transformation into a Noble Phantasm, the Oath of Judah had been weakened to some extent. Compared to the original, Elysion Pedion could only sustain itself for about half a minute.

Although within Elysion Pedion, Arkhan was also unable to use any of his power, he could still wield simple weapons. Half a minute was more than enough time for him to blow Manaka's head off with the Judgment of Shamash in its dual-pistol form.

Moreover, the deployment of Elysion Pedion was not instant and needed time. Until then, Manaka had countless ways to escape its radius. For this reason, he must wait for the right moment to unveil this final ace up his sleeve.

However, perhaps sensing something, Manaka had been keeping her distance from him, maintaining a distance of several meters, even showing no intention of launching any attack.

Currently, Elysion Pedion had reached its final stage, and the power of binding was affecting his body every moment. If he continued to drag this out, his situation would become dire.

Arkhan and Manaka, one outwardly calm but inwardly anxious, the other eager but indecisive, both of them were plotting their own schemes.

Time moves slowly forward in this almost frozen world.

"What's up? Didn't you say you wanted to take care of this so-called annoying pest?" Arkhan asked casually, his face adorned with a faint smile. "If that's the case, then I might as well leave. Anyway, I've already destroyed Rhongomyniad, and there's no way you can continue with the Holy Selection, so my goal has been achieved."

He couldn't afford to waste any more time, so he decided to see if he could provoke Manaka into action, making her approach him and enter the radius of Elysion Pedion.

On the other hand, Manaka's gaze darkened slightly upon hearing his words.

There was no way she was letting him leave, or else her prince would truly have no chance of recovery. Yet, a sense of impending crisis lingered in her heart. She didn't know why but she always felt that acting rashly would surely lead to trouble.

She was almost certain that this man possessed the power to bring her to the brink of death. Nevertheless, it was evident that using this so-called power required fulfilling certain conditions, or else he wouldn't still be standing there provoking her.

*Cough!* *Cough!*

A weak cough suddenly echoed from behind Manaka.

Manaka turned slightly in panic, seeing those emerald eyes gradually losing their luster, filled with a dead silence.

'No, Saber couldn't hold on any longer...'

As if making a decision, Manaka took a deep breath and turned to Arkhan.

Her delicate face was now covered in cold indifference.

"I didn't want to do this, but since you're pushing me, I have no choice but to resort to this method."

Upon hearing that, Arkhan narrowed his eyes slightly, a sense of uneasiness creeping into his heart.

Manaka raised her slender arm, fingers curling inward as if grasping something.

On the battlefield, the fallen bodies of Camelot's knights began to fade, transforming into clusters of faint lights resembling fireflies. These lights seemed to be drawn by some kind of attraction, converging toward Camelot, forming a halo of light stretching across the sky.
