Chapter 17: I'm Here To Save You
Ava paused.
She began laughing.
"Come back? Have you finally considered me as your daughter?"
The couple was taken aback.
They were shocked at the sudden change in Ava.
"For so many years, I have endured being treated as nothing but a tool. When I finally found my own place, you came here to ask me to come back to your family?! Do you really think I am that stupid? Do you really think I am going to come back just to be treated like shit by you two again? After all the hell you put me through, you still dare to ask me that?!"
Ava raised her voice.
"You think I don't know why you came here? You're not here for me. You're here to use me. You want to use my company to become more powerful. You don't even consider me as your own daughter. I am nothing more than a tool to you!"
Sheila couldn't look Ava in the eye.
"You are wrong," Sheila said.
"Ava, you are wrong. We are your family. You are our daughter. You are important to us. Please come back..."
Ava laughed.
"Ha... You expect me to believe that?"
"I've been used by the Rose family for my entire life. I am sick and tired of it. I will never be used again."
Edmond took a step forward and held his hand out to Ava.
"Please, Ava... We need you! We have already canceled the wedding between you and the kid from the Yates!"
Ava looked at Edmond's hand for a few seconds.
"Do you think you can fool me so easily? If you have canceled the wedding then it means that the Rose family's ties with the Yates family have weakened. That's why you are desperate to keep me with you."
Ava was furious.
She shouted at them.
"GET OUT OF HERE!"
The couple was taken aback by her words.
They had never seen Ava like this before.
They were dumbstruck.
Ava pointed her finger toward the door.
"Once I am no longer busy, I will also come and get Lily."
"What? No, you can't!" The couple panicked.
Ava shouted, "Out! I said GET OUT!"
Ava didn't want to hear what they had to say. She wasn't going to listen to them anymore. She had already made up her mind. She didn't care if she hurt her parents anymore. She was no longer going to listen to their demands.
Edmond suddenly went quiet, his gaze was cold.
"Ava, if you don't come back with us right now, I will immediately send Lily to the Yates!"
This time, Sheila looked at Edmond in shock.
"What? You can't! That's your own daughter! You can't do that!"
"Ava, please come back. Don't force me to do this!" Edmond pleaded.
Ava suddenly became furious.
"What the fuck is wrong with you people?! You dare threaten your own daughter?! You fucking bastards!" Ava shouted.
Ava took a few steps forward and glared at the couple.
"Don't you dare touch her! If you so much as lay a hand on her, I swear to God, I will fucking kill you! I swear it!"
Sheila and Edmond were shocked by her words.
Edmond suddenly tried to smack Ava in the face when a person appeared out of nowhere.
The battle puppet was assigned to not only watch Ava but also to protect her.
Everyone was shocked by her appearance.
'When did she get here'
"W-who are you?"
Edmond was shocked by this person's strength and judging by her appearance, this person should be a woman!
Edmond was a mercenary his whole life. He practiced his internal strength and was way stronger than a normal human.
The battle puppet suddenly kicked Edmond in the abdomen.
"Gugh!" Edmond couldn't react in time and let out a painful groan as he flew back a few meters.
"E-Edmond!" Sheila cried out and rushed to Edmond's side.
Sheila looked back at the woman.
Sheila couldn't help but feel scared.
"W-Who are you?!"
The woman looked at her and didn't respond.
The woman suddenly appeared next to Ava and looked at Sheila with a cold expression.
It was obvious she was there to protect her.
The couple began leaving but before they exited the door, Edmond turned around and faced Ava.
"I will wait for your return."
Ava was even more furious. 'I must get Lily out of there as soon as possible!' But how?' she was in a dilemma.
Ava looked at the battle puppet.
"Who are you?" Ava asked.
The woman looked at her but remained silent.
The door suddenly opened.
"Why the fuck are you ba-" Ava turned around and saw Zeke instead.
"Z-Zeke!" Ava exclaimed.
"What happened? Why were you shouting?" Zeke asked.
"They... My parents came here." Ava said.
"I see," Zeke said.
"Who is she?" Ava asked Zeke.
Zeke looked at the battle puppet. He stared at her for a few seconds.
The battle puppet acted like she was looking around and checking out the place while fidgeting.
"She's a guard. I assigned her to protect you." Zeke said.
"Ah, I see," Ava said.
She suddenly had an idea.
"Hey, Zeke."
"What is it?" Zeke asked.
Ava asked, "Could you please help me?"
Ava was worried for her younger sister's safety.
She wanted Zeke to help her.
"Sure, tell me." Zeke agreed.
Ava told Zeke the problem.
"Ah, I see."
Zeke nodded.
"I'll get someone to rescue her right away."
Ava was relieved.
"Thank you."
Zeke immediately left. He was bored and didn't have anything to do for now. After getting the location from Ava, Zeke teleported straight to the Rosefamily's estate.
It was located far away from the center of the city in the mountains.
The estate was large and very beautiful.
There was a large courtyard and a big fountain in the middle.
Zeke arrived in the middle of the courtyard.
He looked around and noticed some guards standing nearby.
They saw him and immediately approached him.
"Who are you? What are you doing here?" one of the guards asked.
Zeke knocked them all out and continued looking around.
He spotted a beautiful young woman walking around. She had short hair and was wearing a black dress. She looked like a younger version of Ava.
She was carrying a book in her hand.
Zeke recognized her immediately.
It was Lily, Ava's sister.
He disappeared from sight and appeared behind her. "Lily," Zeke said.
"Ah!" Lily was startled.
She quickly turned around and saw a young man standing behind her.
"You're..." she was stunned.
"Zeke." Zeke introduced himself.
Lily was confused.
She didn't know who he was.
Zeke said, "I am here to save you."
"S-save me? From what?" Lily was even more confused.
Zeke smiled.
"Let's go."
Suddenly, Zeke knocked her unconscious and rushed out of the estate. If he ran the whole way back, it would take a while. He took out one of the Apaches and made his way back to Z-Tech Tower.
// About an hour later //
After landing on the rooftop, he carried Lily on his shoulder as he walked towards Ava's office.
Ava was currently busy dealing with more papers, but she kept getting distracted by her thoughts.
She couldn't get Lily out of her mind. She was very worried.
She could only believe in Zeke.
"I hope Lily is fine..."
The door suddenly opened.
"Yo! Ava!"
The voice came from Zeke.
He walked into the room and laid Lily on the couch.
"L-Lily!" Ava rushed to Lily's side.
"Why is she unconscious? Is she okay?" Ava nervously asked.
"Don't worry, she's just knocked out" Zeke said as he took out a bottle of lemon tea.
Zeke took a sip as he started walking out of the office.
Suddenly, he felt someone hug him tightly from behind.
He could feel his back getting wet.
Ava hugged him tightly as she cried in tears.
"T-Thank you..." Ava said with a sniffle.
Zeke felt good about helping her.
Ava finally let go of him.
"Sorry, I shouldn't have done that," Ava said, wiping away her tears.
Zeke turned around and said, "You're fine."
Zeke paused for a moment.
After seeing Ava hate her family to the core, he knew that Ava had no one else to turn back to. She should have complete loyalty to me after this.
Zeke decided that he wouldn't mind letting her in on some of the secrets he had.
If anything happened, he could simply make her take the pill, but Zeke didn't want to do that. Although Ava was only managing his company, he began to consider her a friend.
"I'm going to show you something."
